So many people don't understand that when the fire department needs access they NEED access. There was a picture going around of a fire hose going through the front windows of a car that was parked in front of a fire hydrant. Tons of people were being critical, saying they should have gone around or over or under the car. What they don't get is that every kink in the hose reduces the water flow by 50%. I hope everyone would agree that the lives of the eight people trapped in the building were more important than a couple of car windows.
There's some new videos of a car in NY which had windows smashed and a hose run through it...
Is that picture the same one used for the thumbnail of this video or is it a different picture
Absolutely correct..HOWEVER then thing with this case is this was NOT an Actual fire, it was a drill contrived specifically to destroy this guy's car. It's a REALLY Good way to get the FD and Store Sued, when they had MORE than enough time in the past to address it with enforcement means through the PD.
I've seen that picture. It is *so* satisfying to see the destruction to that entitled jerk's car!
Seriously and I always find it find people that get upset that you could have gone over the vehicle know a kink in the hose or just going up more than necessary is a detriment to them that can cost lives
Does everyone forget that a lot of "rent-a-cops" are either retired cops or ones who'd been injured on the job to where they couldn't keep up with the physical demands so they went into security?
I used to think that firefighters putting a hose through a car was fake, and I had seen it done in movies. Now I have seen actual photos and videos of people screaming about damage to their car. They got what they deserve.
The best one are the ones where a traffic cop goes and places a ticket on the vehicle...
I hope the insurance catches wind and refuses to pay out... they aren't insuring willful disregard of the laws
And the laws on blocking fire hydrants are in place not just for the firefighters' convenience, but also fluid dynamics. The fire hoses need the extra space so they don't kink and reduce the available water volume/pressure.
Firefighters can in fact 🎶bust the windows out your car🎶 if you're parked in a space where they need to be. In front of a fire hydrant, in the fire lane, etc and I'm pretty sure they don't have to pay for the damages because you shouldn't have been there.

I'm a paramedic on a small fire department, and yes, we do such things: not necessarily out of any maliciousness, but for the safe operation of our equipment. 😉 However, the results do make us smile (once we're back at station).
honestly I am at a loss how someone can prioritise a car over human lives, it's also their own fault for parking where they shouldn't
I was quite happy to witness an incident of rough justice for an illegal parker. It was about 1982 and I was on a city bus going west on Hastings St. In Vancouver, BC. The city buses were all electric (powered by booms that connected to overhead power lines). Even though many of these buses were ancient (late 40s to 50s vintage) they were solidly built and, being electric, had instant and considerable acceleration. Bus stops in the city were usually right after an intersection and this one was no different. So the driver needed to stop (right in front of the Waldorf for any Vancouverites) and a taxi was parked, sloppily, in the bus stop. This meant that the rear half of the bus was still in the intersection - not safe at all. The bus driver laid on the horn but the cabbie wouldn't get out of the way other than to creep forward a couple of feet. The bus was right on this guy's tail but it seemed that the cabbie was under the misapprehenson that a bus stop was his personal taxi stand. After about a minute of honking the bus driver just punched the accelerator. As anyone familiar with electric vehicles can tell you, instant power and a lot of torque can be a wonderful thing. Within about two feet contact was made between a multi ton, solidly built 30-year-old bus and the cab, which was punched right out of the bus stop and, to the delight of us passengers, got a great deal of air in the process. Some people got on, some got off, and everyone was laughing. The bus driver just pulled back into traffic, leaving a hopefully more humble cabbie to contemplate how he was going to explain his destroyed car to the boss. Similar moral: if you're going to pick an entitled parking fight don't do it with someone who can, literally, crush your car. It's been many years since I've thought of this experince but it never fails to give me a warm, satisfied feeling.
There was a story some decades ago when they were testing electric trains out east (in the early 20th century). The factory rep was demonstrating how to start up the new electric locomotive, and was gently easing up to speed. The yard manager wasn't having it and insisted that they should go ahead and apply full power to the locomotive (thinking of how a steam locomotive worked). The factory rep reluctantly complied, only for everyone in the yard immediately shout to stop the train. The sudden lurch forward had resulted in the train pulling the end off an old wooden grain car, and the tracks were now under a pile of grain. The now red-faced yard manager said nothing as he walked back to his office.
reminds me of something i saw:
a bus stopped right after turning at an intersection, forcing a SECOND bus to stop IN the intersection, blocking BOTH roads!
it only stayed there for a minute, but it was absurd to stop THAT close to the corner...
That last story. I love it. Not only is that a police record that no employer would want to see, but no matter the insurance he has, I am sure it doesn’t cover criminal conduct and illegal bs. So even with full coverage, they won’t cover that.
Story 4 - Even better is that the auto insurance company will most likely refuse to cover it when they figure out it was caused by him illegally parking in a fire lane.
Which he also lost a couple dozen grand to boot.
If he could prove that he didn't realise it was a fire lane then they will probably cover him.

Last story, he got off lightly. Where I live, assaulting an emergency worker in the course of duty is jail time, lots of it, no matter how much money you make in a day.
Story 2: Being spoiled rotten explains everything. He's a narc who boasts about anything (including crimes) and looks down on others. Hope jail time sets him straight

In the last story as a former firefighter/paramedic I assure you we will do that to your car. And if you’re parking in the wrong place you are going to be the one paying. We once ran hoses through a Land-rover parked by a fire hydrant in Milwaukee by the Art Museum for a fire as we had no other access due to idiots parking and Summerfest.
Story 4: his insurance probably won’t pay either because he was parked illegally and most insurance have a clause that if your vehicle is damaged while you are committing an illegal act

Yeah, I mean I get that people need their cup of morning coffee/tea but that was extreme entitled behavior

Story 3: that old 1980s "This is your brain on drugs" PSA commercial really wasn't kidding when it came to those guys.
Last story: Whatever job that guy had that was making him a lot of money might have been placed in jeopardy now that he has a criminal record.

I have never understood why saving 7 seconds of walking time is worth a potential ticket. Or worse, in this case. Especially when they would be walking for quite a while in the store, anyway. Long enough for this to be set up, at least.

Don't obstruct firefighters under any circumstance.
The moment the jerk parked in the emergency lane, I knew where that last story was going... and it was as glorious as I expected.
I do wonder if the job where he “makes more in a week” will give him the time off for being in jail, and if that reputation will help or harm the company image … companies can be quite sensitive about having criminals on their staff, especially visible staff like sales.
#3 - As (now retired) Sgt. Larkin from OK used to say on Live PD, 'we don't catch the smart ones'. I remember that every time some idiot gets busted on minor traffic violations (speeding, expired tags, etc) or acting up like this idiot did at the hotel. So glad OP recovered from that attack!
It's fake, dude. It either didn't happen, or OP is embellishing someone else's story.
Story 2 and 3: amazing how these two could have avoid the law if they shut their dang mouths but it's pride before the fall.
Story 4: We had a similar situation on my street a couple years ago. At one end of my street between the free and paid parking spots Is a fire plug that people regularly park in front of. One day I got home from work just as the fire department was getting ready to leave. They had come to put out a car fire but had a problem with a jeep blocking the plug. So they knocked the driver and passenger windows in the jeep and ran the firehose through the jeep. The hose had already been removed by the time I got there but the girl who owned the jeep was sitting on an apartment stoop crying about the damage to her car. People still park in front of that fire plug.
Story 1: I had a job where the boss sounded entitled like that. Truth is that he was downplaying the severity of issues to deescalate the situation. In this case, cops do have the right to block a driveway for a traffic stop, but a 45-minute traffic stop could be considered excessive and thus spiteful knowing someone unrelated was (illegally) detained. Making OP feel "above the law" in this case beats the bad press.
I'd be curious, if they can block a driveway if it isn't an emergency. Not that they couldn't if there was an emergency, but (and I'm no cop or lawyer) blocking it without other cause seems like a bad idea if there is another option.
Look up what being detained means. The 3rd party is NOT detained. Is it fair they cant use their car? No. Is it proper? No. But they are not detained. Dont use legal words you are too lazy to undertand
@madhatter1057 for the laymen (not a lawyer not legal advice) detention short of an arrest os when a reasonable person would reasonably believe they are not free to leave...this can be by word or action of the officer (not disagreeing with you but including it for those who don't know...and from memory what I've read defined by the Supreme Court, not an exact quote)
@@75ur15 As far as I know from the channel Audit the Auditor, Legislation states they can if performing a traffic stop in a marked car. Though the average traffic stop is, at most, 15 minutes.
@@madhatter1057 From what I recall, the police definition of detainment is to prevent one from leaving by normal means. This may include parking behind a car in a parking lot or at the end of a driveway, or standing behind your bike in a bike rack, as it prevents you from lawfully using your vehicle (this part I could be wrong, but I do believe it is a 4th amendment violation... the freedom of travel, if I recall)
This can be overseen during the course of duty (such as blocking traffic or using your mustang as a rest to sniper the mugger in your neighbor's house), but these exemptions cannot be done for an excessive amount of time...
And I do believe we can both agree that 45 minutes for a traffic stop is excessive.
Story 3: Dont commit a crime when you are already committing a crime.
Those assholes fried their own braincells some much that they never think about how screwed they are.
That story is almost 100% fake. To start, Security isn't just a position you "slide" into. You have to be certified for it, and that's if your place of employment doesn't just contract out their security. Also, guys like the offender don't usually attack people by themselves. They almost always get their friends and jump their targets together. Finally, the most egregious lie was how detailed the fight was. It was played out by someone who has clearly never been hit in the back of the head before. It's grade A Bullshit and it reeks.

Last Story: I absolutely hate bad parkers. We had a Camaro take 4 spots, and the only things that saved him from the "sorry for the scratch" note were the cameras and the fact I was late.
The story that Fluff mentions after story 2: It's like people aren't aware that automotive paint shops exist. Or wraps, if you're into that sort of thing. If I got a car that I loved in every way *except* the color, I'd much rather drop a couple thousand for one of those. And it'd probably be the wrap, because then I could get all fancy with designs and stuff.
Honestly while the captain in the first story framed the yelling around the coffee I can probably play devil's advocate and say that likely isn't the only thing he was worried about and that the officer wasn't punished just for that.

The fire fighter story, I'm going to say this, DO NOT PARK IN THOSE SPOTS, OR INFRONT OF FIRE HYDRENTS, FIRE FIGHTERS CAN AND WILL TURN THEIR HOSES THROUGH THE WINDOWS. Also, if all they do is break the windows, those hoses leak, so think before you park where you shouldn't.
Insurance fraud is a serious crime so likelihood Karl would be facing a prison sentence.
Never mess with anyone getting their coffee. The captain did say if it wasn't an emergency not to block driveways.
Story 2 - Ah the classic school jock bully coworker, the type that harasses and torments people around them but when confronted plays the innocent card. Good on OP for recording that idiot’s boasting about him past crimes without him realizing that he’s being recorded. Also him saying to OP, “I’m smarter than I look.” Had me saying ‘Guess you forgot about karma, moron.’
I hope he develops a hydrocele, and it becomes so large that he can't stand to relieve his bladder, without it running down the front of himself. About the size of a plastic toy basketball although a softball or navel orange will also have the same impact. I know been there done that.

Story 2: That wasn't just insurance fraud, that was also a case of Arson.
How?! It was his own car, not someone else’s, unless the car was under his parents’ name(s), but they may have put it under his name, same insurance.

Torching your own vehicle is not arson... you can do what you want with your own property, including burning it... as long as it doesn't cause damage to anything else which isn't yours.

If they are in any sort of shared accomodations, it would be for the willful destruction of the other person/people's property.

that last story I can confirm most ladder trucks have outriggers that are so powerful they can split cinder blocks as they are meant to transfer gravity to balance to be able to support the massive ladder
I will never understand some people’s sense of entitlement. I once dropped my car off at the mechanic. I parked it on the side street and gave the mechanic my keys. On my way out I noticed that I had accidentally parked a few inches into a red zone. I went in to get my keys to move my car. Luckily the mechanic was on his way out to get my car anyway. I’m sure a case like mine worst case would have been a talking to but still.

By Law, not even Police Officers are allowed to Park blocking a driveway unless the driveway is attached to a home they are responding to an Emergency call AT that specific location...
It's actually happened to me and when the Officer refused to move his Cruiser, I called Parking Enforcement (a separate Division in the City government) to report an Illegally Parked vehicle blocking my Driveway...I told them the make and model, but 'forgot' to mention it belonged to City PD...when the Parking Enforcement Officer showed up, he told the Officer to move his Cruiser and the Cop told him what OP's Cop told him..."he'll move when he's finished with his Call"...I wish I had taken a picture of his expression when the Parking Enforcement Officer started writing a Ticket and called for an Impound Tow...Needless to say, Police stopped blocking my Driveway...

😂 I was skeptical until the kid said he was a “Maintenance Engineer”. Boy howdy, engineering degrees are fairly tough to get, so he must be one of those soooper smart prodigies. Also, he was so high up the chain of command he referred to other employees (who were all ever so very, very beneath him) with titles like “Front Desk Lady”.
Add in how he made a point to specify the trashy hotel guests as “adults” and, gosh, who could question him?? 😆

In some places "maintenance engineer" is a fancy name for the guy who changes the light bulbs in the building.
I heard of a story that was pretty similar to the second Entitled story. This teenage girl just turned sixteen, and her parents got her a new car for her birthday, but then she started crying about how it wasn't the model that she wanted, and it was a pretty kickass car, I'd take it if driving didn't scare or stress the 🔥🔥🔥🔥 out of me
Friend of mine is a Firefighter assigned to driving the Pump and his stubborn declaration is "If I've got the blues and twos on and you ain't budging on your own, I'm MAKING you move!"
The loud, drunk, high party in the hotel reminds me of a local, Scottish, crime writer saying in an interview… the smart criminals don’t get caught out easily.
Story 3: this. This is why stupid people shouldn't commit crimes, they always get caught in the most obvious and idiotic Ways. What was even his plan, he hit the guy with the bottle and he'll just ...not do anything?
Most likely he was hoping to knock him out so him and his gang could flee. However having adrenaline already pumping from dealing with idiots make this almost impossible. Very likely OP was fuzzy for a moment but thanks to adrenaline already pumping and the immediate pain dose of adrenaline it gave him enough juice to do what he did.
Perhaps he played more f those video games which a single action impedes one’s opponent, and there are really no downstream consequences for any “completed” action.

I'm so excited for these stories. I've been away for a while as these stories were causing me anxiety. As someone who used to work in the service industry, the audacity of some people never ceases to amaze me. Thanks DarkFluff!
Story 1: here in the UK the emergency services can block your car for as long as they need to, it's the law. In the last few years they've had to put up with entitled idiots barging in on resuscitations, severe injuries, heart attacks etc.. to demand they move their vehicles. They get told to go away but probably not that politely, I mean imagine if it was your family member! There was one on tv where a white van man (known for being terrible drivers in the UK) even blocked an ambulance in being a right dick and he refused to move when the patients family were begging him because their father was so sick the delay could kill him! He only moved when he realised he was being recorded. Sadly their father did die a few days later.
This was a traffic stop though. And should have not taken so long. For a routine traffic stop in the US, they shouldn't be blocking a driveway. For a full "Code 3" response, or fire and medical, yes, they can, but they try not to if possible. For medical, that driveway might be needed for a gurney, so blocking it would make it more difficult to get a patient in an ambulance
@@oldmanjim2376 I'll agree the traffic stop took too long, and it's the same in the UK they don't block a drive unless they have to. But, it's still the law so if they're actually working and not just sitting in the car there isn't a lot you can do. If it's just a traffic stop you could ask nicely I suppose but there is nothing that legally compels them to move. If you are going to be late for work all you can do is what the OP did and take a photo and send it to your boss.
The police captain was right in his words. The entitled cop needed to learn that his actions have a knock-on effect beyond blocking OP.
Do not get between a cop and his coffee and doughnuts, even if you're another cop.
I used to manage an old theater in an even older mall. All cops and security guards got free small cups of popcorn, soda and coffee anytime we were open. I never had to pay for security. Security came right to me!
Actually what the captain did was make an example. If you have ever ran a team, you know how they worked.
When I began my current career, I forgot a process. My manager, who was a chill guy, made an “example” out of me by letting the team know that if they didn’t know that their N.A. creds gave you CA access to Canadian systems, to please tinder your resignation and, in his words, “I’ll write your ‘pimp’ aka staffing company, a great letter of reference.
Nobody on the team knew I was the dude who forgot that his US creds had CA privs.
Tge captain basically did the same thing and he “removed” the guy who couldn’t remember to ‘protect and serve’

First one both the Captain and the Officer were clearly entitled, but at the very least the Captain's entitlement was aimed right where it needed to go.

I instantly knew that the firefighters were going to go through that jerk's car windows. In the words of the late Don Knotts as Barney Fife on the classic TV show, The Andy Griffith Show, "What an idiot!"
On that first story, don't dump on the captain. Coffee addicts are monsters until they get their coffee.
Story 1: Though the police captain comes off as entitled, that may not be the ACTUAL case. It is not incommon for law enforcement issues like this to result in a public beratement geared towards maximum humiliation, but once back in the station they get punishment for the more appropriate reason - be it just a chewing out or domething more official. Public humiliation IS a proven effective punishment(as long as its not TOO extreme), after all.
But also, consider this: these officers all would have known each other well. The officer would probably know if it was actually the coffee delay that angered the captain, or the blocked driveway. The ribbing he'd get later from the other officers afterwards, though, would be much more brutal after being chewed out over something like that, which could make the whole punishment MORE effective than if he'd been chewed out JUST for blocking the driveway. Blocking a driveway likely does not get an official punishment, so the chewout needs to be as effective as possible. And making it seem utterly insane would ABSOLUTELY help.
Now, not knowing these cops, I can't say if ANY of the above is the case here. But I do know such is practiced by the city police up where I live, so its a possibility to be acknowledged.
I have seen several video's where a person parked in front of a fire hydrant. Yess, the fire department will beak your window, and put the hose into your car to get to the hydrant. So as Foest Gump would say, stupid is as stupid does. Lol
The main fire truck for my rural area is a behemoth of a tanker, which they apparently bought as military surplus...
It's the size of a locomotive and has a bulldozer engine. If there's a car in the fire lane, they just run it over. Or shunt it off into a ditch.
Needless to say, that happens very rarely!

#2 It's easy to imagine what happened... Police officer show up at Jerk's home with an arrest warrant and a summon to the local criminal court, followed by a represent of his insurance company with a bill for the amount he received PLUS monthly compound interests. Then, get to show up before a judge ready to deliver the sentence.
#3 Pro tip : If there is a warrant against you, even if from another state, keep it quiet, don't cause ANY trouble and don't do ANYTHING even remotely against the rules. Here, we have at least 2 persons who failed.

Blocked driveway story: Yeah, there's really no good excuse for blocking someone's driveway due to a routine traffic stop. Had it been a felony pursuit with two or more patrol cars needed to stop the runaway AND prevent them from taking off again, okay, that's a different story, but not the case here.
Man's man story: I've run into a few of those types of idiots as well. I'm a retired truck driver. One thing to know about me is that I'm really not that into sports (baseball, football, basketball, hockey, etc.), they're just not that important in my life. I have other things that I enjoy. Anyway, I was out on the road and my wife was visiting some family/friends and a guy who was there asked my wife who my favorite team was. My wife replied I didn't have one, that I didn't follow sports. He then rather snidely said that I wasn't much of a man then. She said she really enjoyed the look on his face when she told him I was a truck driver!
Hotel story: If there are warrants out for your arrest, you may want to keep a low profile. You're not always as big and bad as you think you are.
Emergency parking story: Just think, if he was still making payments on that poor BMW, he still had that to pay off! Insurance wouldn't cover it as he had knowingly parked illegally in a fire lane! Oops!

I have seen photos of cars that parked in a fire or fire hydrant zones and their windows got totally smashed when an emergency happened. I wonder if the repair expense was worth the entitlement? Maybe the cars and owners were severely FINED for being stupid and entitled?

The insurance fraud one was definitely charged with at LEAST 3 THINGS, 1. INSURANCE FRAUD, 2 filing a false police report, 3. Arson, as well as possibly 4. wasting police time, and possibly finned the money used to employ the police time and resources to investigate the original, false, case.
it's not arson... you are allowed to set fire to your own property. 1, 2, 4... yes. If you call your insurance "Hey, I'm calling to cancel my insurance... because I torched my own vehicle" and they want to pay out for it... that is on their own!
If you torch it without the permits for a fire, and don't clean it up after... that could be a separate issue :)

Story 3: I once heard the philosophy: "Don't commit two crimes". If you're trying to get away with one thing, don't call attention to yourself with another. Driving license unpaid/suspended? Drive like an angel (no speeding, no blown stop signs/red lights). Wanted for drugs, don't have a bunch of drugs you're not allowed to smoke in a hotel room anyway, AND cause such a ruckus that the hotel throws you out AND assault the guy just doing his job so they call the cops on you, etc. :) Another story of yours I said the same thing, a parent with no access tried to bully a library into telling her if her daughter was there - against their rules for exactly such a reason - then the idiot called the cops HERSELF with tales that the library was hiding her daughter in the STAFF ROOM. Yeah, they'd really let a random teenaged patron into the staff-only room for no particular reason.
Story 4: I'm curious as why the car was crushed! New side windows and pounding out the dents in his hood don't add up to the value of a newish BMW. I mean, unless it was done "accidentally on purpose."
I'm unsure of what the OP meant. Maybe the OP was referring to it being crushed by the ladder truck supports, but maybe it was crushed after it was towed because it was unrepairable? After all, if the supports were large enough then they probably severely damaged the engine block and frame of the car. I think that's the more likely meaning.
Regarding the last story, wealthy people don't see things like others. When told you can't park there (no parking zone for example), they say, sure you can it just costs X (no parking ticket fees). They don't see themselves doing anything wrong, it's just X amount of dollars to do what they want.

As to the hotel story it's a case of instant idiots just ad alcohol. As to the last story the manager should have called the police the first and every time the jerk parked in the emergency zone to have him ticketed and towed. Since the jerk made so much money he could afford it. He also should have to pay for repainting the outriggers on the fire truck.
For that last story, if he was as rich and as a big shot as he thought he was.
He would have just have had to deal with the insurance claim and buying a new car, and about 800 in tickets and fines, no need to go to jail over $800 in pocket change to have the privilege of parking in the emergency lane.

Last story - wouldn't it be easier to call the police for a vehicle parked in the fire lane (making the dispatcher aware that it is a repeat, and arrogant, offender), have the car ticketed and booted, ..... and then towed? But, of course, the police will only respond on the call as soon as they are available. Plus, not as much fun for the fire fighters either.
I had an interesting parking situation. I live in rural America. My nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away. I’m surrounded by far fields and woods on one side. On Saturday morning during harvest season I went out to cut my grass and to my surprise there were 2 grain haulers in my gravel driveway. They offered to move but I said no I’m not going anywhere.
2 weeks later the farmer came by and gave me $200 for the inconvenience. Then 2 weeks later a gravel truck showed up and spread fresh gravel. The arrangement is still going on 5 years later.

We had a situation in Brooklyn, NYC when I resided there. Someone parked their high end Mercedes Benz next to a hydrant. (A 7 series, I think.) Bad move! A fire did break out and his precious Benz had the windows smashed out to allow the larger hose to pass through. The team "accidentally" didn't tighten the coupling that joined two hoses and the Benz became a swimming pool! The fire was extinguished after about three hours and the fire crew took over an hour to break things down and leave. Eventually, a tow truck arrived to haul the Benz pool away! Plenty of photos were taken at the time by both the fire crew and the police. We never found out what happened to the Benz or the owner but, that hydrant remained clear for a long time afterward. LOL

Fourth story: Being a dougebag and disregard the fire fighters by parking illegall is an expensive mistake. They are allowed to destroy any car that is in the way of their work if is parked. Worse is to assault a fire fighter.
1983 in Phoenix, AZ a idiot in a pickup parked in a fire lane all the time rather than walk 100 ft or less. A fire broke out in the storage part of the business and the alarm goes hey tried to locate the guy in the store. he was not there. The fire truck-pumper- shoved his pickup thru a cinder block wall and went to work. Entitled ass tried to sue and got over $5000 total fines and a smashed up truck that was impounded and sold for scrap.

Story1: Blocking a private driveway for a traffic stop is illegal. It has to be some sort of emergency to block. The cop refusing to move makes it worse. I'd have taken a picture of the cop's license plate and called the local police station or sheriff's department to report a police vehicle blocking my private driveway and that the cop refused to move even an inch to get out of the way. Oh, the captain coming in with the officer who refused to move is glorious! Love that the captain chewed the officer out. I'd have refused to serve that guy. Citing the refusal to serve anyone they want so long as it isn't for a protected class. Assholes aren't a protected class. If I did serve him, I'd make him wait 45min to get his coffee. "Sorry officer, my job is more important than yours". What a dickbag!
Story2: People like Carl are part of why it is hard for people who legitimately had cars stolen or had accidents or something bad happen to get anything out of insurance companies. well, that and insurance companies are greedy, but the fraud makes it harder on honest people. Glad Carl got arrested. Too bad that never happened to the landlady of the local trailer park in my area. If she didn't like a tenant and couldn't legally kick them out, she'd have someone burn their trailer down and then accuse them of arson but get the insurance $ for it. She did it to some friends of mine bc she found out they were gay and didn't want "f***s" living in her trailer park. She was perfectly fine with the convicted arsonist & the dude who literally murdered other tenants' pets living there. I hate when people are so entitled and ungrateful for things like getting a car. My parents never bought me a car. If they had, I would have been happy with a beater so long as it worked and was comfortable.
Story3: I hate it when people think its ok to trash up a hotel and treat other guests & the employees like garbage. My dad was a night manager for awhile & saw some crazy shit. I already have a hard enough time sleeping in hotels so having people with loud music & smoking weed would make me want to check out, demand a refund, and find somewhere else to stay. I'm glad OP was ok and that he pressed charges. That d-bag who attacked him needed to be in jail. OP could have qualified for workman's comp for the head injury since it happened on the job. Reminds me of a stupid criminal story my late father told me. I think it happened in the 70s. There was this either diner or donut shop that law enforcement officers liked to eat at and one of my dad's co-workers was there. The place was full of LEOs-- plainclothes, off duty, feds, & uniformed. The co-worker was a fed. So, some Einstein comes in and thinks it would be a good idea to try to rob the place. He goes up to the cashier, pulls a gun, and says "Give me all the money!" Before the cashier could even react, pretty much every LEO in the place drew their serviceweapons and pointed them at the guy. My dad's co-worker happened to be right next to the register so he put his serviceweapon to the guy's head. In the court testimony he said that he exclaimed "Freeze, Police!" but the witnesses (who corroborated all of the other details) said what he actually said was "APRIL FOOL'S, MOTHERFUCKER!"
