As far as the manager chewing out a customer by mistake, I would definitely report that to corporate. That was absolutely inexcusable, and the only way they will know they have a terrible manager is if people tell them about their experiences in the store.

Story 5: If someone spoke to me like that lady did, with the Autism comment, she would've gotten a verbal dress-down. As for that manager, he can go screw himself with a 10-foot pole covered in razor blades.. There is no chance I would've let that manager and his wife even feel like they won. My first question would've been "What's my name?" After the manager's ears start smoking I would've added "How can you fire me if you don't even know who I am?" Once the manager is completely red in the face I would've capped it off with "Read my lips: I have never worked, nor will I ever work, for you! Get me YOUR superior NOW! You and your wife have been absolutely disgusting, and You need to be dealt with!" You wanna try and dress me down for doing nothing? Perpare to lose your job! I've heard a few Manager 'Fires' Customer stories, they are unaware the customer it does not work there either. Only once or twice has such a customer asked the manager if they even knows who they are.
Years ago when I was in college, nearby a police academy, once a year FBI agents would come up and train rookie police on interrogation techniques, witness scenarios, etc. Our college dramatic department would provide actor volunteers to go over to act in these impromptu scenes. The rookie or rookies would be given a situation, and the actor would also be aware of the situation, and they essentially would improv the scene. The rest of that particular class would be in an adjoining room, watching via a TV monitor.
One of my scenes had me sitting in a [makeshift] park. Two cops, a male and a female, approached me as I'm sitting on a bench, essentially and literally only minding my own business. They decide to play good cop, bad cop. Big mistake. The female sits next to me, her legs crossed casually, almost looking like she's flirting. The male cop, standing over me decides to play major macho guy. I was not wearing my glasses for the scene, and is neither of them introduced themselves, I had to lean way over to look at the woman's name plate. Without meaning to, it looks like I was gazing directly (and quite closely), at her chest. She laughed, and I leaned back and I said "Oh, your name is [name]..."
[Gales of laughter from everyone watching next door, particularly as clearly the two were letting me do what I was doing.]
The male cop decides to take charge of the situation, and begins aggressively conveying that they got a report of somebody exposing themselves, and indicating a clipboard he was holding, accused me of being that person.
I did it a little Stan Laurel facial expression of baffled surprise that I suspected would get a laugh (which it did from the next room).
I'm well experienced with Lying Cops, so I asked, "You have my information there?"
    Guy cop: "That's right."
    _"Everything_ about me?"
    "Yep."
I stared at him and after a pregnant pause, I simply asked, "What is my name...?"
The next door room erupted, seeing I was running rings around this bravado cop.
With nothing else on which to go, the two cops took my arms, and simply began to drag me away, as I calmly said, "Aren't you supposed to read me some sort of rights...?"
Those two did not get high marks for that scene.

Story 5, I'd go psycho Karen on this Karen of a manager.
Agree with his wife that the store only hires aholes and what she said because they made him a manager. Ask him how he can be this rude, stupid, and abusive towards someone he thinks is an employee. Ending with how his behavior only makes it even more clear his wife keeps his tiny man parts in her purse. Before leaving the store and calling corporate on him and his wife.
No one deserved to be forced to take abuse from people customer or manager and a tongue lashing of that level is the least they both deserve.

First off, when the manager said "Come here," I would not have gone over. If crazy manager forced the interaction, I'd just let him rant and when he finished talking I'd say "So, are you done talking? Good, now you're going to listen. First of all, you need to apologize to me. Second, I will need your name, the name of *your* supervisor and your supervisor's direct line." Then I would complete my purchase, and head home and immediately send emails to the CEO, the executive VP for customer experience, the regional president, and any other chain-of-command above the crazy manager that I could identify. Because not only is crazy manager wrong for verbally abusing a customer, he and his wife also would have been wrong if they *had* verbally abused an employee (and the fact that they both were willing to verbally abuse someone they *thought* was a customer suggests that they are in the habit of verbally abusing employees).
