    I bought one but my image seems very "Blurry" almost like it's out of focus is how I would describe it like when your binoculars are our of focus...I'm looking at your video and your picture is clear and you can see all the wires etc in that panel you were looking at,mine is just blurry until I look at a Warm or hot Spot,could be the resolution but I'm not sure what the resolution needs to be at lol?? Is there an option to change ether focusing?

      Hi Wayne - it is likely that your camera is just fine. The reason my TG looks clear in the image is because it needs some thermal contrast (temperature differences) to be visually more attractive. That is the nature of a low resolution imager like these. The TG165 is focus free and doesn't have the ability to have it's image enhanced at all. The TG267 would be worth looking at as it's a much higher resolution for not much more money.

    Hi i have one simple question.
    Is tg167 enough good for detecting a termite activities behind walls?

    • @ietechnologies72
      @ietechnologies72  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Josh - it completely depends on the severity. I would guess that if you knew there was termite damage in a wall, you might be able to pinpoint where it is with the TG but without knowing that, it would be very difficult to say with that certainty that you have termite damage in an area with the TG alone.

    • @kickboxerforever00
      @kickboxerforever00 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It won't detect termite "Damage" BUT it Should be Able to pick up a termite Colony in a wall or Floor Or Ceiling...The Reasoning being The FLIR TG 165 Detects heat even in walls....and a termite "Royale Cell" is where the Queen and all the workers congregate and inside that Cell it's keapt warm...it Would in theory Show up at a "Hot spot about the size of a Soccer ball...Ish....Exactly the reason I've bought one because I'm an Exterminator and hoping this can help me detect termite Colonies lol

    Good for detecting hot spots on a motherboard??

    • @ietechnologies72
      @ietechnologies72  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Johny - I wouldn't recommend it for that, it's not quite high enough resolution to see small temperature defects on a motherboard. You'd probably want to look at the new C5 at the very least, depending on your budget.

      @@ietechnologies72 wait really?? I actually ordered one because I found it for a decent price thinking it would be at least somewhat good enough to help me find a bad chip on a board or something :/

      You bet! It’s much higher resolution than the older TG-series so that’s much better-suited for that application.

    Hello, will this tool see things behind drywall?

    • @ietechnologies72
      @ietechnologies72  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This tool, nor any infrared camera, will truly “see through” drywall. What it will see is temperature anomalies that may be caused from the other side of the drywall. For example, if looking at drywall on an exterior wall of a home, you will see any wall cavities that aren’t properly insulated, water damage, poor seal/insulation around windows and doors, etc. If you had a hot water pipe inside a wall cavity, you wouldn’t see it UNLESS it was causing the drywall temperature of that section to heat up more than others. In a nutshell, it won’t function like an x-ray and only sees surface temperatures but will pick up heat transmitting through a surface.

    Hello,..where can I find the serial number of FLIR T165?

    • @ietechnologies72
      @ietechnologies72  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching - the serial number is located on left side of the camera under the FLIR Logo. It won’t be found on-board the camera unlike our other cameras. Our Meters and IGM instruments like the TG-Series, will be found on the “outside” of the instrument.

    my images is in .BMP format while FLIR tools used .JPG format, what to do when i want to import images

    • @laurafritz6503
      @laurafritz6503 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jawwad - Unfortunately, the TG-Series isn't designed to do much post-process or after you capture an image. It's more of a "spot-checker" if you will. With that being said, the images you capture are not radiometric which means you cannot manipulate them further in the Flir Tools Software. You could however use that image on a report of some kind. If you want to be able to take images that will allow you analyze and adjust the images from the software, you'll want to take a look at the C2/C3 or E-Series cameras - we have TH-cam videos on both, just check the side bar or go to our website.

      Laura, its mean TG-165 can't generate image on FLIR Tools?
      if NO then how can i ?

    • @laurafritz6503
      @laurafritz6503 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jawwad - you can bring the image into Flir Tools but you can only create a report with it. There is nothing you can do to adjust the image (i.e. change color palette, image mode, move spots around, etc). If you want to bring it into Flir Tools, take the image(s) off the micro-SD on the camera, and save the in a folder on your desktop. Then, bring that folder into Flir Tools using the "Import" button in the Library of the software.

      Is there any tutorial for generating report from TG165?
      i need to generate report from TG165 for demo.

      Hi Stan - this can work well for plumbers depending on what your applications look like. These are great tools for finding water leaks (hot or cold).

    flir tg165 charging time ?

    • @ietechnologies72
      @ietechnologies72  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Charles - Thanks for viewing. If the TG165 is completed drained of battery, it usually takes about an hour to get a full charge. It has an automatic shutoff on-board that you can adjust that will certainly extend the lifespan between charges. After use, I typically charge my TG165 via USB on my vehicle and although I rarely have to charge it after it is completely dead, it doesn't take long in comparison to other instruments when the battery is drained.

      thank you so much i just received my unite today just waiting for some sorta sign that its charged so far no green light no beep bop noise nothing it just keeps on showing charging . but when i power up the unite it shows full . but is it really full full or no! as it always shows a flashing charging is your unite do the same ? or does it just keep on flashing ? and flashing and so on. documentation that came with unite does not disclose charging times. at all anywhere on its pages. At all.!..but it does work as advertised . including in your video..great job..i am worried in the event it over charges as its new and its new to me. with no apparent information that all is going well in respect to charging ...thanks for you experience with this unite

    • @ietechnologies72
      @ietechnologies72  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When it is fully charged, the battery indicator (while still plugged in) should become solid as opposed to the gradual battery indicator constantly changing. You may want to charge it a little bit longer out of the box before using.

    Work gave us one of these. It seems worthless. Won't detect hot water lines in walls or detect anything that a $20 moisture meter wouldn't detect or your hand/eye. As far as electrical, at the least a $3 harbor freight meter will tell that. This tool is for people that do not have to fix the problem is my point. That guy all pointing the flashlight lol.

      I hear you - it’s definitely not the perfect tool for that application but it is better than using an ordinary spot gun. Ideally, they’d set you up with at least a C2 for that application as it allows you to do some manipulation/analysis of the images.
