    Ingredients for this recipe:
    • 1 ½ cups walnuts
    • ½ cup no salt pistachios
    • 2 ¼ all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • ½ teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon sea salt
    • 1/3 cup sour cream
    • 1/2 cup whole milk
    • 1/2 cup neutral-flavored oil
    • ½ cup pineapple juice
    • 2 sticks softened unsalted butter
    • 1 ¼ sugar
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla
    • 2 large eggs
    • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
    • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
    • 2 tablespoons brandy or rum
    • 1 peeled and cored pineapple cut into circle rounds
    • 5 pitted fresh cherries cut in half

    I understand that some people might be put off by the original. I absolutely love the original, it is how my God given blessing of a grandmother makes it😁
    No matter what she make it taste good!

    I rarely make PUSDC because of the calories. My very southern grandmother's recipe is my favorite one-pan cake recipe. I was starting to trust you after trying a few of your recipes. But no pecans? You're on shaky ground here. Brandied caramel is the cheese in the trap. Gosh that sounds good. Keeping my mind propped open, I'll reserve further comment until after I try yours.

    Oh I so like these techniques!!! I'm sure a nice Macadamia nut layer would complement the cake too! But the question remains, will these burn in the oven? Will those [Deeze] nuts work with that recipe? 😁🥮
