When I was in Boy Scouts in the 70’s we frequently made this for part of cooking merit badge; it is a Dutch oven classic.

Wow. I was in during that time (late 60s, early 70s.) Freeze-dried stuff was just becoming "the" thing. We used quite a bit of that when I did mine at summer Scout camp.
That was such a great video and pineapple needs to become more popular these days, it's such an underrated fruit! I love the tribute you gave to the service men and women and to your country. I'm from the UK, and paying tribute to our country and the people who protect it is something I feel we don't do enough of.

Hey @kentrollins we went camping and made pineapple upside down cake on the fire. When it came it out perfectly, we celebrated like we were the first humans to land on the moon. It was the absolute best thing we’ve ever cooked on the fire. Thanks for all you do and giving us the inspiration to get out there and try. God bless you!

Pineapple Upside Down Cake was my dad's favorite and the whole family took to it. Dad seldom had desert, but he would have one slice of his favorite. My folks only had sons and there was a bunch of us. We managed to finish off that favorite of dad's.

NOW, you're talkin'. My favorite dessert. I've never made PUSD cake in anything but my #10 iron skillet. Perfect size / perfect release. Also, I cut down the milk and add pineapple juice to the batter. I'll have to try your trick at the end. Great show, Mr. Kent.

I love pineapple upside down cake from dutch oven. I put a couple 2 or 3 coals under though. Plus a ring of coals about 2" out from oven spaced about 1" apart. Its what has worked for me. Unless stacking dutch ovens.Then it gets fun trying to get them to be done at the same time, the main course, the side, and the desert.
I made pineapple upside down cake on my grill for my twin boys' 16th birthday. Most moist cake I have ever had in my life. And to this day - 6 years later - no one believes I did that; they just can't imagine doing a cake on a grill. So, with all that said, this video brought back some very good memories for me.

"It's a beautiful day above the grass" Has become my favorite quote and truly best describes each day of my life especially since I found the love of my life. Y'all don't just teach the lost art of cowboy cooking but you also make a difference in lives with a positive outlook. Watching this channel I have gone back to church, started my relationship with the lord and found my dream come true of the woman who will become my wife and a child in need of a good father figure. Me and my 9 year old daughter have watched many of your videos since we have become a part of eachother's lives back in July. My little angel Brooklyn and I thank y'all for all you do in your videos the life lessons to pass down to her and the father daughter time we spend together is the best part of my time with her. Thank y'all from the bottom of my heart for being an inspiration. I would like to ask for prayers. My family has fallen on hard financial times. We get by but the prayers would be much appreciated.
