  • Well I made it to Diorite but the CN didn't! Apparently they tied down in Humboldt. That was ok as it gave me time to the explore the Dishneau/Champion Quarry and find another beautiful location to take video when I come back from downstate! A few clips from last week and the Dault's creek crossing from this week gets me caught up on videos! I hope to bring back interesting footage from downstate!

I love the reverberation of the train horn as it was crossing the bridge and approaching the grade crossing. Nice work, thanks.

Spring was en route when this was photographed and apparently the gun season was in full swing in the first minute of the tape. The unit didn't have a unique style horn as it was loud yet pleasant. Thanks for the photos in Astoria you just feel there's something good around that curve. In its day that would have been a busy agency to work what's a lot of logs being shipped out along with LCL Freight and being the passenger agent. The inspection car was unique as it is similar to one of their air repeater cars they use on longer trains during the winter. Too bad this line is a little density otherwise you probably would have rated a visit with their track car that is actually a modified RDC car. Reliving the short-lived Glory Days of the DSS&A RDC car. I don't think that last car was enjoying its trip

Hi Nancy, I hope you are well on your way south of the Mighty Mac having a great time. What a sight! Bright Sunshine, Crystal Clear Blue sky, to contrast the CN engines bright Orange and Black with a White stripe color scheme. And that Safety Car with just a little lighter shade of Orange & OHSHA Yellow borders on Beige. Spectacular colors for just befor leaf-out. Are those Brook Trout streams? I ask because Somebody went around and put Arctic Grayling or Char in all the streams over by Big Bay. I used to catch 8 to10 inch Brookies, but now I only see the Char and the biggest one I've ever even seen was about 4" long. They are so numerous almost to the extent of being nuisance fish, like Blue Gills are here in the southern lakes. OK, it sure looks beautiful up there. I hope all y'all Yooper's are enjoying the "slow spring" with cool wxr and few to no bugs for a while. Thank you for posting. ben/ mighigan wishin I was Yoopering.

We still have a respectable amount of trout streams where you can walk one and never see another person all day! How many fish they catch is another story but there are those who always do well!

Bridge looks like a good swimming hole. I'm used to bridges that are a bit higher off the water. The higher ya are over the water the easier it is to keep track of the snapping turtles 🐢. We got huge snapping turtles around here where I'm at...😊

The first part of this video at the crossing of Dault's creek was a continuation of the video that you posted on 1 May 2024 because it had the loaded cars of pulpwood on the end of the train. The last part of the video at Nestoria, along the Spur River and crossing the Peshekee River are a video that you took last week and had not uploaded yet. I remember that test box car from a video of the L'Anse Local going to L'Anse and then the same car coming back from L'Anse. When I saw that car coming back from L'Anse, I was wondering why the car was not delivered to the Koppers or the CertainTeed plant. I had no idea when I saw the original video that the box car was a test car. I should have stopped the original video to take a better look at the box car to try to determine what type of a car it was. I thought it looked "different. Thank you for uploading this video, Nancy!

The UP-the furthest the CN line runs north to L'Anse.
