  • Recently I painted my valve covers and I had some people ask me how did I do it.
    In this video I show you how to remove the valve covers so you can paint them too.
    Big thanks to one of my best friends for helping me make this video.

    I’m going to change my spark plugs and your video was really helpful in showing me how to remove the air manifold. Thanks man!

    Thank you for this video! I couldn’t find a single vid to show me how to remove the value covers bc I have a bad gasket and oil is all up in my air intake /manifold. Thank you so much!

    Thank you for this, I have a turbo in the way of one of the bolts, so it’s half turns with a wrench in order to get it, but your video helped me a ton.

    I got a 2012 with a tick tick noise from that front passenger side lifter valve. Looks like I can get to it just by removing one engine cover? Great video 👍

      damn thats unfortunate well either way im taking the valve covers off to see if i can see anything wrong. do you hear it when you accelerate up to about 3k rpm? cause thats the only time i hear it. ive had 4 different mechanics tell me to check my lifters

    • @tracestroub5225
      @tracestroub5225 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These motors have direct actuating mechanical buckets. The cam lobes ride on the bucket. There are no lifters or lash adjusters like in the coyote. I have heard a few 3.7s with the tick including my own. It was the ac drive belt on mine with a build date of 12/13. Intermittent tick on idle from passenger side with belt on, silent with it off.

    Any idea whats that threaded hole for above the oil cap?

      I wondered that myself

    • @TheBoondoggler
      @TheBoondoggler 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sugarkang I find out from a Ford tech: "The threaded holes on the valve cover are usually for wire harness retaining pins. That valve cover is used in other vehicles as well, so one of the other applications likely has a wire harness that passes right above that and clips into it."

    do you have to take the intake manifold off to get the right side? it only covers the left. i already replaced my intake manifold gasket and spark plugs on all sides myself, that was when i had 3 days off in a row, i only have a day and half off cause they have me switching dayshift and nightshift during my days. just wondering cause i think i may have a valve cover gasket leak possibly.

      It won’t take a 4 minutes to remove it so why not to do a clean work
      Valve cover gasket net to be replaced once you remove it ..

    Did you use primer or clear coat ?

    • @edwinmiranda4005
      @edwinmiranda4005  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Josef Alvarez I used some sand paper to sand it down a little, then I used primer. Then about 4 coats of purple and lastly a clear coat to give it a glossy finish.
