    Thanks, learned more about mounting tires then working at the 3 ATV repair shops I've been at. On my first 250es I mounted 12 inch Delta steel wheels with the D shaped cutout that I picked up cheap because 1 of the 4 got damaged. The offset on their wheel is narrower by 1 inch on both sides. I'm always scrounging good used tires for my 4 wheel drives, so I mounted the 8 inch wide tire in the front and the 10 inch wide in the rear. The 110 bolt pattern and stud size worked like a dream and what a look that machine had. Now I've got time to clean up the OEM rims and wait till I find better tires to mount and change back when I choose to do so. Thanks again, Steve the seat cover guy.

      @@mrcbuilds While others need to buy the newest or baddest on the market for their own self confidence issues, I watch Craigs list and pull used but usable tires off the shop used tire rack. I've got 5 three wheelers and 5 four wheelers to support so I let someone else pay a premium price and get them the second time around.

    This is one of those jobs I did when I was a poor high school student and money was worth more than time. I couldn't afford to have someone do it for me and if it wasn't done there was no way that 185s was making it to the creek to ride with my friends. Doing this by hand in the summer heat with the tire rusted to the rim was rough. Worse is doing it in the winter when the rubbers stiff and you can't get the beads to seat. I have contemplated getting a cheap harbor freight tire changer because of a mishap that found me changing ATC 110 tires on a Sunday when the shop I use was closed. Anyway thanks for bringing back some memories.

      I changed tire for a living for several years, it was all about the group of guys I worked with that made it an enjoyable job. Breaking tires down by hand, on the ground, is real work.

    I change all of my tires by hand. Here's another tip for people wanting to do this too. On these small, lightweight rims, I've found that it's much easier to put the rim into the tire from the top for the first bead instead of trying to get the first bead of the tire to go over the rim. For the second bead, I turn it back the other way and put that bead over the rim.

    great vid! I have a 1983 ATC 200. What 9 inch rim would you recommend that has the 150mm bolt pattern?

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can still find OE wheels on ebay. Or you can get new universal rears for that bike. Should be the same as the 200s. Thanks for watching

      Hey Neil, yep you can, I have done hundreds by hand, but I prefer to use a machine, and for the little cost, my time is better spent, to drop them off and have them done. Thanks for watching!

    I picked up a really clean 1985 110, it even has the glove box lid the only thing it's not original the tires, are all three of the rims the same size and can they be interchange from front to back?

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, if there factory wheels and size tires, you can swap them front to back

    you can cut around the tire with a sharp razer really easy too, it helps keep the smoke down.

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have used a sawzall before as well, I will try a razor knife next time, good tip.

    I just got my 3-wheeler (200S). I thought it has tubes in the tires? How do I tell? If so, should I take them out and change back?

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      look at the valve stem, most/ not all tubes will have a threaded nut on the stem bolting it to the rim. If they are holding air, leave them alone, tubes are fine. Thanks for watching and subscribing
