Great video!!! I wanted one of them so badly when I was a kid. It’s so satisfying watching you recondition the plastics. I use your techniques on my trikes, they all turned out great. Thanks for the video. Happy Father’s Day
@mrcbuilds hey dude, I've been hanging in there man, trying to get past some problems ive been working on, but things have been looking up. Hope all is well with you. I love 250x's so much I had to comment, haha.
I can say living and working outside in Florida will either make you or break you when it comes to the heat, and anything to knock it down is better than nothing, because if your outside working for a living, your gonna have sweat bullets running off of you literally on 100 degree+ days with 80-90 percent humidity. I think that it's interesting that you mentioned that the 350X engine has the same foot print as the 250x engine, and that would make for an awesome engine swap. I do see a 250x from time to time for sale . I remember when they were fairly new, but I didn't see as many of them as I did the 300 ex. You did a great job of bringing back the 250x it's a pretty neat machine.
@@cj7fun579 thank you and yes, just 10 degrees is a blessing, i built a swamp cooler a few years ago and it helped but that is nothing compared to real insulation and a/c
Fantastic vid. A sweet looking ride from a humble past. Not a critic, just adding some information about a topic I've spent some time with. The length of the staple is also important, I use 3/8 5/16 and 1/2 inch or the metric equivalent, depending on the placement on the underside of the pan. {I've put them right thru brand new covers from underneath} Old and more brittle covers are great to use over foam that's been patched to give soft areas a little more body before the new cover is installed. I totally agree about not liking the one piece covers, the stitches even make it easier to install them evenly from side to side. Just for the record, without having an amazing skillset like yours, I'm kind of a 1 trick pony and could have salvaged that old seat on a clean piece of cardboard on my tailgate. If you ever get this far up north, let me know and after I teach you everything I know in 30 minutes, and the rest of the time riding or throw a line in the pond for some small mouth.
Sounds like a plan!. I use 8mm or 1/4 staples most of the time and a lot of them. My skillset is just from a lot of trial and error. Lol best way to learn something is to fail a few times. Thanks for the kind words.
I just acquired 84 Honda TRX 200 and restoring it to its Glory was just wondering if you know what the bolt size is for the fender flaps I can't find the size of them anywhere
@@Mrcbuilds awesome man the cylinder was the hardest part for me ended up finding one for about 300$ plus shipping. But did take a year to find😂 keep up the great videos and enjoy that cool shop🙌🏻🙌🏻
So instead of scraping the plastic. Use a heat gun on it. Brings it back to the original look. And so much easier. Some people use a touch. But I find the heat gun is more even.
Hey Joe, i have tried the heat gun a few times, i have had good luck when its just dull or faded but not changed colors. Thanks for the tip and i always like knowing different ways to fix a problem.
Hey buddy this is Derek Hall from Dothan Alabama I watch every one of your shows I'm subscribed I'm a big-time collector I buy stuff to fix up to keep I don't like getting rid of stuff I probably got 60 or 70 machines four wheelers three-wheelers go karts motorcycles I would love to buy that 250 four track from you I know you probably get this all the time but can't really find them like that around my area and that's something I had when I was a kid anyways love to know what you want for it and when you get ready to release this I love to make a trip to meet you and purchase it from you just let me know hope you have a good Father's Day

I’m subscribed.
Thank you and Welcome
What tank is that’s? Have a 300ex that’s I’ve been looking for a plastics tank for
I found it on ebay, not sure of the brand. Fits 250x and 300ex
Wish you could make it to TrikeFest and bring that machine, I would have it a new home next to my 87 250x and others. Great video
you can tell the guy that owned it wore riding boot and the kind with the metal toe tip.
Nice detective work
