      Just wanted to comment about the sword. You may not have to worry about it yet since your son is still a baby but think about bolting the sword to the wall so no one can take it.
      Love the room tour btw.

      Hey Jeff, bought my BX last year and have been upgrading a lot of my films to 4k since then and purchasing new ones (always seek out an offer!), then found your channel this year. Just wanted to say it's been very helpful watching to decide what to buy and also really interesting, thanks for that.
      I was going to ask you what equipment you have so those links are handy. Do you listen to music on your setup? I have a Denon x2000 in my computer room mainly for PC game audio and music (CDs ripped to flac) and it sounds great with a pair of Q Acoustics 2020. So if and when I eventually get proper separate speakers for the TV, i was thinking of similar - a Denon that supports HDMI 2/DV/HDR10 (I think around the x2200) and Q 3020 fronts, 3010 back.
      Anyway, happy birthday, congrats on the move and hope you and your family are doing well. Take care.

      Upper third of the tv should ne eyelevel.
      The tilt angle is equivalent to lower placement but still

    Hi Jeff, Awesome setup you have there. With the TV location - I would recommend getting it lower, it's generally best to have your eyes at about 1/4 To 1/3 up from the bottom of the screen, this will also let you have the centre speaker and tower speakers as close to the screen as possible for a better experience, at the moment you will be having dialogue and sound effects coming from well below the screen which wont line up with the picture in the best way.
    Just my 2cents - have a great day.

  • @elcordinho2202
    @elcordinho2202 ปีที่แล้ว +29

    Love the passion!
    I would just suggest much wider placement of the rear speakers and then aim them to the seats. You can expand your soundstage tremendously by doing that.

  • @HeroinBob91
    @HeroinBob91 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Looking great, just 2 things. TV is a bit too high so you might wanna bring that down to eye level. Also the speaker wire should be pretty easy to run through the walls which would ive an even cleaner room. Nitpicker observation would be the seats being all the way back and the surround speakers being directly above them which is not best.
    But hey aside from those observations it’s looking awesome man, good going!

  • @jjchmiel78
    @jjchmiel78 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Space looks great! You asked for suggestions, so mine would be to compromise some of the aesthetics of the viewing space to improve your audio in viewing experience. First is to move your seats forward off the back wall. You can get some custom movie poster sound absorption panels to help as well for behind the seats. It will help with clarity of sound. Also you really only need enough room in front of the seats for the recline. Added bonus will make your screen look bigger. Second is to put your rear surrounds on stands so tweeter is same level as your towers or depending on final placement just above the height of seat backs, put them to the rear corners of the layout and aim the tweeters to the seats. This will give you about 110 degrees and ideal 5 bed layer speaker layout. Third not spending a whole lot of extra money is moving the Elevation speakers to the side wall and the wall area opposite side of where the lightsaber is mounted and in line with new seat placement. Set your receiver to Top Middle. Your Atmos tracks will sound better. As an upgrade, leave the Elevation speakers where they are, get a second set to put on the back wall where your current surrounds are and upgrade your receiver to a 5.1.4 setup. Lastly is sub placement. It looks to be a place of convenience. Really experiment with placement to find the best spot. Ideally get a calibrated mic like UMik and the free REW software to get measurements to isolate the best spot. Considering you are now on a concrete floor I am sure you are missing out on some of the bass tactile feel you had at your old place. Time for tactile transducers like Crawsons. Everyone's tastes are different, but personally I consider your TV mounted a bit high for comfort and would lower that. From my perspective improving the the things the directly involve the movies like sound and video are the only ways you could improve the space. Everything else looks awesome. I, and I am sure many others, are envious of the collectibles you have that you can display.

    I've read through the comments and all are fantastic!! Which means you have a lot of work if/when you make the changes.
    I'm just going to say what I did after I purchased my LG GX. I painted the room black. I have my TV on a wall mount that I am able to pull away from the wall several inches. I also added black ceiling tiles instead of the white ones. When watching movies, we do not see any black bars. The blend is amazing.

    Nice setup! I'd say maybe try lowering the rear speakers about 2ft to around ear level to possibly get a more immersive sound bubble. If it works better where you have them you can always move them back!👍🏽

    Loving the new room, and so pleased you’ve finally got the space to lay things out as you want. So pleased you went with the LG OLED - you’re obviously loving it (and rightly so). I’ve had mine since 2016 (still going strong) but can’t change it as it’s the last year that 3D OLEDs were made, and I have a lot of 3D disks still. Such a shame 3D no longer supported……. Hope you enjoy the journey with your new space and enjoy your new curated content - you’re so right, it does help mental health and I’ve also heavily curated my own collection recently. Great to see you’re getting on with the Reavon Disc player - I’m fortunate in having snagged one of the last Oppo 205s before Oppo exited the market - both great players! Have fun!

    Awesome work Jeff! It always is a proud accomplishment to have and work on a movie room/ man cave. The hard work put into it is often overlooked by many when they see the final product. But the luxury and comfort is the reward. I just spent 4 hours doing cable management for my room yesterday! I can only imagine how long it took you to set up your entire room. Looks great, and you're happy and that's all that matters. Enjoy!!

    You have space now. In the space where you have the low shelving and collectors editions you can put a decent projector screen. Move the seating in front of it and build a stage for a second row. The back unfinished room with the heater could be perfect for all your movies and office. Have a dedicated theatre with a projection setup and another room for all the media. Just a thought.

  • @Professor5180
    @Professor5180 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You could fit a 77-inch easily into that space. It's only about 64 inches across. I would bring the TV down some. Relocate Freddy and Myers's heads. On-wall front svs elevation is great, just make sure to measure at least a 30-degree angle toward MLP. I would move those rear speakers off the wall and see if you can position them somehow to 90 degrees toward MLP at ear-level. One can go right on that DVD case. Those are the bed-layer speakers and they are best when positioned at ear listening level. If you just have .2 atmos those will give you a good image but ideally placing directly overhead would probably be optimal if you just stuck with 2 atmos channels. However, you won't get movement, but if you decide to add 2 more you can mount them up high to the side and point at 30 degrees and leave the front height speakers. Also, that would be sweet for an Auro 3d layout too as well. If your receiver has it. I love the DVD case with the posters. All in all enjoy it!

    Awesome room. I love videos like this that focus on smaller home theaters which aren't aiming to emulate an actual theater experience. Just a cozy place to sit back with loved ones and watch movies in together. That's what I'm striving for. I don't know why I kept sleeping on those rotating media cabinets for so long, but seeing them here has made me realize how awesome they are. I'll be moving soon, and I bet those cabinets will really come in handy and free up wall space for other goodies.

    I love how you've organized everything! And I'm jealous of your collection but also feel I'll never have that many movies. With so many movies, it feels impossible to actually appreciate the collection in any meaningful sense. I just recently started collecting and I have about 200 movies and can probably think of another 200 - 300 I may want to get over the next few years. But if I watch 1 movie a week, that will be nearly 10 years of watching before I've just seen everything once. I just don't think it makes much sense to own more than 500 or maybe 1000 movies, but in a way it's building your own library that maybe you can lend to friends which is nice too.

Keep up the incredible collection and amassment of stuff. Hats off to you for pulling it off and still maintaining your sanity.

    Awesome tour. Things I noticed as a long time AV enthusiast and have some background in electrical design. I wouldn't place your 4K/Blu-ray player on-top or anything Infact on top of your receiver. The heat alone will play with internal temperatures of your player and might cause issues and your receiver is passively cooled and the top is heavily used to passively cool. The other thing that'll help if you not already on a list to do is use the T-bar grid 2x2 feet and buy some LED light fixtures 2x2 with high CRI rating like 90 or higher and get some dimmable if you can and can play around with placement but many free software to get the space between light fixtures for a even and comfortable light level that will make you double take your in a basement with such good lighting that is well dispersed.

    Very nice and cozy room but I agree with what most people are saying about the height of that TV. Not only is it too high but you got absolutely no separation in those height speakers. They should not be mounted right alongside the screen like that. Just lowering the TV about 2 feet will remedy most of your issues there.

    Speaking from the experience of having a fairly expensive home theater in a basement for around a decade.... You may some day wish you put some hockey pucks, or sacrificial pieces of wood, under anything you really wouldn't like to replace in the event of a water issue. It _really_ doesn't take much of a leak to destroy stuff that is sitting on the floor. Especially a really slight leak that goes unnoticed for awhile. For me, this became a big issue because my equipment itself is fairly rare and collectible. I couldn't easily replace what was lost. 😔

Since your seating is against the back wall, recommendation is to have them on the sides pointing at seating position above ear level. Give it a try! I believe the immersion will be very noticeable. Enjoy the new house and set up!

    Awsome roo. But You have drop ceilings. You can run your speaker wire in the ceiling and then in the walls. Nice clean look.

    The screen size/viewing distance ratio for a required 40 degree vision angle (for 4K) is 1.2. For HD (30 degree viewing angle), it's 1.6. So for a 77" screen, you can be at 77*1.6=123" distance from you screen for good immersion.

    For my stairs down on the walls did dual rows or 11x17 frames with movie posters. That way get a lot more posters. Plus super easy to swap out the posters. Command strip hung. Can find good amount of 11x17 movie posters to fill in.

    I sit about ten feet away from my 65" TV and it is heaps big enough. It's a great room mate.....well done.

    Great setup, A nice practical workspace. It looks like you have a suspended ceiling, did you consider running your cables in wall and up through the ceiling to clean up the wires even more? I also never even realized you were a NE guy. Being in southern NH myself, it's nice to see a fellow theater enthusiast located in our modest area of the country.

      I thought about it but decided against it. And yes southern NH here as well!

      @@JeffRauseo Luckily, it's something you can do later since having your kind of ceiling makes it severely less invasive. My media room ceiling is stud and drywall, so I had to commit to one decision at the time. More work, but it was worth it. Now the only wires you see are the 2 inches where they come out of the boxes.

    Awesome TV! I just ordered a 77” C2 for the family room (I have a 55” C1 in my bedroom) and I’m so hyped! My audio setup won’t be as good as yours though, I just got the LG S80QY 3.1.3 soundbar.

    I would have the screen placed where your boutique blurays are currently, you could lower the TV and then have two rows of seats, and have better seperation for you LCR and rears, and flank the seating with the movie collection and memorabilia, it would also give you room to expand to a 7 speaker setup at ground level

    Thanks for showing us round Jeff, your room definitely brings across your interests 😊
    Not wanting to drill holes in walls either (at least for now having invested in a home theatre system for the first time), I similarly routed speaker wires round the edge of the room. I also tucked them under the carpet (avoiding the tack strip) to help hide them.
    Like you, a 65in is honestly more than enough for our viewing distance, though of course there are handy guides with suggested sizes. I think Stop the FOMO did a nice guide a while back.
    Good luck with the rest of the move!

    Jeff, that room is awesome, congratulations. The house sounds fantastic too. I love American houses, particularly the basements, they are so big and perfect for hobby rooms. We just don't get that kind of set-up in most UK houses. Enjoy.

    The basement's unfinished area could be a excellent opportunity to build a dedicated home cinema for critical viewing and listening properly set up replicating artists intended experience.

    Great job on the basement! That took a ton of work. Glad everything made it there in one piece. For those Media spinning towers, did you buy both of those lazy susan's or just one? Also, what screws did you use to fasten to the boards? Wouldn't the rear speakers be put better down towards your ears? Also, maybe paint the cable raceway the same color, that'd make it look cleaner.

    Have you ever tried a 0.5x short throw PROJECTOR? Fill THE ENTIRE WALL with picture, floor to ceiling, wall to wall? 280" is what I have. With the quality of projectors these days it is stunning in HD and 3D. That is the maximum home theater experience, far better than movie theaters, at the right viewing distance. Cheaper too.
