      Alex M well by the time the rebel alliance was wide spread clones were phased out or retired because of their advanced age. Rex was already looking pretty old two years before a new hope when we saw him in rebels. He fought on Endor but not many clones were around fighting.

      " By the time we'd made our way to the molten surface of Mustafar, it was apparent that Delso had been a busy little bug. All by his lonesome, he'd found a previously hidden droid factory, fired it up and cranked out his own private army of battle droids. Needless to say, this got the men of the 501st ... a little hot under the helmet, and not just because of all that lava.
      Truth be told we'd all had our fill of those gear heads during the war, and we couldn't stomach the thought of going through another one.
      So we blew them up. Blew up the droids, blew up the factory. Damn near blew up the planet. "
      - 501st Journal, " Tying up Loose Ends. "

    This is what Canon gets wrong, even when I was a boy I was very annoyed by the fact that quintillions of droids were shut down by that one signal, you think that the CIS would have multiple master switches to prevent this, like what if a spy ever got their hands on it?

      To be honest, in the real world, we have water treatment facilities that can be hacked by anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of programming.

    • @codylujan
      @codylujan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +554

      i would assume that since palpatine was aware that the galactic empire was going to be taking over soon, they did have multiple switches, but he probably had a master code to even override those even if they got hacked by a spy. a code that only he knew. however, over time, confederate generals and admirals probably found a way around his master code or something. idk.

    • @Icetea-2000
      @Icetea-2000 6 ปีที่แล้ว +114

      Cody L But why would you have a shutdown code in your headquarters anyway? I get the idea, that you want to control the droid commanders from there who give it further down the military command line (like in any other army!) but it seems REALLY unrealistic that you can DIRECTLY control literally trillions of droids in the galaxy to idk, one single position
      I think avoiding a massive shutdown would be the first thing we would consider in our world when building a *ROBOT* army

    • @legorocketraccoon8297
      @legorocketraccoon8297 6 ปีที่แล้ว +178

      The droids were given orders not just shut down but some droids went against the signal. General Kalani the tactical droid decided it must be a republic trick and ordered his troops to stay active. I think the idea of one place that could shut them all down was abandoned after the attack on Naboo but they did have a place that could sent signals or transmissions to them all.

      There wasnt a good or a bad side in the clone wars. The separatists wanted to be free of the decaying republic, the republic in turn didnt want planets leaving the galactic republic fearing that its senate would be seen as "weak" and incompetent. When neither side came to a peaceful resolution. Darth Sidious set his plans in motion. He would feed the fears of both sides, and weaken them enough until he was sure that when we would overthrow the senate, neither side could opose against his imperial doctrine on a massive galaxy wide scale, the mass shut down Of the droids, count dookus death, the cerebral implants in the clones (order 66) all part of his plan that he played out for years with his true nature and intentions hidden under everybodys noses until it was far too late to do anything about it. He played both sides like a violin.

    • @thomaslardinois6383
      @thomaslardinois6383 6 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      True, but that was for less than a day. I imagine something a little bigger. Picture a couple of confederate generals with their garrisons on the run at the time that the Empire is still mercilessly hunting down Jedi (they were kinda past that point in Rebels, sure they still kept an eye out for them but they weren't a priority). These generals come across a Jedi, perhaps long time rivals on the battlefield, but they realize that they are suddenly on the same side of the conflict. The separatists keep the jedi knowing that they will lead the Empire to them. The empire launches a full scale assault to crush the seperatists and capture the Jedi and... yeah... Basically that episode of Rebels but with more butthurt, conflicted separatists with actual feelings and a bigger battle between pseudo-stormies and droids. Something I'd like to see.

    The continued injustice and lack of attention the separatist movement receives in canon is quite frankly sad. We only get the viewpoint of the separatists in a few episodes of the clone wars and the former separatist worlds are completely ignored except in the book Tarkin and the horrifying fate of Geonosys. We know that these worlds and aliens are repressed in general but there is no coverage on it. It is actually quite similar to real world systematic ethnic oppression going on in China (Xinjiang, Tibet) and other places most people only vaguely know about. I would like it to be addressed by the new Canon also more inclusivity for aliens would be appreciated. Thank you for making this video it is a definite step in the right direction.

    Gizor Delso- the only Geonosian worth fighting in BF2...1. BF2-1? I'unno.
    Either way- the 501st Journal was one of the best FPS campaigns I've ever had the privilege of playing. To me, it was the Dawn of War 1 of FPS- something glorious, resplendent to behold. It was frustrating, always having to skirt the line of running out of reinforcements, terrifying when you realised "Wow, I might actually fail the mission if I die here!", and it was thrilling when you pulled through, and a new wave of AI-buddies dropped in to cover you while you did your job.
    The space battles might've been iffy, and could've been done better. Hero Battles could've had more done to them, and some of the missions were nightmarish to play at times- Line in the Sand, I'm glaring at you -but by god, that game was *worth* putting up with its flaws. To see it de-canonised, and relegated to the foggy mire of Legends, brings a metaphorical tear to my eyes, even if we got TCW in exchange.
    The BF series were my introduction to Star Wars as a franchise. I'd seen the films, but I'd never really embraced them as a greater thing until I'd played BF1 and 2 with my brother on the PS2. I'd never felt such frustration and joy at a game until I'd played Rogue Squadron 2 on the Gamecube- god bless you, you beautiful bastard -and I'd never felt that level of achievement, of satisfaction at completing a game until I'd finished them both.

      I would imagine many fell into the hands of pirates and anti-Imperial terrorists, but most were scrapped by the Empire.

    I remember playing the mission where you had to kill battle droids and destroy the factory on mustafar in battlefront2 and it was one of my favorites.

    I'd love to have a feature length movie focusing on the Empire's campaign against Separatist Holdouts. Would it really be that bad if Disney makes some awesome Legends material Canon?

    • @ripzoh169
      @ripzoh169 ปีที่แล้ว

      People need to write their ideas to Disney and hopefully they will listen to their fan base instead of dishing out rubbish no one wants to see.

    In Han Solo the Imperial army was still fighting the mimbanese on Mimban. That conflict had been going on since early in the clones wars.

    It's funny... I listen to these star wars lore videos about the clone wars and most of it I've heard from battlefront 2 for PS2, even some parts are word for word as well.
    (Like the one video talking about the clones perspective of geonocis, the way the lore master described it, it was almost word for word of the clone talking throughout the story. And there was also a mission on mustafar where you kill the bug dude.)
    Don't know if the Lore master is just reading off the script of battlefront 2 or if that old PS2 game was really that accurate to the lore, ha ha.

  • @mortyfray1337
    @mortyfray1337 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    They should include this in the present Battlefront 2. It would be interesting to see imperials fight separatists, Grievous against Vader or something in later DLCs.
