I really like how Maul seemed to respect the Padawan that was “strong enough” to wound him. He not only spared his life by only cutting off his hands, and then only pushing him back relatively gently, when it would have been at LEAST as easy to kill him, but then spared him AGAIN, by just “gently” shoving him back again(he was still conscious both times, even after being shoved against a wall short range). He didn’t even let Savage kill him, which we didn’t see that actually take place, I think if he DIDNT stop him, Savage would have definitely finished off any remaining Jedi/padawans. Maul clearly was very careful not to hurt him very much, which is EXTREMELY unusual, and I think very cool to see him have that kind of respectfulness in him. It seems a lot more like the later Maul, from the Rebel period of time, when he was much calmer and less aggressive and merciless, but strangely at this point, during the height of his ruthlessness!
Or it could be his way of making the padawan suffer more for stabbing him, force pushing him enough to render him defenseless but still conscious to watch his master die and not having Oppress kill him so he would have to live with watching his master die in front of him. Much like how he tried to do to Obiwan with Satine.

Man Darth Maul is the coolest antagonist in Star Wars. I hate the fact they made him those goofy looking metal legs. And they made it seem like he completely lost his mind. I loved the quiet, mysterious, ninja like Darth Maul in Episode 1. No talking just fighting
I like the Clone Wars and Rebels version of Maul. He's a character who, despite his hard work and talent, inevitably loses everything he's ever gained due to his own personal failings. Rather than acknowledge what he did wrong, the man continues stubbornly pushing ahead, later making the exact same mistakes that brought him to ruin the first time. In Phantom Menace, he grew overconfident that he beat Kenobi, only to lose when Kenobi executed a surprise attack. During the Clone Wars, he grew his empire too large and didn't maintain caution, leading to his capture by Palpatine. His attempts to reclaim his position of power, aided by his belief in his mother's power, doomed not only him but the rest of Dathomir as well. By Rebels, Maul has lost most of his former glory, but he keeps trying. He loses the ancient Sith battle station when he doesn't anticipate Kanan's connection to the Force. He constantly loses his chance to make Ezra his apprentice by assuming he knows what's best. By the time he finds Kenobi, he continues to fool himself into believing that he's somehow better than his old rival, only to come face-to-face with his own failures as a person. In a last ditch attempt to do something lasting, Maul tries to fight Kenobi, only to be killed with the very same move he himself used to slay Kenobi's master long ago. In death, Maul finally claims responsibility for his own mistakes and finds a sort of peace as he awaits the day his faults are finally forgiven.
Hey Lore Master, have you ever imagined what it'd be like if Darth Sidious accepted his apprentice again during the Clone Wars? Or What if Maul and Savage killed Sidious?
This comic is awesome. When I saw the flashbacks of maul and Savage Killing, I didn't think much of it, just a rampage. But this sheds a whole new light on the story of Maul and Savage.
Savage was only frozen for a few days at most so it probably wasn’t enough for the sickness to kick in where Han was frozen for quite a while. 1-3 years I think. That an a force sensitive zabrak is just gonna be more resilient than a normal person.
🅱tw; on Rebels; Maul could potentially beaten and would be victorious over the elder kenobi. Maul was tired; dehydrated and truly have to endure the heat waves of the planet.
Tbh unless his time on malicor weakened him, maul should be stronger then Vader. Vader's slow and. Stiff.then again dave filoni is VERY bad with star wafs power levels. He had dooku get captured by pirates and grievous lose to gungans.
Yes plus Maul's mental state has only deteriorated sense Savage was killed......If Maul was thinking clearly and in his prime he would be Vader's match (although the clearly better duelist he was still was outsmarted by vader in their fight in the no longer cannon extended universe). To be honest i didnt like the rebels portrayed him. I would have made him go back to the way he was in episode 1.....saying nothing and being this mysterious figure who killed sith inquisitors, rebels, and imperial agents then dissapear into the shadows whilr stalking the rebels crew. As a finale i would have him fight Vader and lose (barely) then make his way to obi wan for a last fight. Right b4 he defeats Obi wan he turns off his lightsaber and asks of he is protecting the chosen one..then after obi wan confirms Maul finally die peacefully due to his injuries from the fight with Vader saying "Then he will avenge us both" seeing Savage, Feral, and his real mother( not mother talzim) before he dies.
Who else remembers watching this story on YT? Years ago I remember there was this one channel that would upload all the Darth Maul comics with some sick music playing in the background 😩
Does anybody not realize that it's a trandoshan Jedi saving people? They're known for being slavers and here we have one a Jedi freeing people and saving them. Anakin take notes.
Everything clone wars was put to legends, including the tv show and film. But the film and tv show was also put to Disney canon. Legends is canon, its just a seperate canon.
Nothing but utter respect for Master Judd, as he was able to hold the advantage against a renegade Sith Lord and a crazed magik infused brute for a good while. I wish his character had been more fleshed out. In away though, I'm glad he didn't live to see Order 66 (unlike the padawan, Dray, who survives and turns to the dark side).
I thought it took time to completely thaw from carbonite. It took Han hours to recover enough to be useful. Maul's brother thawed and attacked before the Jedi Master was aware he was conscious. The master didn't even notice the Carbonite glowing as it melted.
Depends if you think mace legitimately won vs sidious. People say George said he did,but i never heard that om the DVD commentary. I asked for timestamps and n answer so I think that's a lie made up.
@@fridaynightnicktoons6885 I mean, sidious is a ridiculous beast of a sith lord, so even if the win wasn't legitimate, it doesn't mean Windu is weaker than Maul.
Windu...his style is made to counter Maul's....but man will it be close because its basically the same style...Maul is too cocky and leaves himself open.
Awesome fight, but I'm backing Maul. Better physicality and more consistent dueling and Force prowess. Maul and Mace's skill and power with dueling the Force was extremely close, however. But--again, I give Maul the edge in a good fight due to his physical edge.
@Dylan Emery Physicality doesn't mean that much in star wars. Sidious despite being old as fuck still handled maul and Savages speed and strength quite easily. Also maul is about equal to obi wan. And windu is better than Kenobi so it's obvious.
Only The Clone Wars show is still considered canon by Lucasfilm, all the books and comics made alongside it, except for the Darth Maul Son of Dathomir comic series, are considerer legends.

Episode 1 Darth Maul is literally his worst incarnation, are you joking?
@@supermysticsonic2
No talking just fighting
@@elchedeny9424 So you want Savage Opress.
@@supermysticsonic2
Nay
I would love to see a Clone Wars episode of this comic.
Why would the council put a padawan in a mission that directly involves Darth maul
They went just for havr a talk with Ja'Boag but then Darth Maul showed up.
The same council who would send preteens and teenagers into war.
Obi wan, the original Padawan on Naboo that sliced Maul in half:
Yeah, he’s gonna need a *hand or two* getting through that
The same darth maul who was also sliced in half by a padawan lol
5:42 the look on that kid's face when his hands got cut off is hilarious!
So glad that I pay for premium only to more ads 🤦🏼♂️
The ads are evolving
Wudnt Opress have had hibernation sickness..? His vision affected etc..or was he not frozen long enough? 😉
I don't know if it is true, but I don't think it was long enough for the effects to set in and dark side may have helped him through it.
TJ i think yr right.. maybe being a Zabrak as well he was resilient species?!
plot
Savage was only frozen for a few days at most so it probably wasn’t enough for the sickness to kick in where Han was frozen for quite a while. 1-3 years I think. That an a force sensitive zabrak is just gonna be more resilient than a normal person.
OBI-WAN OWN HIGH GROUND AGAIN !
He was my second favorite jedi demon of light R.I.P
He as awesome he should be in battlefront 2 or just get more attention really
3:05 who TF on the council though sending a Padawan on to investigate A SITH LORD.
(Whispers): anakin...
🅱tw; on Rebels; Maul could potentially beaten and would be victorious over the elder kenobi.
Maul was tired; dehydrated and truly have to endure the heat waves of the planet.
Maul was weakened, but don't forget obi wan is one of the only two Jedi confirmed stronger then Yoda by George. Other is rots Anakin
Tbh unless his time on malicor weakened him, maul should be stronger then Vader. Vader's slow and. Stiff.then again dave filoni is VERY bad with star wafs power levels. He had dooku get captured by pirates and grievous lose to gungans.
@@fridaynightnicktoons6885 🅰greed indefinetly
@@fridaynightnicktoons6885 dooku made sense though, he didnt have a lightsaber and there was like 30 of them
Ironic that Maul enjoyed upending the bond of two brothers when he himself was on a mission to rescue his own brother.
The guy who narrates this should tell stories on a podcast or something because his voice is super calming and i could easily fall asleep to it
Darth Maul endured so much pain from such a young age, he was more powerful than he gets credit for!
Watching this on my lunch break at work today
I'm watching this on my band brake.
“Sees maul and savage bounty available” No thanks I’ll pass
I love how anytime Obi Wan has the high ground, The Lore Master always kinda emphasizes this… lol
There's a lesson in this comic: if you have a villain helpless in your grasp, kill him and be done with it or he'll escape
5:53 Jeez! Obi-Wan looks like a psycho.
Who else remembers watching this story on YT? Years ago I remember there was this one channel that would upload all the Darth Maul comics with some sick music playing in the background 😩
zaaya me what happened to that yt channel
Maul is one of my favorite characters, it's a shame that he didn't get more time in the clone wars or the movies, I want a separate movie of Maul!
5:53 Jeez! Obi-Wan looks like a psycho.
The way in which you told this story was great. Great story, great narration, thank you
I am the best character in the whole show.

The lightsaber pike has to be one of the most elegant lightsaber variations
Yeah I love it
The more I learn about maul in both legends and canon the more and more i start to believe that Maul would have made a fantastic anti hero.
Death Sentence is full of so many jokes at Darth Maul's expense about him being cut in half.
Doctor: *”Ah yes, we fixed this kid’s problem with hand day by Flex taping it back on!”*

Is that the Grinch?!
Lol
Idk if I'm just in my feelings today, or if I really almost cried watching this comic, that Trandoshan saving them really got me.

This is my favorite video by you the clones when they opened fire after watching their brother die I love that amazing
anakin: slaughters an entire tribe of natives
maul: enslaves an entire tribe of natives

Sick burn.
Also coincidentally 501 is Rex's legion.
I love Darth Maul's story in legends! 😁
Padawan: *Stabs Maul*
Maul: You should've aimed for the head. *snaps
Does anybody not realize that it's a trandoshan Jedi saving people? They're known for being slavers and here we have one a Jedi freeing people and saving them. Anakin take notes.
Yeah, I really wish they would give us a proper backstory on this guy
im glad you got a sponsor so u can keep makin vids like this. happy to fast forward
The good stuff always happens in the comics.
I'm kind of glad we got the maul hallway scene in the last episode of Clone Wars for that. He didn't need a weapon he was one
We need Judd in battlefront 2
I just love the *"+10 skip feature"* :)
Legends? I thought this was Canon
Everything clone wars was put to legends, including the tv show and film. But the film and tv show was also put to Disney canon. Legends is canon, its just a seperate canon.
BOB IGOR RUINED STAR WARS NOT JUST KATHLEEN Oh ok that makes sense. Thank you!
@@rupvictoria3017 Clone Wars, as in, the TV Show and the Animated movie are still canon
Son of Dathomir is the canon Dark Horse comic. Maybe that's what you thought of.
It is canon.
I may look like a Demon, I may be called a Demon,....
But I am NOT a Demon.

Why do all the cool people in the comics have to die?
I know Judd needs more attention he should be in battlefront 2 or at least get more attention overall
I thought it took time to completely thaw from carbonite. It took Han hours to recover enough to be useful. Maul's brother thawed and attacked before the Jedi Master was aware he was conscious. The master didn't even notice the Carbonite glowing as it melted.
Han was frozen for years, Savage was frozen for a few days

Isn’t this canon again? since clone wars was revived, we are getting a new season in november.
I think this is canon
I LOVE how the Yoda in this comic looks like the puppet version of Yoda in the original cut of episode I.
This should be made canon.
@@AlexanderGuckenberger I think this is canon, is part of Clone Wars.
Raid Poop Legends is another crappy cash grab. The only thing it has that he said is a lot of characters, nothing else.
I was not prepared for the Padawan’s hands to get cut off
Legends is canon. The original. I refuse to accept Disney’s new fan fiction
Yeah. Kennedy is a sexist, Abrams is a plagiarist, johnson is a troll, and the sequel trilogy is a godaweful trilogy
Y’all ever notice during the clone wars, obi wan always was getting to the high ground in fights, like he was preparing
Who would win? Darth maul or Mace Windu?
Depends if you think mace legitimately won vs sidious. People say George said he did,but i never heard that om the DVD commentary. I asked for timestamps and n answer so I think that's a lie made up.
@@fridaynightnicktoons6885
I mean, sidious is a ridiculous beast of a sith lord, so even if the win wasn't legitimate, it doesn't mean Windu is weaker than Maul.
@Dylan Emery
Physicality doesn't mean that much in star wars. Sidious despite being old as fuck still handled maul and Savages speed and strength quite easily. Also maul is about equal to obi wan. And windu is better than Kenobi so it's obvious.
Man, old Ben just loves his high ground...
Dark horse had way better comics than Marvels star wars ones
Jud is now one of my favorite jedis. I love trandoshans
He's not a trandoshan but he's awesome he should be in battlefront 2 or at least get more attention overall
Way to hide an ad within the video... I had to watch through two ads to get to the ad within the video...
Best Star Wars lore channel to date I swear
Thanks 😄
Wouldn’t this be Disney canon since the clone wars is not part of legends?
Only The Clone Wars show is still considered canon by Lucasfilm, all the books and comics made alongside it, except for the Darth Maul Son of Dathomir comic series, are considerer legends.
No. Disney isn't canon. Legends, clone wars, and the movies 1-6 are the only canon
The demon in the light prophecy was a great touch to the story
