I mainly use grubs. Im in colorado and for some reason thats what i have the best luck with. Either a white grub or one with a red body and white tail. Both work amazing
I live in northern Wisconsin we troll gravel flats in the evening with 1/8 oz chartreuse jig and 4" white mister twister curly tail grub..catch mixed bag smallmouth and walleye..been doing it for years non stop action..8 ft or less !
I love to use grubs. Yesterday around 7:30 I was fishing and I used a neon green and a white grub as bait (I am 14 by the way). This dad and his 15-16 year old son (somewhere around that age) showed up. They were using one of those top water pike lures that made the rattling sound. I’m over there using the standard: a neon green twister tail catching bass and big bluegill. Eventually the guy gets all mad because then he came over and tried teaching me how to fish. I’m just thinking to myself “dude you are the last person who should be telling me this. You haven’t caught a THING.” Then he comes over and starts casting right in front of me while I’m still catching fish the way my dad taught me while he’s still using his professional bass fishing lures not getting a bite. Eventually I out-fished them both. I caught some bass and some big bluegill -all on the neon grub- while his son caught a small largemouth and a small crappie until they just gave up and left. Pretty proud moment for me🎣🎣🎣🐟🐟🐟
I laughed when you said he started casting next to you 🤣. Most people are really nice about fishing so it's funny to hear this guy being agro while not catching jack
I just love grubs. Some of the things I like about them are, they work on pretty much every species of fish, you can fish it in almost every way, lots of people don’t throw them so fish are typically not used to seeing them. And they are usually pretty dang cheap. I typically use white or black, but a shad colour like the grey/smoke you had on here can be the ticket as well. Hell I stock all colours actually. Haha. My girlfriend kicks my butt with those darn grubs. I let her try one as a joke, but she caught fish with it so she keeps on using it. Lol! She will love this video!

The grub is my "if I can only have one" lure. It is crazy versatile, I have caught bass, trout, panfish, catfish, and alot of saltwater species with it. Its not the best to use for any one of them, but it will work ok for all of them. Hands down, my favorite jack of all trades lure.
Your dad just fished,he wasn’t worried bout the big fish finders in the front of the boat. But I guess in a tourney the fish finders are money. Don’t know just have a five inch screen one in front. But way to go dad. Lol

the only thing is, the way you have the bait rigged in the thumbnail should typically be rotated so the tail points up. the proper way would get much more and effortless action

Tyler is the Strike King Denny Brauer Structure Jig a good all-round rig that doesn't excel at anything but does well at anything?

The zoom fat albert in blue glimmer color is my fav but most any brand works fine just pick a size that matches the minnows or shad in your area
