Curly Tail Grub Fishing (Yamamoto)

  • The curly tail grub is a classic fishing lure that has been around for many years. It has proven to be a successful multi-species fish catcher over the years, and for me personally, it has always been one of my favorite fishing lures. Anytime the bite is really tough and I need something to help me catch a fish, the curly tail grub is one of the first lures I grab out of my tackle box.
    In this episode, I tried out a brand of curly tail grubs that I had never tried before: Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits. Obviously, this is a well known brand in the fishing world, but I don't think too many people know that they produce grubs. I took the grubs and some jig heads out to one of my local ponds here in the state of delaware and put them to the test. I was impressed by the way that these curly tail grubs produced for me on this windy day. Yamamoto did not disappoint with these grubs!

    I've been using Yamamoto Grubs since the late 80s. They've always been great fish catchers.

    Best grubs are old school 1990s Bass Pro Shop, I especially love the smokey ones, I got a few bags full still in reserve.

    Try setting the hook more upwards because you are pulling the grub out of the fish’s mouth. Nice job

      Thanks for watching man! I would retrieve them with a slow steady retrieve, as slow as you can go without dragging the bottom. Good luck!

      @matthewotis3594 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can fast retrieve or slow retrieve. Pop like a jig or t rig. Yo yoing it works also. Deadsticking. It's uses are endless. Just hook it up and you'll catch a fish if it's in the water with them.
