Indeed both Scarlattis were geniuses. No wonder there's a street in Madrid honouring their surname. But, with this fandango, the debt is clearly owed to the greatest of them all, another madrileño, Boccherini.
I’ve known of Scarlatti’s prodigious & astonishing compositions for decades. Here, with OSF, for me, it was love at first sight! I fell in love with first violin, lead viola, the percussionist & double bass. And had my eye on conductor who mesmerised me. Oh why am I stuck at the bottom of the world away from my original cultural homeland.
Yes, I agree with you, completely. Dit it not sound sarcastic, I could name it A Covid-Fandango. As a matter of fact, that music is passionate and gloomy at the same time.
Well, technically Naples and Spain were pretty much the same thing in Scarlatti's time. Both kingdoms under the same monarchy for two centuries - first under the Trastamara, then under the Habsburgs. In fact, the Kingdom of Naples was administratively a viceroyalty of Spain. Only the War of the Spanish Succession and the arrival of the Bourbons to the throne of Spain separated the Italian domains from their sister kingdom. Scarlatti himself lived for 30 years in Spain, precisely from the moment Naples separated from it.
Lovely and atmospheric rendition of this Baroque fandango. This orchestra adds great emotion to the piece. I really enjoyed! (Note: I believe this version is based on the fandango of Luigi Boccherini, not that of Domenico Scarlatti. Other commenters have also wondered this.)
Actually, there IS a fandango by Scarlatti - or more accurately, ATTRIBUTED to Scarlatti (spelled “Escarlate”) since it’s not his autograph. Some scholars have questioned its authenticity, but regardless of who actually wrote it, the Scarlatti fandango makes a nice addition to the more well known Soler (also only attributed to him) and Boccherini versions. And this orchestral arrangement is quite exciting. Here’s the Scarlatti version performed by the famed Rafael Puyana on harpsichord. th-cam.com/video/gorM-8HwWsk/w-d-xo.html
Fantastic! The lead violinist is unique!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So is the beautiful girl to his left :) For years I haven't heard something more thrilling, beautiful, a masterpiece of performing! Can someone guide to a list of the instrumentalists on this video?
Wonderfully uplifting! My only small gripe is that there was a little too much echo which I felt attenuated the vibrancy ; Had there been sightly less resonating acoustics, it would have been superb! 😁 th-cam.com/video/V6i1nBWGxmc/w-d-xo.html
marvellous interpretation but it is absolutely not certain that this fandango is from Domenico Scarlatti. There is a matter of debate. Personally I don't think that this piece is from D Scarlatti, this is not his style
The sound engineer didn't alter the volume ratios and therefore this recording shows precisely the problem with the guitar as an orchestra instrument: the soloist is virtually inaudible to the audience.
Dazzling as always, a shame though to have to put up with seeing these satanic and dehumanising muzzles, or face nappies on the faces of these brilliant musicians all the way through. God will always win in the end.
How much you made a mistake, you magnified it (to the point where it was hard for me to breathe, it was a lie and shamelessness) and you kept repeating and repeating. Do you still consider yourself (human) a cat or a dog?
One of the best thing ever made in the music history!! Scarlatti is a genius🔝❤ 🇮🇹 🇪🇸
Indeed both Scarlattis were geniuses. No wonder there's a street in Madrid honouring their surname. But, with this fandango, the debt is clearly owed to the greatest of them all, another madrileño, Boccherini.
fandango probably wasn't composed by scarlatti
Scarlatti was a genious. He has so may beautiful works. The second genious are the interpreters who bring alive this old music to the present
Swooned 🔥awesome interpretation

Spain has given to the world so much inspiration. Great composer has pieces in Spanish styles: Bizet, Ravel, Glinka ...........

Excelentes músicos
Que alegría
Muchas gracias
That was awesome. I'm just an average guy from Texas who highly enjoyed this song. Inspired me to look into this style of music more.
Yes! So many great composer has their Fandango!!
Piece*. A song has a singer.
Absolutely magnificent piece of Scarlatti's Fandago, one of my favorites!
Then check Boccherini out. Grandiose & breathtaking, as with everything Boccherini's.
Excelente!!! Mis corazón escucha esta música muchas veces
Dazzling and uplifting playing of a lovely piece of work

Love Spanish-Italian Baroque music!!!

SOY ESPAÑOL Y MIS FANDANGOS FAVORITOS SON ESTE DE SCARLATTI Y EL DE BOCHERINI, ME ENCANTAN❤
Interpretazione molto equilibrata e coinvolgente. Ottimo Maestro! Davvero tutti bravi, complimenti 💐 🍀🍀🍀
Bravissimi,complimenti,grande D.Scarlatti!!
Bravo, Bravissimo!!!
Fantástico. Som maravilhoso. 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷

Marvellous. Bravo!
Absolutely beautiful! This is the best version I have heard. Thank you! ❣️

What fun!
en una palabra perfecto!!
Bravo!

Its on the end of the video :)

You can find the list at the end of the video.
Bellissima
Excelente! Bravo!
Il meglio del meglio....
! Perfecto! Me gusta más que el clavecín.
Is this transcription publicly available ?
Here we are reminded, that Boccherini was not the first to write a wonderful fandango...
Great adaptation of an arrangement of a harpsichord piece. Scarlatti's authorship is disputed
" Un Ballo in Maschera" Fflks sake!
Wonderfully uplifting! My only small gripe is that there was a little too much echo which I felt attenuated the vibrancy ; Had there been sightly less resonating acoustics, it would have been superb! 😁 th-cam.com/video/V6i1nBWGxmc/w-d-xo.html
Bas les masques !

Why are they wearing masks?
Zorro fandangos the weird ‘black death’ - not😂❤!

I think it was from Padre Antonio Soler -Fandango-

Que pena las mascarillas😔
Mon Dieu, retirez les masques !
The visual is spoiled by everyone wearing those ridiculous face-diapers!
Those stupid masks on the faces are horrible! I can't concentrate on the music.
How much you made a mistake, you magnified it (to the point where it was hard for me to breathe, it was a lie and shamelessness) and you kept repeating and repeating. Do you still consider yourself (human) a cat or a dog?
Since everyone is playing with a mask is this recording coming from the Soviet Russia ?
Don't you think it's because of Covid? safe measures? It was recorded in Portugal, Ajuda in "Real Barraca da Ajuda in Palácio Real da Ajuda "
" Un Ballo in Maschera" Fflks sake!
