      @@k.vn.kNaw, I'm stoked on it too. It means if you need to take it when you travel you don't have to bring two different cables (since I'll always have a USB-C charging cable already), you can just pop the little pad in your bag and you're good.

      @@k.vn.k(1) you definitely have spare cables on your house, in case the original cable snaps (2) you can swap for a longer cable without having to resort to workarounds in case you need a longer connection to charge your watch comfortably (3) less resources if you need to replace the charger - you still have some spare cables, right? haha

    Battery is a major parameter while buying a smartwatch, kudos to Oneplus for building something like this, it's great to see how it all started for them with Oneplus Watch 1 and how it's going right now.

      I would also say battery is major for smartphones, together with price. How can Apple continues with Pro series (not Max) that are so poor in terms of battery, recharging time and price? I got one plus 12, I have 14 Pro, seems to see the present future and past. For people that are tech enthusiast and want to have new product every 1-2 years and a great price performances, Chinese products are the only way. One Plus is making everything too good for the price. No way.

      Guys, you can get over a week of battery life with any Garmin smartwatch. My Fenix had about 6 days of battery life after over 5 years of daily use. My Epix lasts for 10 days. Without recording activities, though. Sure, these two models are pricey, but Garmin also has more affordable ones.

      They're not real "smartwatches" though. The thing that drains battery in these smartwatches are WearOS and WatchOS which huawei GTs don't have. A watch that I know that have WearOS and can last for weeks are ticwatch pro 3 ultra, which advertised can last 3 days in smart mode and >a month in "essential mode" (time, heart rate monitor, step counter, etc. And thanks to it's dual screen display). Excited to see some progress in the smartwatch market in terms of actually usable battery life. But I’d be remiss not to point out that long battery life on smart watches is not new. Garmin, Coros and others measure in weeks and sometimes months with always on MIPs displays. And even their OLED models tend to be 6+ days in always on mode. They just don’t run Android Wear or WatchOS. Which may be part of the reason they are so good!

    • @mbazoka
      @mbazoka 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Thing is, watches not running WearOS kinda all "suffer" from laggy or straight up unresponsive UIs. And when your smartwatch freezes up when you're trying to reply to a notification, it leaves a bad impression on the consumer. Apple Watch might not be the battery champ - but that thing is hard-coded to display at 60fps at all times, and jumping through the UI has that classic Apple-certified smoothness.

    • @JL1
      @JL1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@mbazokaIs there a need for sixty fps at all times though? Especially on an ultra watch that is marketed as having life saving features and being very rugged, when you’re stuck in the woods you probably dont care about your fps but you carry about having days or weeks of battery life

    • @mbazoka
      @mbazoka 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JL1 The "need" is there in the sense that anything less is just not smooth. And if it's not smooth, then it "hinders" the user's experience. Technology should be a pleasure to use, not a bother. Apple may have gone in the 'pleasure' direction too far, but you can't deny the results.

      Because the Amazfit isn't a "smartwatch" really, it's a glorified Fitness tracker in a smartwatch shape, can't do remotely near all the stuff actual smart watches can do like run full apps and games by 3rd parties. After watching MB review this watch, I purchased the OP Watch 2 via the OnePlus Store app on my OP 11 5G... 10% off using the OP app, $50 off for the trade in of my old TicWatch 2, & free shipping for a total of $80 off +Tax.... $ 235.39. This will be the 3rd OP product I've owned. My first was the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition, coming from the Note 5 and I loved it. Since there wasn't going to be anymore android support for the OP 7T's, I leveled up to the OP 11 5G...and I love that phone just as much... Now we'll see how this OP Watch 2 holds up.... So far, I've been really impressed with OP products!!!

    I have the original oneplus watch and I think it's interesting that it beats this one in some aspects, like battery life. I don't have optimizations for it and it lasts me a solid 6 to 8 days, and notifications are also a lot better, I flip the watch and it shows them instantly. Kinda weird how they didn't tranfer those over

    I personally love the fact that Oneplus' charging is just a pad. I mean, You only need the pad and your smartphone's charger (Today's standard charging port is USB-C) for youto be able to charge your OP smartwatch. Less storage space needed when you travel or something.

    But does it allow you to play music directly on the watch offline? Looking for a watch that does that without needing youtube or spotify.

    Currently have a TicWatch Pro 5 which has started to remind me every 5 minutes that it's having "sync" issues with the Mobvoi Health app, and refuses to let me fix it. Given I can return it, get this with some cool looking wireless earbuds AND have change, it's a no brainer. It sounds like this is a ridiculous step up over that one too as it will never look "cheap" which was the only mild gripe I had with the TicWatch's battery saving technique of having an LCD display over the OLED.
