  • Hello everyone!
    10 Minute Obliques and Core Workout at Home | No Equipment
    This workout is all about the obliques! Ten minutes on a mat, 50 seconds of each movement with 10 seconds to move to next! One round bring you to the 10 minutes.
    The obliques (internal and external) are the muscles that run down the sides of your abdominals, and are responsible for spinal and lateral flexion, rotation of torso but they also assist in holding in your stomach!
    There are so many ways to target your obliques such as core movements, single arm or leg work, balancing... this workout will use core movements to activate, lengthen and strengthen the obliques.
    The exercises are as follows:
    Slow bicycles
    Alternating wipers
    Side kneeling reach
    Side kneeling reach
    Plank knee tuck to external rotation
    Plank hip dips
    Plank rotation to hover
    Plank rotation to hover
    Side plank lifts
    Side plank lifts
    With all the videos, please amend this to your own ability. Simply press pause, drop to knees or perform on knees if possible.
    When targeted workouts, try to really focus your mind on the muscles you are trying to work!

    I have to give it to you. You have motivated me for the first time in years to start working out! I used to exercise like a mad person when younger; however, age and life took over a I have welcomed the sedentary lifestyle for too long. I hope that these short workouts motivate me to move more.     It's the FIRST time ever that a fitness coach says to squeeeeeeeeze the obliques on top when we do side plank with lifts; it changes everything and the burn is real (unless my core is already fatigued after your one hour quads and core WO). Thank you for this tip that will really increase mind-muscle connection during the side plank+lift movement ! 💪😀

      ​@@googleuser1225 Too much intradiscal pressure... It might be ok for most people, but I already have a back condition, so there are lots of exercises I never do... Even for someone with a normal back, why risk doing it and suffer from lower back pain, when there are other effective exercises? Bob and Brad's channel is so great to explain this, if you are interested! I'm pretty sure they mention this in the series of exercises do avoid

      @@FlossontheMill Nice choice for your add-on on Philippa! I did the 15 min upper abs workout for my add-on. I always enjoy doing abs after HIIT..and it's nice to just lay on the ground😆. Today's HIIT was awesome!! I loved it! Super sweaty, super fun! My favorite dumbbell HIIT ever!! Can't believe we are now at week 10!! Can't wait to finish!! See you tomorrow😄

      These are my daily workouts and I always do HIIT Sunday morning!! And a 1 hour full body every Friday! I change it up during the week so could be core or triceps etc! I hope you find lots of fun, challenge yourself and grow stronger!
      In the Community tab at top of page, there is a post with suggested weekly training schedule and relevant workouts or of course you may train like me and no particular schedule! 💓

    I absolutely love doing your workouts, I have seen an improvement in my strength rather quickly, the only problem I have is with planks, lunges anything that requires balancing on the toes. I had a foot surgery and lost movement in my large toe, it will not bend. Do you have any modifications for these exercises? Thank you in advance

      Hi, just read this. Regarding lunges, bulgarian lunges could be an alternative, as you could place the whole back of the foot on a chair or bench, so the toe can stay in line with the rest of the foot. I think wearing trainers while doing this will help keep the toe in line and protected, too. When it comes to the plank, unfortunately I can't think of a very similar alternative. You could try reverse planks though, on your heels with your back pointing to the floor. I think it partly works different muscles than a regular plank but may be better than nothing 😉

      And, maybe you could try to put all of your weight on the toes of the healthy foot and cross the other one over or put a yoga block under that ankle to take some weight off the toes. Just brainstorming ideas here, I'm not a personal trainer 😉

      Hello Christina! Quite a lot of the workouts are also for beginners, as everyone goes at their own pace! A majority of the movements everyone can do but either do at a lighter weight of dumbbells or less reps of Bodyweight! Also I do have a beginner workout playlist on the homepage if you would like to have a look there! 😉 Today’s workout is lower abs so you can simply adapt this to bending at knee etc. Tomorrow’s workout is a one hour bodyweight full body workout with alternatives! I hope this helps! Cx

      Hello Christina! Some of the workouts with dumbbells are strength and other resistance so more reps. Bodyweight is resistance training also and can certainly build muscle, make you become stronger and burn calories if that is your aim and overall become fitter! Training bodyweight can be made difficult so try some out and you will see!!! Happy training! 💪😉👏🏻cx
