Just my opinion, this is one of the best videos on power steering maintenance. You showed us the whole process start to finish. I particularly wanted to see how you bled the system since I have just replaced a leaking hose on my vehicle and was unsure of how to get the bleeding done. The manufacturer of my vehicle recommends cranking the engine after disabling the ignition , whilst turning the steering wheel about the same number of times as you did. Thanks for a great video.
Great video, helped a lot. Have two tips from my experience. 1. It is easier to reach the flare nut from the top of the engine. Just disconnect and remove a double hard line in the air intake section of the engine. 2. Instead of using crowfoot wrench and have a huge chances of rounding the flare nut (what I almost did) cut the hard line very close to the flare nut and then apply regular socket. I reached the line from the engine top and used triangle file to cut the file (15 mins of work). Then used 14mm socket -- > profit.
Your more of a patient men then me! I would have lost it trying to get my hands in there and then I would have rolled the Honda onto the street and set it on fire! Love the vids buddy God bless.
Amigo creo que la combinación de tu profesión que es muy hábil e inteligente con tu vida familiar es genial me alegra ver tus videos por la mecánica pero igual veo tus buenos valores familiares. Te envío una gran saludo y te felicito.
Awesome professional video! Great job! I have seen many PS flush videos where they run the car to speed up the drain, but I can't bring myself to doing that. Your video solidified my approach. I will be doing the flush this weekend. Thanks for a great tutorial.
nice... most guys bleed the steering by cranking it up after the hose repair...wrong. thanks for showing the manual bleed procedure it will help a lot of guys in the future! oh yeah was the timing belt tensioner making noise? saw two 3.5 t. belts last week due to blown tensioners. thanks for the vids.
Excellent video very professional good camera work you help me a lot I have a Honda odyssey 2008 with the same issue thank you very much please make more videos on honda odyssey.
6:10 "Oh Shit, that's f'd up". Nicely made video without anything like annoying music or lots of extra scenes to distract. One video I watched had left in some errors that I felt would've better been left out, because the steps that led up to them made perfect sense, and would likely lead the viewer to accidentally repeat the exact error. The fluid reservoir camera was great. I wasn't planning to do that step, but now it appears that I should probably not just change the hose itself.
Nice job. I love your style and comprehensive way of covering the job. I just put a new motor in my wife’s 2012 odyssey and I had to pull the whole cradle steering rack and all. After putting it all back in, the steering has hard spots in it while you’re turning. It’s not super hard but it’s also there with the vehicle turned off with no power steering. Racking my brain trying to figure this out. Any tips would be awesome.
Fix It Angel I did bleed it the best I know how. I moved the wheel lock to lock many times. Still had the issue so I disconnected the return from the reservoir and blocked it while I had someone turn the wheel as I added fluid and drained the return hose into a cup if that makes any sense. It maybe helped slightly but I still have the slight issue
your vids are tha shit! I have an MDX and do my own repairs and your awesome mechanic skills and experiance have helped me out greatly, thank you very much. You seem to know exactly what your doing and w/o a bunch of giberish like everyone else, + the great editing
Hey Angel. How can you do that without engine is running when turning left and right? I tried that on my 2006 Scion TC it wont turn so I have start up the car to full lock to lock left and right. Do it has to get 2 tires off the ground to do this steering fluid service flush? Can this work in any vehicle while 2 tires off the ground without starting the car up to do steering fluid service flush? Let me know ASAP what is your method on my 2006 Scion TC. Thank you. Love ypur channel and video. @Fix It Angel
Good video. A few things that will make this easier. 1. DO use a crowfoot wrench that looks like a flare nut wrench, and do NOT use a normal crowfoot wrench. 2. Drain the PS fluid BEFORE you start work, not after. Use a syringe or turkey baster to empty the reservoir first. You'll have almost zero spillage, and you won't be running dirty fluid through your brand new hose. You also won't have to cover the port on the reservoir. 3. Move line hard line slightly to find the right alignment, and the flare nut spins off with your fingers. 4. You only have to crank the wheel 2 or 3 times, not 6. 5. cover the port on the pump immediately after you remove the fitting; any dirt that falls in there will be impossible to remove. I wiped the flats with a clean shop towel soaked in alcohol, then put painters tape over the hole. When you're ready to install the new hose, peel the tape off at the last moment - perfectly clean. Lastly, cover the flare end of the new hose with a 3/8 rubber vacuum cap; you don't want to be shoving the new hose down your engine compartment and have it scoop up a chunk of dirt. Remove the cap right before you reattach it.
Im that type of guy where i try figure out whats wrong on my car and i go buy the part then it happens to not to be nothing wrong with that part so i end up replacing a part i never need replacing. Oh well at least its change out to a new part!😂😂😂
Hi! I need your help! pls. what do u think is the problem of my power steering wheel that has continues Hissing sound somewhere under the hood when i steer from left to right and vice versa lock to lock? just replaced the fluid and that's the result, thanks in advance
AndersDog94 oh now I understand. Heater hose and power steering hose are made different thickness and heat range. I don’t think it’s a good idea to use it for not it’s intended use. It can burst and or leak. Thank you for the question.
I have a layman's question, say, if I am a slow easy driver, hesitant to high revs, drives carefully and enjoyably, will I incur serious mechanical problems as the ones you're fixing? Since I own a Subaru Outback I'm just acting cautiously since this car (from what I hear), is a complicated and expensive thing to run. **anyone.. pls don't be hard on me and throw stones, I ask in a helmet). Kind comments allowed 😉
My 2005 civic is doing something pretty weird, I say that cause I cant find this problem anywhere on the web. It is leaking (or spitting out) power steering fluid from the area where the steering column attaches to the power steering rack Its leaking all over my floor board and floor mats. (And no, its not brake fluid). no one I talk to knows why or has heard of this problem before, I wonder if anyone here as.
Bro i have a question for you im own a 01 odyssey and since two months ago i starting to notice that if don’t let my car warm for a 5 mins and dies on my and the first stop sing or traffic light its getting annoying i cleaned the tb it got new tps sensor map sensor i just replace the iac cause it was old and nasty so I decided to put a new one it took it to the shop they cannot find the problems i have a tuned up a few days ago also i notice before it dies the rmp drops like it can’t hold idle and it just die and stall it driving me crazy when i start the car in the morning idle goes up like 1,500 rpm then drops a little bit till warm the normal idle i have its something like 700 or 750
fredy Calderon hi bro, I just need to ask just to get more info so I can try to pinpoint the problem. Have you tested the alternator and battery? That's first to do. It's like a road map. A to B to C and so on
Fix It Angel hello bro how are you yes i checked them battery its like 12.45 or 50 when the car is off when its on like around 14v something put loan and everything and still in good range but i notice something since i just got a scan tool the fuel trims are so bad they look -14 or sometimes -24 % negative short term fuel trim bank 1 and long term as well read negative seem i was running so rich and make the engine stall but i check the o2 sensors the heater circuit respond quickly i will try to create a vaccum leak to make then go lean to see if they are 100% good i thinking could be a bad fuel pressure regulator that keep getting stuck and make a lot if pressure in the fuel rail or a leak injector
I tried to do this and everything went ok until I tried to remove the rock and pinion nut I stripped or rounded it and now I can't get hose off, please help
I almost had that same problem. The flare nut is a real bitch. I ended up breaking off the old hose so I could get a good socket in there before the nut was too round to remove.
rafaymago1 😂 you are funny. Honda don’t care what you use on your car. They only care if you bring your car to their dealership and spend your money using genuine parts. Good one brother.
I still can’t get why pretty much all mechanics keep saying to use only genuine Honda fluids on hondas. Is Honda manufacturing their own fluids? I don’t think so.
The rubber glove trick around leaking hoses is so simple and yet So BRILLIANT!! I hate that I hadn’t thought of that.
Great tip: Comparing the fluids on the white paper is a new one for me. Sure beats smelling (or tasting)!

I like the way you replace PS high pressure line and your creativeness. Looks like Filipino style. Anyway thanks for the video.
I like the way you speed up your videos getting right to the point !
i don't want to waste anyone's time. i get to the point. no life stories here to be told. lol
Your more of a patient men then me! I would have lost it trying to get my hands in there and then I would have rolled the Honda onto the street and set it on fire! Love the vids buddy God bless.
Thank you for not having cheesy music or boring, run at the mouth dialogue like so many of these videos. Nice and simple. Thanks for your video!
Wow. Really cool idea how to test fluids!
Amigo creo que la combinación de tu profesión que es muy hábil e inteligente con tu vida familiar es genial me alegra ver tus videos por la mecánica pero igual veo tus buenos valores familiares.

I enjoy your video more than any TV shows. Wait a second, ABC or NBC should air yours..
Ángel 👼, you save the day cutting that hose, last time I got one for my TL it was $34 dollars 💵 here in Miami at the dealer.
Awesome professional video! Great job! I have seen many PS flush videos where they run the car to speed up the drain, but I can't bring myself to doing that. Your video solidified my approach. I will be doing the flush this weekend. Thanks for a great tutorial.
I think that little one is the star of the show
I subscribed because of your footage of the styrofoam block. Epic ! It says so much.
another good how-to with good camera work. plus 1 for showing your mistake too!
Great video angel, i wish we can see sky like that in Chicago thank you
nice... most guys bleed the steering by cranking it up after the hose repair...wrong. thanks for showing the manual bleed procedure it will help a lot of guys in the future! oh yeah was the timing belt tensioner making noise? saw two 3.5 t. belts last week due to blown tensioners. thanks for the vids.
Thank you you did an excellent job. I would have known it's all day job especially cleaning the power steering oil part.
Excellent video very professional good camera work you help me a lot I have a Honda odyssey 2008 with the same issue thank you very much please make more videos on honda odyssey.
hope you are my neighbor.....truly 修车高手,赞
6:06 I think we have all had that moment.
Absolutely lol
Yup, that gut drop moment and realization that you didn’t need to spend more on the repair!
Great video and your duaghter is so beautiful, God bless your family.
Tôi bái phục ah về cách thay thế phụ tùng và đồ nghề quá hiện đại..thanks you

True professional, likes your videos, excellent.
dear friend hi. you have a beautiful daughter. You have a tool that I have not seen before. very well. Доча очень хорошая!
Excellent video. Truely professional. I was wondering if you had any trouble with the sensor being in the way when you put the new pressure hose on..
J Men hi, thank you. No trouble with the sensor. Just took it slow during installation. Have a great day.
Best video online for this repair. Thanks.
Just earned a subscriber! Keep it up!
You make it look easy. That i would do it myself.

Can you provide a link to a the "Crowfoot Wrench" that you are referring to.
Nice, smooth and easy
GREAT JOB AMIGO
Good job my bro
your daughter is adorable
Mate, how did you do the slow tracking (sliding) shots?
Just wanted to know because I use it in the airlines but I can only use it to remove not to be stall. Retired now just work part time on helicopters
what was the stuff in your resvour?
Like your gun ho altitude, not scared to take it on
Im that type of guy where i try figure out whats wrong on my car and i go buy the part then it happens to not to be nothing wrong with that part so i end up replacing a part i never need replacing. Oh well at least its change out to a new part!😂😂😂

Great job!
What does it mean if you have some bubbles?
Great video!
How long it take for you to replace something like that
Great job thank you for sharing

watching your cute girls grow up and dad gets to have car fun
very nice bro
I replaced the power steering outlet hose now the pump makes a lot of. Noise . Why?
U always say oh shit... Like what ever happened wasn't meant to happen at all... Hilarious when fluid leaks too hahaha
i just replace 2000 acura tl rack and hoses why it makes whining noise. Already turned steering wheel left and right?
Turn of car. Wait 20 minutes. Turn on car and do it again. The bubbles need to go down.
Don’t beat yourself up cause u slipped up a curse word we all go through that. I would be mad to if/ when I make more work for myself.
good work ...
You are blessed
can the heater hose take power steering fluid? its not going to melt af leak?
AndersDog94 sorry I do not understand your question. Please rephrase your question. Thank you
like fuild line, if you use a hose thats not meant for fuild it can melt/start leaking.
AndersDog94 oh now I understand. Heater hose and power steering hose are made different thickness and heat range. I don’t think it’s a good idea to use it for not it’s intended use. It can burst and or leak. Thank you for the question.
Where are you come from mr angel
Flex tape?

yes if you drive like a slow poke car will last longer and also if you maintain it. itll last you along time without needing major repairs.
Gates is so much better quality
I had a terrible time doing this on my 08 odyssey

yes test fuel pressure regulator. that could be the problem. tell me what happens. good luck brother
Fix It Angel today i tried to check the evap canister solenoid valve and it was fine
fredy Calderon try cleaning your throttle body. Tell me what happens.
I tried to do this and everything went ok until I tried to remove the rock and pinion nut I stripped or rounded it and now I can't get hose off, please help
You did not use the tool that he used. Happens often. Mechanic time.
I almost had that same problem. The flare nut is a real bitch. I ended up breaking off the old hose so I could get a good socket in there before the nut was too round to remove.
Shoot mine definitely didn't come off that easy. After getting it off can see red loctite was applied to it.
Perfech
