Just followed your instructions with my 06 Civic and I feel accomplished - Mahalo! Steering is easier and I haven't heard the whining noise return...yet. I managed to spill a little p/s fluid upon removing reservoir for inspection of screen. I did notice it went dark brown again, so I probably have do it all over again and pray it's nothing more expensive.

Great vid, I think your method is the safest way I have ever seen for the pump and system! I wonder if I pure one bottle then turns lock to lock to pull all remaining dirty fluid in the hose, jack, and pump before reconect return hose to reservoir and continue until done all your steps after. Should it better? Thank for your response.

Good Stuff! Looks like some ingenious methods here and I have never done this. Doing research now.
When you add PS fluid before performing the wheel turn-to-lock method, how much do you add? I want to say at least halfway so that the old fluid is pushed out?
Sorry, still learning here. I may have to do the turkey baster method and trying to learn here.

Is the engine running when you're turning the steering wheel?

    • @WildBikerBill

Yes - it has to to drive the steering wheel fluid pump. Turning the steering wheel causes the pump to move fluid through the system. Once the fluid is out, shut down the engine.

Doug Witherby hey Doug, do they sell Honda’s in the US? What are you trying to say?? You know what, stop thinking too much into it.
You just a another guy trying to justify his existence. Get over it and ask yourself. “Was this video useful or am I just nitpicking?”
Dude, just leave my channel and don’t ever come back to comment. Your negativity has no use here.

Doug, you have to admit, it was a cheap shot. It’s ok though. I get it social media makes people say things online we wouldn’t say in person. We just have to fight the urge. It’s a pretty good, damn video though. Fast, informative, no bullshit, and even shared links to buy parts. What else could you want? Besides, that Honda was probably made in the US anyway.
