    • @2strokejunkie686
      @2strokejunkie686 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I could be wrong but from what I've read that's not why Yamaha went with their rearward placement, I've got a big long article on the bike including period mods for racing and how to install the protec rear suspension kit etc, that I aquired with my protec equipped yt175. Anyways in short they found out in R&D that it gave better stability on straights and while braking/turns etc, never once mentioned it being patent related. I absolutley love my tri motos, own a stocker and a "race converted" with ported cyl,bassani chamber, 30mm carb/custom reedcage and manifold, ytm200 forks and tripple clamps with 200x front wheel and the super rare protec suspension kit, wider blaster rear axle and hubs sporting 20in tires...absolute beast, gives my tecate 3 hell in the tight shit and will eat 200xs for breakfast.😎🍻

    Thanks for the nostolgia guys! I grew up riding 3ws like Rhonda all over the hills of PA with friends. Couple things that came back were how you had to basically slide your butt all the way on the opposite fender to take full speed turns without 2-wheelin and right as your back wheels are going into the jump you hop on the pegs and shove your heels down so you get extra lift from the shocks/bouncy tires. Just make sure to pull back a little on the handles in the air so the back end doesn't lift. Landing on the front wheel is a cookie toss for sure. LMAO.

    😂👍👍 Owned both models basically from new and yes Sir's the Yamaha is top end the Honda has being a 4 stroke of course is for the deep woods and rocks. I know my Honda 110 and 125 had low and high range transmissions which made rock challenges like that a breeze LMAO! I know I owned the 110/125 at the same time to compare the slight difference in power the 125 was a couple years newer so it was better refined over the 110 I remember the 125 was a 85 - 110 83. The Honda 200s was a 84 and Yamaha 2 stroke a 83 I believe. BUT I didn't have the 2 bigger ones to compare myself! Only took me 30 yrs into the future to finally get the hard truth answers I've been pondering since my youth! Lol Love this stuff guy's, it really never gets old!

    I had a Trimoto 125. Honda Big Red couldn’t touch it. And my brother put a cylinder, piston, and head from a YZ125 on it. Got 65mph out of it then. But it ran hot.

    steering was the main problem with these bikes back in the day, to get around a turn with any speed you need to 2 wheel and if you 2 wheel too hard you roll and dont 2 wheel and use your leg as a pivot because you WILL run over your leg and pull you right off the seat. I cant remember how many emergency runs I went on because of these trikes.... good luck, have a blast

    Hahahahahaha how freaking cool!!!! I still have my 84 110 ATC and it runs like a champ. I rebuilt the carb in July and replaced the fuel lines, and that's it other then the occasional oil change. My kids love riding which is the coolest part.

    the tri moto is a nice little 3 wheeler they have a great sealed brake and chain nice airbox with a snorkel and i like the way the back plastic and seat can come off out of the way made mine were the hooks are to hold the seat on went around the shaft they hook on so it wouldn't fall off when you just want to pull the seat up to work on carb and stuff then i put hasp on it right under the tank area to hinge it so it's like a hood they are neet lots of pep for a 175
