After 13 years of daily driving manual transmission cars I finally bought an automatic 3 months ago. If I knew this GRC was coming with an auto I would have waited....
Same here living in Los Angeles but once I saw an auto in the Yaris in Europe + Engine, suspension upgrades. I knew they were coming so I've been patient. Getting the Auto since this will be my daily in our nightmarish traffic + the wife can't drive manual. I've convinced her it's a regular yet zippy corolla 😂😂😂 and sits 4 people. Already got her a RAV4 so we're set.
In my People's ancient language, there is no differentiation between the concept of "race car" and "rental car". The elders have passed this knowledge to me, and I'm passing it to you.
That is the 1st hot hatch I have seen in decades! I am a bit conflicted on it however. In my youth, it would have been adequate and cool ASF. Having a V8 hot rod was cooler. As a commuter, it lacks the greatness of my 1st commuter. Which was a Honda Hatchback LX 5 speed. I was getting 34MPG. Which is beat to hell by some of the commuters of todays world in MPG. As a performance car, this GR is also beat out by many things I would choose over it. (and have) So, it is super cool. Just not sure where it would fit or would have fit in my life.
Can't believe 300hp out of 3 cylinder hook up to 8 speed automatic which sounds smooth shift. 50k might sound high compared dual cab truck but performance car thats reasonable.
Interesting that they had a “void the warranty” day, for one of the cars they’re trying to pitch to people. Did they warn everyone that this was the fastest they will ever be allowed to drive this Toyota les they void the warranty on the fragile drivetrain?
@@Georgewashington-o7m , then why are they catching on fire? Why is the warranty void if you drive over 85 mph? For a TOYOTA! That doesn’t sound like they have a lot of confidence in the drivetrain of that car.
geico old fisher man: - Dangling the name sports car from the fishing line -" Ohh, Oh, Careful. You almost hit 80 miles an hour there. You'll void your warranty"
I saw another journalist testing it, promising not to go over 85. Not sure if he was trolling. They did add tranmission cooler, but not transfer-case cooler which actually needs cooling.
@@seb5945 It's not a troll, Toyota voids warranty if you go over 85, whenever they wish, and system records when you do so. So $50k sports car, you can not take to track.
Toyotas auto transmissions were great until recently the 8 speed they currently use is having issues at the moment the average age of a Toyota Buyer is 42 yrs. old down significantly from what it was years ago for ex my late maternal grandmother bought her first Camry aged 56 in February 1990 the three cars she'd owned just prior to that were a 1978 Oldsmobile 88 a used 1981 Cadillac Coupe Deville and a used 1984 Buick Skylark limited respectively and she chose the Camry for its ease of use comfortable ride and fuel efficiency obviously though the GR Corolla is a performance Oriented model same as you would in something like a Chevrolet Corvette or Mazda Miata you expect a manual transmission rather than an automatic. oh and from Sept 2019 as a 2020 model and Sept 2024 the C8 Corvette has produced 169,135 units so in 71 years of production around 2,000,000 units have been produced where as in 42 years of US sales the Toyota Camry has sold around 14 million units in the US
When is tfl buying one? Seems like perfect neutered version of a great car they would buy and get no views. But at least the videographers can drive it.

Did you become paralyzed or have a leg amputated? I have also heard this can be a symptom of low testosterone.

Im enjoying Nathan’s content, keep it coming brother 🫡
❤❤❤ Nathan on the track is fun. He's a regular Large dude in a small car driving dirty! Great content TFL
That front windshield A pillar is almost flat with the hood so it's can be a big PITA to get in and out of if you are tall😒
GR corolla is worth every penny I quite like this new facelift face
Nathan, more than just Ca bureau guy but man on the street! Love seeing more content from you bro!
Couldn’t agree more, Nathan is awesome.
2:30 The security guard smoking 😂
I love the grey metallic paint
Can you take the auto past the speed limit without voiding the warranty?

@ericcarabetta1161 how many have caught on fire. Be honest...1?
I wonder how the road comfort/harshness is.
This would be an excellent daily car
Lamspeed has the Yaris version with the same engine up to 810hp
Nathan!!!
my next car
The automatic does NOT have more power than the manual. All new 2025 models have the upgraded torque
Hope they fixed the fire issues .
Not saying there isnt an issue but the car that started on fire was in multiple accidents and was a salvaged vehicle
Nope, that part wasn't fixed lol They ignored us who asked for extra cooling in the rear so.
Too bad they discontinued the CHR Put this drive train into a Toyota CHR and it would sell .
geico old fisher man: - Dangling the name sports car from the fishing line -" Ohh, Oh, Careful. You almost hit 80 miles an hour there. You'll void your warranty"
No the "real question" is "will they still void warranty if you drive over 85 mph ?"

Good car but we need Toyota’s confirmation if the facelifted GRC won’t caught on fire exceeding 85mph.
It would be nice if they gave us an attractive car
That isn't just the automatic. All new 2025's get the new front end and the 295lb/ft of torque.
Wonder if they gone stop catching fir
Fire
Bring back the manual
Why are they encouraging driving at speeds which void the warranty?
This car was made with idea to be fun and exciting. Automatic transmission is not fun not it is exciting. Therefore, automatic, does not equal better.
Will and is selling like hotcakes
too bad all the dealers around me in SoCal only order 1 at a time, if they even order one. And huge over msrp mark up
Is it a dual clutch or a conventional automatic?
EDIT IT IS A CONVERSATIONAL AUTOMATIC WHICH IS GREAT !

you need to be under 85 so that it don't catch fire!!
