    This was honestly Michelle Yeoh's greatest role ever. She got to do it all: action, comedy, romance, drama, throughout multiple roles (different versions of her character). She was absolutely fantastic

    I loved this movie because it's the first movie that I've really feel a deep personal connection with. The ideological struggle between nihilism and absurdism mirrored my struggle with depression years ago. Therapy didn't help because the mindset that made me passively suicidal was totally rationally consistent. Nothing the lady could say to me changed my outlook because I knew I had the facts straight. I was so desperately hoping for something to prove me wrong, when really I just needed to change my perspective and realize that I don't need to matter to be happy. Now I enjoy being alive and never want it to be over. This movie felt like watching my current self save my past self's life.
    If you are depressed and feel like nothing matters and your life is pointless, consider this: The idea of mattering is entirely a human concept. We made it up. So we as individuals choose what matters to us. Think about what you want to do in life, and that's what matters to you. If you stop living now you'll never have the chance to complete it. Your creative visions aren't going to be fulfilled by someone else. Your bucket list isn't going to get checked off unless you live to do it. Some day when you're old you will look back at your life. Make sure the list of things that future you regrets not doing is as short as you can make it. That is how to find fulfillment in life.

    • @vivh18
      @vivh18 2 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      That's a good way to look at it. It's like that old idea that the meaning of life is looking for meaning in life. It's not the destination but the journey.

      Thank you for putting into words what I have also experienced. I used to have a paralyzing fear of not having a purpose. I started finding happiness and joy when I realized this is the only life I can be sure of, though my life is no big deal, I get to choose what is valuable. We choose what matters. The universe doesn't have to revolve around us humans, nor do we have to be significant in the grand scheme of things. Just be kind to yourself and know that your life has value, and that the humans around you are equally valuable. And fulfill your dreams and ambitions one day at a time.

    • @Baerli92
      @Baerli92 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And I would like to add that you die anyway. You cant change that. So why hurry?
      You dont know what comes next, there could be something afterwards that isent really better, I prefer to try find some happiness in this life no matter what comes my way.
      People get worried for me when I say I wouldent mind dying tomorrow.
      But I prefer not to bc I want to read more good books, watch fun movies, finally my own dog and finding other sorces of happines for me.
      Keeping that in mind helps me personally.

    You guys are awesome both with the offensive moves but also with the amazing ability to make your opponent look great. I can't imagine how hard it is to make it seem like your opponent is really using that much force. Love you guys.

    This makes me so happy!!
    I spent a few decades choreographing fights for stage (mainly sword-fights), this reminded me what a wonderful, painstaking, collaborative process it can be. Congratulations on some brilliant and hilarious work.

    It's cool to see Michelle schooling them a little bit. They're the choreographers but she's the master here.
