In another interview, she said after that motorcycle scene Jackie Chen came to her and said "Are you trying to kill me?" because he needed to do a more daring stunt to top hers. He ended up hanging onto a rope ladder attached to a moving helicopter.
Michelle Yeoh has done more dangerous stunts in Supercop than Tom Cruise has done in all his movies combined. That motorcycle onto the train was insane, and rolling off the train onto the car, wow.

Some of those stunts were bortherline negligence. Not even bortherline. So many of Jackie Chan movies wouldn't fly in today's indutry and I think that's okay. Safety of the actors should always come first.

It's great that filming now has safety protocols but gotta respect what they had to do back in the day to reach where they are now. And not wasting that opportunity to open it the floor to other immigrants and Asians in film

@@MsJenniferxxx Well, since you didn't link anything the past 10 months I've looked up some of her comments about Chinese men. Most of the results linked to her calling them chauvinistic pigs (and that includes Jackie Chan)... not that I know much about Chinese men in particular but a comment like that doesn't strike me as surprising or extreme.
In fact that search got me to read a few interviews with her that made me respect her even more, so thanks for that.
She's really had a hell of a career and somehow, she's still peaking??? Just a total legend. And I love how basically the directors/writers are now writing the parts for her. As they should.
She's peaking in Hollywood. She's been in Hong Kong film for like, over 40 years, which is crazy to think about. Largely doing a lot of the same action roles, and even expanding into dramatic roles with greater depth.

Her sword fight in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was one of the best fight scenes in film history to date.

I'd recommend you take a look at her final fight scene in Royal Warriors where she squares off against a deranged Chinese Vietnam war veteran trying to hack her apart with a chainsaw....she kicks the shit outta him and I'd recommend literally all the fight scenes in her 1992 film Wing Chun especially the Tofu fight

Wing Chun is underappreciated; Donnie Yen was also in that flick.

Michelle is one of the few actors who I'll see the movie or show regardless of plot if I see her credited. She is remarkable and has a body of work that speaks to how brilliant she is.
What I love about Michelle is that she clearly has a love for filmmaking both in front and behind the camera. She really seems like someone who only wants to be a part of a project that she truly believes in. 🥰
She used to be a beauty queen and only entered the movies because of her gorgeous looks. She could have been just another pretty face wallflower. Instead, she made herself into one of the very best martial arts stars at the height of the martial arts industry (coming from zero background as a martial artist), became one of the most renowned stunts woman, and then turned her career in mid-stride to become one of the most iconic and amazing actresses working in China and in Hollywood. Can you imagine anyone else who has been 1) A Bond girl 2) Starred in a classic like Crouching Tiger, 3) been in Star Trek, 4) Crazy Rich Asians, and 5) Everything Everywhere All at Once? Her range is simply astonishing. Here she is at age 59 and it can easily be argued that she is at the height of her career right now. How can you not love her?

As I recall her body of work with her in this video, I am aghast. She has done quite a bit, with so much range. This woman is nothing short of legendary. Now that I know that I wonder what James Cameron has on store? (This from someone who didn’t really like the first Avatar movie; it wasn’t my kind of movie)

Saw EEAAO last night. Highly recommend it and Michelle Yeoh is one of the GOAT. More than just an action star, she has range and depth in this movie. My thanks to everyone who worked on this movie; it was highly entertaining, bonkers and heartfelt. So creatively original. I am still wondering what I just saw and (whilst not perfect because no film is) and just want to thank all the creators of this film for it. 👍👏

I'm sad that so many people are not aware of the films she made during her time in Hong Kong, so many awesome action films like Yes Madam, Royal Warriors, Wing Chun, The Heroic Trio and Executioners, Silver Hawk, Magnificent Warriors, and so much more....I suppose 80s and 90s Hong Kong action films are too much of a niche for most people nowadays

I work in a place that gets a lot of celebrities and the employees love waiting on Pierce Brosnan. Everyone thinks he's so nice. Michelle Yeoh is such a class act. She's so brave to do all these stunts!
Michelle's poise, confidence, and wit are radiant. You can see how she's incredibly proud of her work while more than capable of being able to laugh at herself, and it makes her such a joy to watch and listen to.
Wing-Chun (1994) was the first martial arts film I experienced that had a female main character who was the hero of the story. I loved it! I'm not sure what Michelle Yeoh thinks of that film from long ago and whether it was a positive experience for her or not, but I became a fan of Michelle Yeoh after seeing that film.

Michelle Yeoh is the epitome of dedication to her work and career. You can only sit there with an open mouth.
Gosh dang she really took CRA to another level single handedly. As a Singaporean with my country represented, that was a dodged bullet thanks to her. Could have been a "Hangover movie", not that those were bad films, just not one that would have resonated the same way the current form did. Michelle's performance in CRA was just chef's kiss.

@@beausheffield1895 a hangover movie would be chaotic with no meaning, as the film is called crazy rich asians it seems like it would be people having insanely extravagant parties and chaotic moments in where the night is heading (maybe people doing drugs and lots of alcohol for example) whereas it was much classier with a real focus on the individuals effected by their culture and social circles, how it progresses and how they handle it

She’s so lovely and inspiring and so so funny. I love her so much in Star Trek Discovery. If it weren’t for her, I honestly wouldn’t even have watched season 1.
I always recall about my wife talking about Hollywood crushes.I told her I have a Hong Kong crush. It is Michelle Yeoh. She didn't know who I was talking about. She said" well she won't be so pretty after I use my baseball bat" and I laughed hysterically. My wife thought I was laughing because she was being funny. Years later we were watching Crouching Tiger and asked her if she remembered my Hong Kong crush because that lady kicking Zhang Ziyi's ass in the sword fight is Michelle Yeoh. Her reaction was priceless. She granted me permission to keep that crush.

Love her. Back in days, where all her martial arts (hongkong) movies were my favorite to watch in our local cinemas in the Philippines and even collected cut-outs poster of her movies from the newspapers. Big fan of MY since then.

ahhh, I watched Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon back when I was 16 in a movie theatre in the middle of nowhere while on summer vacation with my girlfriends and till this day it's one of my favourite movies of all time - and that is 90% because of Michelle's character and portrayal
What is more amazing than her work: she did not age much since Wing Chun. All I could do is repeat what others already said, + fan for life, She is the most badass female star in the Galaxy

It's weird that she was actually trained in dance at a young age and still she combined that with her later martial arts training, which resulted into the most flawless set of stunts and combos we've seen so far.
So happy for her for everything she has achieved in her career.

She has great presence on the movie screen second to none. I never realized how crazy some of those stunts were she did. Fortunately, she survived them without crippling herself permanently!

Everything everywhere All at Once is was a fantastic roller coaster ride and Michelle was just powerful, funny and engrossing. Must watch for anyone who like film.

This is awesome to see! I've always felt she has never gotten enough credit. I still remember seeing Supercop when I was kid & never believed they were doing all those stunts themselves until I watched a full documentary on Hong Cinema back then & this movie was talked about among many others. Then after Tomorrow Never Dies I remember thinking how beautiful she was, but even then I never really fully appreciated her until the moment I first saw Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon in the theater. That movie blew me away back then & that's when she truly became a matron of bad assery to me lol, & I've kept up with her ever since.
