This 100% works, just finished doing it on my 2010 2.5s with stock wiring harness. Thanks for the video! Couple of notes: I found the turn lever on a 07 3.5se at my local yard. If the plugs are already there taped on but don’t work with the new lever, they’re probably corroded and need to be replaced.
Nope no extra wiring other than replacing the plugs. I'm pretty sure the wiring harness is the same on both models, the only difference being that they didn't add in the features from the sl. I assume they used the same one to save money, but it also makes things really convenient.
Great! Sounds like me and you have a similar setup, also got my combo switch off a 07 3.5se, do you know if same gen maxima combo switches would work also? There were a couple Maxima's at the junkyard and imo the switches look pretty cool. Just waiting on the fog lights, should come tomorrow, if the pre wire plugs are corroded, what would the best way to go about fixing them or changing them out be?
Yea the combo switch should just be plug and play, from what I remember it uses the same connector and fits perfect. As for the plugs, if the fog lights you ordered come with a wiring setup you can just cut off the old ones and connect the new ones. If they don't, you could either get new ones online (they're pretty cheap last time i checked) or check the junkyard. I just used some old push in wire connectors I had for copper so that the new connection and wires wouldn't corrode. If they're corroded you'll either get no light or dim inconsistent light so its pretty easy to tell if they need to be replaced. Also the entire thing can be done without taking the bumper off if you just turn your wheels and use the wheel well.
@@SamIsPink thanks for the reply, I got the fogs connected to the pre wired harness, but it seems like the pre wired harness plug doesn't reach deep enough to make contact with the fogs, or maybe it's corroded. I'm thinking I'll have to cut the pre wired terminal plug end off and use a splicer kit to attach the copper wires to the new plug that comes with the kit. I'm not that great with electrical stuff so hopefully that makes sense, but would this be a valid way to tackle the problem, or be similar to what you did?
Good work man! I never bothered doing it on our last lease car. I knew how to do it but the dealer kept telling me that it has to be reprogrammed and would cost $140, you just proved them wrong! Too late for me but will for sure be able to help others!
IMPORTANT TIP 2:06 if you look at this clip and you DO see wires in all the spots then your car is already equiped with fog light engine harness which means its already wired to plug in fog lights. I was lucky after watching i noticed i do have all wires. I looked down in front of my battery and saw the fog light plug taped to the harness! All i needed was the wheel switch and lights and plugged right in!
@FlipperGrapesLover the plug should already be on your harness, look directly down in front of the battery, you should see the clip taped agaist the harness, just untape and plug the fog lights in, you will also need the fog light brackets that replace the plug in the fog light holes on the bumper, these will then hold the fog lights in place. Get the 2.5l steering column switch.
Are those two Leads on the new harness power? The blue and red? What wires go to those from the fog light harness? Red to what and blue to what? Thank you.
@Jharp82 its in the link. $150... Please note if you think this is pricey.. got to the Nissan dealer and ask them to upgrade your nissan fog lights . It wont be $240 which was roughly my total cost roughly.
Great job on the video bro, it's exactly what I needed for my megane 2. But i have a question, how did you find out witch OEM plug was the right one for the fog lamps in the reley box?? I have also installed the lamps to my bumper and now I was going to try and make an improvised installation like yours but I don't know where to plug the wires in the fuse box. Cheers.
(with the car off) id plug the junk yard pins into the box under the hood...attach a 9v battery and then test with a multimeter for which pin is holding 9v at plug under the column.. it is color coded but i personally cant tell you which wire is going where and that fuse box is enclosed fully (the white part) i dont recommend opening that you might get a moisture issue
I don't have the stalk on my 06 but it's pre-wired. And I have auto headlights. If I just put the fogs in using the factory wires will they automatically go on with the low beams?
@batman8489 well the actual work took 3hrs... but it took me about 10hrs because i had to research to figure out how to do it. i couldnt find any youtube videos to help me for altimas. so i made this one. i think if you really know what youre doing you could have the entire process done in 2hrs.
Hey how is going I have quick questions about the wiring. Do you a have diagram how you did the wiring? I have all the parts already. thank you for your time
so you used the part from the junk yard in the fuse box or you took the wires from the piece you got from the junk yard and put them in the harness that was in your car? What are you connecting to the brown box and how? Where did you get fogs? Did that harness come with them or did you have to make it? Sorry man I got lost around 9:50 make like there was missing information or something I ddin't see. Please help this was a great video tho'!
question my Nissan has the wires that you install on youre fuse box already but I don't want to loss my automatic headlamp I can use the switch nested change the the turn signal like you did

Thanks for responding. Nissan dealer figured out that the wireing from switch box to the fog lamps were not grounded, thats why the switch with auto head lamps and fog lamps options was not turning on the fog lamps. Now, after grounding the lamps turned on. I now hae bothe auto head lamps and fog lamps.
@reeseville1 You got the part from the junk yard for the wires? Was it from an altima with fog lights? Or does it not matter, you just needed the extra wires?
@batman8489 i only purchased the wire harness from the junkyard.. because those ends are tiny.. you wont find any ends to fit that fuse box at autozone. advanced auto..any car shop.. ive looked... i bought a fog kit from ebay and i soldered the tiny wire ends to the wire harness from that kit. the switch was purchased from the website in the info box
I made the same mistake. I bought a fog light stalk w/out auto headlights, so I'll be losing that as well. So you're saying they will install the "auto system" for me even though I already have it?
I confused... If you have fog lamps why would you change the switch?.. im not even sure if the hybrid model has the same hard wire as the regular altima. ...but anywho if its not working you may have to run a bypass wire to which ever wire line powers your wire from the original switch.. do you have the slots i mentioned in the video?? its one of those things where id have to see where your wires are going to figure out whats going... if not the only thing i can say is the it may not be grounded
First of all; you are a soldier at Ft. Bliss...the soldier part was easy, as for Ft. Bliss, the rock wall (fences)...'kind of weird that a city mostly against a national border wall has so many walls...ha ha! Anyway, I am doing the same thing to a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. I am using Morimoto LEDs instead of any incandescent bulb units. Thanks for your tutorial!
I bought 25560-JA015 combination switch which has auto headlamps and fog lamps, for my 2007 Altima Hybrid. But, The fog lamps are not turning on with it. But, fog were working fine with 25560-JA074 switch which doesn't have auto headlamps option but fog lamps. Any idea why the JA015 switch's fog lamps don't work?! Did I bend any pins while installing the switch?! Any help?
Im on the search for the interior switch, cant find one anywhere local. Luckily it looks like mine is already wired from factory but no lights, should be easy if i get the switch
I hate cars not having fog lights or a sun roof so i had to upgrade.. Easy project relatively cheap upgrade.. i also recommend upgrading the side mirrors to the heat mirrors with the turn signals on them... very easy upgrade ... cost me $200 for that.
This video is awesome!! Thanks so much for posting it! I never thought it would be so easy! How hard were you mirrors to do? I have a 2008 altima sl and it didn't have fog lights or the mirrors so now thanks to you it has the lights i think the mirrors look sick. was there a lot of wiring involved?
Thx for this great video. I just opened the fuse box of my 2010 Altima and I found the two little wires you talked about. Just tell me if I already have the harness and if so do I need to install any fuses befor I buy the switch and the lights?
I have a nissan versa '15 and this switch fit in my car as well, I still have to wire it to the foglights hopefully I can find some pins somewhere. I was searching youtube for advice. I'm so Glad you posted your video. Im like, "yes! I found someone who knows what they're doing!" Lol Did you have to wire it to the relay provided with the foglights? Also, My foglights I bought also have running lights and blinkers on the bottom. I can get it to work but, Does anyone know of an accessory wire under the hood so I dont have to go through the firewall for the running lights?
I will also mention I also brought the whole "light and whipper box" seeing as I didn't have the front fog lights switch on my stock lever. So the new lever is already installed and now supports both front and rear fog lights.

Would be easier to just get the fog lights.. and install a toggle switch to turn them on and off rather then do all this.. infact after hearing that only the SL comes prewired which is dumb cause every other vehicle in the road from every other company has everything prewired already cause it’s cheaper and easier to mass produce this way that’s exactly what I’m gonna do on my daughter care since it already has a spare switch spot on the drivers side next to the trunk release

This is a great video, the multi switch installation work on 2009+ Nissan Maxima.
my altima has the tpms light flashing as well my tire pressure is good on all four tires .. do you kno how to get rid of it?
@borat7776 you have to go to a tire shop. they have a device there that determines which sensor went bad inside the tire and then they replace it
Do you think you can put the actual link to where you got both fog lights and the fog switch? Please & Thank You
Great Video...Finally found detail on wring and stalk replacement!

thank you for the tip, i have a 2012 SL Altima i put the fog lights and i but the multi switch the i got on craigslist for $40 and it works good

Broke my switch paid 500 tonfet it fixed, shuda youtubed u instead. Great vid
Thanks man. Works that same with the Maxima.
Will this work with a 2006 nissan Altima?
What did you get to
them intall?
What are the part Numbers I need if mines isn't pre wiredd
So if I'm pre-wired all I need is the column?
yup
Thank you. Very instructional video. Thank goodness for Pull-a-part.

Huy there. So how did u put the fog light wiring .. even though u were pre wired?
Nice it took me a while to find the part
Thank for this information just what I needed to know your video skills are not great But they information is 100% good luck thank you
working with the battery on really?

Did you find the connector or wire that goes to the fog ligth? I have a Versa that cames without fog ligths
Can you just tap the new wires into the parking lights instead of buying a new turn signal/wiper assembly?
Erik Vinson Great idea, the fog lights will be on whenever the driving lights are on. But that’s okay. Thanks for the suggestion
I have fog lights on my car already, so do I just need this switch, because it's not on there.
I will also mention I also brought the whole "light and whipper box" seeing as I didn't have the front fog lights switch on my stock lever. So the new lever is already installed and now supports both front and rear fog lights.
youre welcome... i will be posting more videos of things ive done to my altima... its come a long way since this video
my 2011 doesn't have fog light. after seeing your video, I will try to install fog light later down the road. thanks.
Switch assemblies are the same from '07 to '15. Any year will fit.
my car has the wirein all ready so if I install the they will work with the auto head lamp
I have the plug on my car , but I have to install the switch that comes with the fog lights or the or my existing turn signal will control them because I have the same one that he took off on the video
@byrd3140 thats great.. thats why i made this video.. i couldnt find one on altima fog lights
I notice that your old switch had the auto on and the new switch didn't have them,so now your lights don't turn on automatic now when dark i guess....So you went from better to worse look like to me...Good video,i rather for the dealership to do it.But mine 2014 came with for lights so i don't have to worry about it...
Useless comment!
+acuradelsol I know right!
the mirrors are plug n play... the wiring is already there..biggest issue was getting the mirrors inserts painted to match the car color
So I had these installed today and now my auto windows won't close automatically, they just open like that ....would you know what would cause this?
+WhiskeyYum roll your windows all the way up and at least half way back down (you can go all the way down) then pull up both windows with the drivers side switch until they reach the top and hold it for 10 seconds
they should be auto now
Roberto Copello thanks so much man u save me Some bucks
I need you to install fog light for me? Already bought fog lamps and switch! Where are you located at? My car is not pre-wired so I fucked up.
i hope my already has wires to install the botton for the fog lights
Great video, but I guess I missed the part of how to put the wires together...I went to junkyard and got the plug needed.
Hi my car is prewired is it easy to install.
yes plug n play... just need the switch
What the name of it
@olubuu will leave that link now
The link doesn’t work where can I buy the piece to turn the fog lights on?
Ur video was really helpful
Nice video but I don't find the that switch more cheap. On any other place.
PLEASE NOTE: that harness i bought.. i used pliers to crack the plastic off it.. i soldered that to the harness and plugged the ends into the plastic harness on my nissan
Great job thanks for this very helpful video.
Excellent video brother!! Thank you!
Its cheap compared how much Nissan charges to install them. The switch alone is $250 from Nissan dealership.
Im finding the part itself costing that much...
great video! just what I was looking for! thanks for sharing

took forrrrever bro!
well you had the "auto" position in yout headlights switch.. thats why I thought you did have auto headlights...
It's alright but u should also include the fact that it's a little pricy Cuz u gotta buy everything separately
Would be easier to just get the fog lights.. and install a toggle switch to turn them on and off rather then do all this.. infact after hearing that only the SL comes prewired which is dumb cause every other vehicle in the road from every other company has everything prewired already cause it’s cheaper and easier to mass produce this way that’s exactly what I’m gonna do on my daughter care since it already has a spare switch spot on the drivers side next to the trunk release
yes i did those as well... but thats simple plug and play...
I think a helmet camera is going to really update the quality of videos for installation...
It all depends on which model altima you have
@reeseville1 let me know how your install goes. if you have any questions fell free to ask. i will try to clear any grey areas
you can get the "auto" system for 30 bucks (with the sensor and everything)
Great video
@moalhussein sorry about that... the whole youtube thing is harder than it looks.. my first video shot entirely with an iPhone.
So it’s that easy you don’t need to put a sensor or nothing ???
its not my tire pressure sensor is faulty
Good job!
