fun fact: the creator and CEO of Shiftup (the company studio) and Stellar Blade is married, and his wife is the chief character artist that created Eve and her outfits. IGN France knew that, and they ignored it to rage bait views, and when "making their apology" they instead doubled down on their actions and basically said they didn't acknowledge the couple's marriage, because their narrative is that the CEO of Shiftup is a misogynistic single man.

Exactly. The people making this argument that Lara, Bayo, and 2B are iconic women in gaming so it's okay for them are all hoping that we forget that these same types of people were also throwing hissy fits over their designs back before THEIR games came out.
And if this game does well, the next time we get a really attractive female character, they'll be including Eve with the attractive women that are "okay" while hating on the new one.
This is what these people do. They hate on things they don't like to try and take them away, and when it doesn't work, they'll instead try to "claim them" for themselves. I remember seeing a journo make a comic where Lara Croft's big boobs kept getting in the way of her athleticism and getting her killed. Yet now Lara should be supported as an icon for women despite the way they were tearing her down before?
Then there's all the Bayonetta haters who claimed her game for supported unrealistic body standards. After the first game found success, they turned around and tried to claim Bayo as a gay female icon right up until Bayo 3 came out and confirmed her sexuality.
These journos are all so freaking dumb and have such short and selective memories. And they are hoping that most people share these traits with them. But we don't, and that's why no one trusts them or likes them.

The problem with Aloy in Horizon Forbidden West was the fact that they removed things like hip sway and made her chubbier compared to Horizon Zero Dawn. There was no reason for the change, so why make it? Mind you, Aloy is an extremely active character at what could be considered peak physical condition, so being chubby in any way makes no sense in the context of the character let alone anything else.
They also downgraded her before release of the original. She was much more attractive in the concept art, and in the game prototype.
Dude,Aloy's face model is way more good looking than Aloy in game. They did this on purpose.
While I agree that there is no reason to change her, I don't agree with the rest, because what you say implies that girls who look like Forbidden West Aloy can't be as fit. When you look at certain Olympic disciplines, there will be "chubby" people. Fit or active people are not necessarily thin. Think moderate muscle mommy. Although I have to say that original Aloy was already actually an example of more a natural proportioned human.
@TheYear-dm9op what a fit bodytype would be depends on what it's intended to do. Alot of running and jumping around? Then the best body is on the slimmer side. Want to do alot of heavy lifting? Then a more stocky bodytype is better. So what a realistic bodytype is in a game wouldl depend on what the gameplay is 🤔

I remember when everyone was hating bayonetta, she was created by a woman, the concept art and the final touches, then they said she was the paragon of lesbians, then a photo of her with her husband and her daugther made twitter angry to such degree because people had that headcannon already.

Seven Pirates H has booby training to level up the girls and alter the size. Needless to say the switch version with touch screen is the best version. As for the game its good. It plays like a traditional JRPG, the story is funny. Its a good game.

As per usual the Act Man is a class act. Often times subjects like this are discussed in stark black and white and it is always nice to see someone bring some nuance to a discussion. That said, when it comes to a media product, just don't buy something if you find if offends your sensibilities. I didn't buy Cyber Punk after it came out that CDPR lied about the working conditions of it's staff (dodged a bullet since the game released as unplayable trash). I'm not going to try to shame anyone else into joining me in that choice though.
As a side note. From what I've seen of the gameplay, Steller Blade looks like a very competent 'souls-like' and that means it is probably great.
I have always said the simplest and easiest perfect aolution to fix the issue about how hot characters can be and it's as follows: All male characters need to be the absolute peak male or better and woman only need to be normal. That will make everyone that matters happy. 😄
Nah an artist should be allowed to have sexy women in they'r works if they want to just as much as artists is allowed not to if people don't like how hot a female character is in a game then they can go and be insecure elsewhere.

What’s funny about all the bots seething about Eve’s design is if they JUST PLAYED THE FUCKIN DEMO they’d see all the other outfits she could have in the game.
Yeah but the main reason why a developer might make a romance in the game easier to obtain is often so that the player doesn't miss out on how they want their experience to go, usually not because the devs are lazy or because they think badly of the character. This is also the folly of modern games like the Saints Row reboot where they restricted (only) the female body type to a certain degree of shapes. Doing that prevents your player from creating the exact character they want to play as, and potentially screws with their enjoyment. The reason why they don't bother censoring the male characters is because men aren't complaining about it for the same reasons.
ngl my favorite aspect in a game is the music so i really dont care about who or what is on the screen if i can enjoy that heavy metal and soprano at full blast even if the character is embodiment of all dislikes of every human ever

I think the answer to this one is rather simple, it's one word but everybody seems to ignore it 'VARIETY'. You can have overly sexual female characters, but you should also be able to have less attractive female characters too. As just like in real life, not all people are good looking. You can have overly sexual males, and some average looking males too. It doesn't have to be one or the other, giving variety is the best we can do, to satisfy all parties. Not everybody needs to look like a super model
