He couldnt. If he put it down as soo nas the failure occured, he wouldnt've been able to recover and make it back with the added drag. if he did it during the turn he would probably stall or undershoot the runway. There wasnt enough altitude or airspeed after the turn.

I was thinking the same thing. This is what model aviation has become. These people care so little about these models, themselves or each other they take massive risks while laughing like deranged hyenas the entire time.
Would you rather watch some guy fly his cub in circles all day without so much as a loop? ;)
@@andrewasdel4230 of course not and there is nothing wrong with watching crashes or mishaps. It's just the complete carelessness and deliberate crashes while acting like a jack*** that I don't find amusing. To be fair not all the clips in this video are like that, but quite a few are.
Anyone who can do something stupid and stuff a four or five hundred dollar airplane and laugh about it , is an idiot .

Nobody deliberately crashes a model airplane. They are too expensive. However mistakes happen especially with beginners and a "crash" results. Most are reparable. I have been flying RC for 65 years and have had my share of accidents especially in the early days. It is a skill that must be learned over time like learning to fly a full scale plane. No one would deliberately crash one of those either.
It's so fuckin sick how chill yall are. Very funny crew of people.

This is exactly why i only fly boring foam wings anymore. Sure planes in general are way cheaper than they used to be but i don't have enough free time to constantly be working on broken crap
I just respect that type of rogue non conventional flying - fast glide slopes to landing and flying in the damn woods and over fires - outstanding!!!

That's cuz they're toys and we treat them as such - and have a fun time doing so. 👍 That's what we love about RC - that you can have fun without endangering yourself or taking the flying as serious as full scale. Plus repairing a foam plane that crashes is as simple as some glue. 😁

after working my a$$ off for 42 years and always looking forward to the weekends to catch up on all the lawn work, car maintenance, cleaning, etc this video makes it clear to me that I missed the boat somewhere. I don't think I've ever been called "Dude!" followed by laughter.

the crash at 0:13 happend due to a wing overload from the rolling which made the center of presure incorrect which then tore off the wings
It's a harsh reminder of less-than-glorious days in the field.

Personally, every plane I own and fly is worth a fortune to me, and damaging or crashing them is always painful. But hey, I'm glad there are people that have the money and emotional resilience to laugh and carry on when hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars of machinery is destroyed, leaving you empty in more ways than one...

1. Have pilot error
2. Make and build the plane with the wrong areo dynamics (this goes for buying too)
3. Flying in small air space with a big plane
4. Make sure not to show off to too much.
In conclusion, buy and make planes (including going places) with caution and make sure to get and make a plane for YOU.
