If you're wondering why there is a new narrator, here's a video to explain it: th-cam.com/video/ejPkqD_6dLs/w-d-xo.html But long story short, my previous friend who narrated was accepted into a program at his university to where it'll be taking up his time drastically for the next 2 years, so he won't have any time to narrate anymore. So I have someone else to take his place. Please leave feedback on any advice for the new guy that you want him to improve on. Thanks!
He should really change up his recruitment methods, though. It works one time after manipulating his choice of apprentice for thirteen years and then suddenly he thinks saying "Become a Sith!" works just like that. _No, Palps, when a boy who knows for a fact you ruined his father's life walks up to kill you and you act all creepy and evil and tell him you're trying to murder his friends and talk about how he's definitely going to become your apprentice, it is most certainly not going to go well_ . And after that, he just had to be equally unpersuasive with his granddaughter. She was his _granddaughter_ . That's some perfect manipulation material right there, but nooooooooooo. "It is your destiny" is a terrible line. For real.
I just want to point out. That while Palpatine may have been manipulating Anakin. Not a single thing he said about the Senate, the Jedi or the Republic was untrue.
That is true, but the it was the Republic's lack of a military force that made the galaxy see it as a paper tiger and ignore all there laws. Also so called rights of the Republic typically only apply for the core worlds and senators like the corrupt bastard in this story. The 'people' are instead left to foot the bill and rot away in the slums of Corascant or the deprived outer rim. Palpatine showed Anakin the horrific poverty for nearly 90% of the population of the Republic capital itself. Do you think they were all paid actors in his employ? The whole reason Luke wanted to join the Imperial academy was to escape such a life. At least the Empire gave you options. and had no pretense of being a system 'for the people'.
AlphaOmega804 Actually he lied on the Jedi a lot and even to an extent the Republic as well also only a small portion of the Republic capital lived in poverty also don't forget there are 3 rims in the Galaxy and the least say rim was the outer rim however in general most world's had the same rights just because law was not obeyed does not mean it's not a law.
Again that is true. But a Republic that does not enforce its own laws is worthless. The Republic condemns slavery but they still practice it under euphemisms like indentured service. And in the outer rim it is openly practice but they and the Jedi do nothing, so what good are they? As far as the outer rim goes, most of the Seperatists came from the outer rim because they were sick and tired of being treated like 2nd class citizens and having their problems ignored by the core supported senate. All the while what money they had was going to the Core worlds and the pockets of Senators and Crime bosses that prayed on them. Also on the Jedi what did he lie about? I am honestly asking. The Jedi claim to serve others but they do it from their nice clean Temple and as he said 'never go out into the real galaxy'. In the 1000 years since the Sith went into hiding, what have the Jedi achieved? Have the ended slavery, taken down the Hutts, brought peace to the outer rim, helped the poor on Coracsant? No? So what use are they? It is like Atton Rand says, at least the Sith are honest about what they fight for. And they are willing to take action to see their goals achieved.
I found it funny that in the comic, Chancellor Palpatine was wearing his Sith cloak lol. Best part though is when Palpatine laughed when Anakin made the senator lose all his credits.

Clearing a few points before they're made: 1) Tarkin went against Palpatine's wishes with Alderaan's destruction. He was told to not use it on a major planet (or something along those lines). 2) When the Jedi went to arrest Palpatine, they didn't actually have any concrete evidence. Just a few words from Anakin and one "Bad Motherfucker", so technically, *it* WAS *treason, then* 3) On the topic of Palpatine's attempted arrest, "Being a sith lord" wouldn't really be a crime, now would it? Say all of a king's knights were all devout Christians. The king rules for a long time and his reign improves alot about the kingdom. One day, however, all of his knights accuse him of being a Satanist and attack him. Yes, a lot of people may not LIKE what he is, but is that actually a written crime? 0:45 an R2 unit as a dumpster fire xD Never thought I'd see that. I can fully understand why Anakin felt so drawn to Palpatine: He was friendly and caring, valued his opinion, wanted him to keep an open mind and trusted him. Yoda and the Council on the other hand and especially masters like Mace Windu treated him by rank, never seized feeling apprehensive about him, were very dogmatic about their views and seemed to hold him back out of mistrust. Palpatine had it relatively easy with Anakin. He filled the sort of father-role he had never had in his life and appeared to be much more interested in him than the Jedi Order. And part of me thinks that Palpatine was, in part, genuine about this. It was only after Anakin had been soundly defeated and crippled by Obi-Wan that his attitude changed drastically, since Anakin was now only a shadow of his potential and would never be able to match him, let alone overthrow him. Palpatine was disappointed and furious. All his scheming and Anakin had almost ruined it all with one brash action.
Corristo89 The Jedi did trust Anakin he was the Chosen One however during the Clone Wars Anakin began showing dark and alarming traits that made many of them hesitate to fully trust him however Yoda did trust Anakin and of course Obi Wan did too very, very, much in fact and as for Mace his attitude towards Anakin started to changes as Anakin showed dark traits and he could also see shatter points in the Force he knew Anakin had very, dark and conflicted side this, is why he began to mistrust Anakin.
Dark and alarming traits, such as reacting like a human being to the horrors of war and the deaths of people close to you. And of course the Jedi responded to this by treating Anakin like a naughty schoolboy. I guess compassion doesn't come easily when you believe in a doctrine that forbids passion.
Pre-puberty Anakin was such a likeable person in this comic: intelligent, well-mannered, humble, yet he cared for the Galaxy's well-being. It's hilarious that the movies skipped the only part of his lifetime where he would have been good company.
@@matthewkalasky2891 In the first movie, he was an insuffarable kid, and in the second, an entitled failiure. In this, he looks really normal and okay.
Putting your hands on a Sith Lord is stupid. It's even worse when it's the most powerful one. He could've killed them all with a wave of his hand. lmfao
Honestly, this is why the Sith is liked more. They usually do not leave things like this out of their sights. Nor can they do so. It would be their end, so to speak.
1:17 the inner evil is showing on Palpatine's face, like he's so excited to start recruiting his new apprentice that he's forgetting to keep up his illusion of normalcy. Nice touch.
Palpatine isn’t exactly the most reliable narrator. For all we know, he was lying to Anakin about Colandrus, who might actually be an honest senator who simply enjoys a night of gambling.
Anakin: So why did you bring me here chancellor? *Palpatine sits down and hands anakin a drink* Palpatine: Did you ever heard of the tragedy of darth plagueis the wise?
I love these lore videos, always interesting to hear about these Anakin, Palpatine stories. It is kind of eerie... the idea that there is a city that it envelops the entire planet and the buildings are built so tall that the Sun is a myth in the lower levels.
Dauym, that shadow casted on his face when Palpatine was pretending to be a good guy... Edit: And the fact that he appeared like a weak old man when that body guard grabbed him. He would've killed everyone with his force lighting if only he could have.
I love the subtle hints in the art of this comic. Both Palpatine and Anakin cloaked, their faces hidden behind shadows making them both look like Sith. This was pretty much just a master teaching his apprentice as far as Sidious was concerned.
I'm just surprised that the Jedi Council never saw anything weird with a much older man who is a politician taking a young teen boy to a private place. No wonder the Sith took control.
I love how the second those robes go on, the personality changes completely to the Dark Lord he really is, like finally being able to let himself free for a brief time until the Empire was formed.
I Think the Jedi just thought he was excentric if the was during the great galactic war then without a doubt there would have been some suspicion but since the galaxy hadn't seen the sith in 1000 they where confident they had vanished
Palpatine: Anakin, If one is to understand the great mystery of the force, one must study ALL its aspects. Not just the dogmatic narrow view of the Jedi. Anakin: Ok Palpatine: Goooood ( *Evil Palpatine laugh* ) Now, go grab me a drink while I hook us up with some space drugs
That's brilliant in Palpatine's part. He allowed the Jedi's to train Anakin to learn the force whilst discreetly teaching him the ways of the dark side little by little. In a sense, he took patience to a new level, much like his plans to take over the politics. Dude is an intelligent puppet master, only to let his overconfidence betray him later on.
I like how when Palpatine apologized to Anakin by mentioning his previous life, we see the face of a humble and kind person. But then Palpatine's face reverts back to Sidious in the other image.
The older I get, the more that I realize why Anakin committed those dark deeds so willingly. Although Palpatine was very manipulative, there's alot of harsh truths in his philosophy that Anakin couldn't ignore. I'm not agreeing with Anakin's actions, but you can understand where Anakin is coming from when you look at the situation from his perspective.
I wanna see more moments like this! Of palpatine creating a mentor student relationship with anakin in the years of his training. Even a father son type relationship. It would make the reason anakin didn’t strike him down the instant he learned palatine was a Sith more... believable. I mean how could you kill a man that had been like a father or grandfather to you. Called you son often. And waxed your ego.
This was actually a pretty cool little story. Hopefully, they'll keep expanding on the new canon and continue to tell us stories about Anakin's early years in the Jedi Order.
It's interesting how Palpatine didn't only influence Anakin's personal loyalty (asking about his feelings, making him question his beliefs), but also his political opinions (namely that the Chancellor should have more power against corrupt senators). Why did the Jedi Council allow grooming tho?
3:35 That thug grabbing Palpatine by the lapel and thinking that he was threatening this old dude... hooolllly shit if only he knew. "Mugging the monster" (thanks tvtropes) doesn't come much more extreme than that.
What deception? Sidious only showed him the truth ... The Republic was a shithole under the Jedi rule, that's why there was so much crime. The Jedi lived happily in their high paid bubble on top of the food chain ... I still don't understand how people can be so blind. The crime bloomed when the Jedi were in control and was severly punished when the Empire took over, for every day Joe that's way better life. It's easy to preach about something when you ignore your whole society and only care about the higher class. The Jedi couldn't even bring order to the very planet they were based on ...
The deception of saying that he dearly wanted to do something about it and improve the lives of the people down there. Slavery and genocide also skyrocketed under the Empire too.
Oh my god I saw this referenced in a fanfic. The entire joke of the fic was Ahsoka and the clones going “Why the *fuck* was Anakin besties with an old politician since age 10 and who allowed this?!” Like this is child grooming red flag city.
It’s funny how the Disney Canon had an old man take a young boy to a bar to corrupt him. Sometimes I feel like some people underestimate what the new canon will do.
I can’t believe the Jedi let a sleazy old politician with a weird interest in a 12 year old boy take him to a bar in the underworld of Coruscant. So many red banners.
Wow... palpy seems like a really like nice guy. Also... this should've raised so many alarm bells at the temple. Why are the damn Jedi in the prequel era so clueless?!
Eek the Fireuser I think it's said that Palpatine is manipulating the dark side powers to hide his dark aura from the Jedi so he can stay hidden. it sounds like it was pulled out the ass, but it's an answer I guess
Wait, so an old Palpatine took a young Anakin to a bar in a shoddy area? Hi Darth Sidious, I am Chris Hansen with Dateline NBC. Why don't you take a seat right there...
As large-scale as Palpatine's evil is stuff like this shows he can be evil on a disturbingly realistic manner. His relationship with Anakin is textbook grooming
"It was time for Palpatine to start what he really came here to do. Plant the first seeds of doubt and deception into Anakin" Ah good ol' Palpatine just whisking off young boys from temples to plant seeds into them in a really shady place.
Anakin: “I don’t understand Senator. Why did you bring me here?” Palpatine: “I brought you but for only one purpose... To help me RAISE THE ROOF ON THIS PLACE!”
now i under stand why palpatine was so angry and felt anakin failed im when he fond anakin dying on mustafar seeing the boy hey want to rule next to him was now a broken figure of hes old self

Palpatine was disappointed and furious. All his scheming and Anakin had almost ruined it all with one brash action.
Personally I think the relationship between Palpatine and Anakin is one of the best in the saga
Elliott Knifton U ou do realize that Palpatine was literally just trolling Anakin the hole time it was never a relationship Palpatine was using him.
Robert Jones I side with the CIS over the Republic, at least the CIS uses droids as their toy soldiers.

Pre-puberty Anakin was such a likeable person in this comic: intelligent, well-mannered, humble, yet he cared for the Galaxy's well-being. It's hilarious that the movies skipped the only part of his lifetime where he would have been good company.
The first movie didn't skip any of that. In the second, well, it was pretty much a direct result of things like this.
@@matthewkalasky2891 In the first movie, he was an insuffarable kid, and in the second, an entitled failiure. In this, he looks really normal and okay.

Palpatine: "I need the young Padawan for a... special task."
Master Hansen: "Why don't you take a seat?"
"And this is how you pick up Chiss babes, Anakin"
"Is it possible to learn this power?"
"Not from a Jedi"
3:29 That man is fucking lucky Palpatine wasn't there by himself. Everyone at that club would've been dead.
Putting your hands on a Sith Lord is stupid. It's even worse when it's the most powerful one. He could've killed them all with a wave of his hand. lmfao
So an old, secretive man took an innocent young teen to a bar to persuade him to some dark arts?
STRANGER DANGER STRANGER DANGER

Well that was a suggestive title.

Honestly, this is why the Sith is liked more. They usually do not leave things like this out of their sights. Nor can they do so. It would be their end, so to speak.
Two sith walk into a bar....
One asks the bouncer if he buckled up his blaster tightly whilst the other went to the mens room.

*Palpatine sits down and hands anakin a drink*
Palpatine: Did you ever heard of the tragedy of darth plagueis the wise?
I love these lore videos, always interesting to hear about these Anakin, Palpatine stories. It is kind of eerie... the idea that there is a city that it envelops the entire planet and the buildings are built so tall that the Sun is a myth in the lower levels.
"Live their entire lives without seeing the sky"
Warhammer 40k: *laughs nervously*
Dauym, that shadow casted on his face when Palpatine was pretending to be a good guy...
Edit: And the fact that he appeared like a weak old man when that body guard grabbed him. He would've killed everyone with his force lighting if only he could have.
My lord is that legal?
@Darth Sidious come to my universe its practically is legal
I will make it legal
Hm. A creepy old politician comes to a space church to take very young boy with him to perform unspecified private "errand" for him. That checks out
I love the subtle hints in the art of this comic.
God palpatine makes me skeptical that my own friends can be deceiving me
Darth Sidious DEW IT!
Desheeving you
Palpatine : "As soon as you hit 18 we will go to a different kind of bar Anakin."
Nice job. Dude your a great narrator
Just as well the Jedi didn't know Darth Sidious existed at this point in time, that hood would've been a big enough tip off
Honestly speaking if i was in star wars and saw a shady old man in a cloke with a little kid my first thoughts wouldnt be "Hes a sith lord"
I Think the Jedi just thought he was excentric if the was during the great galactic war then without a doubt there would have been some suspicion but since the galaxy hadn't seen the sith in 1000 they where confident they had vanished
Can just imagine Palpatine saying to Anakin "see how cool am I, I bet the Jedi never bring you to bars"
That robe, honestly even then Palpatine as a point.

he planted his 'seed' of doubt into anakin
Palpatine: Anakin, If one is to understand the great mystery of the force, one must study ALL its aspects. Not just the dogmatic narrow view of the Jedi.
Anakin: Ok
Palpatine: Goooood ( *Evil Palpatine laugh* ) Now, go grab me a drink while I hook us up with some space drugs
I can imagine Palpatine tripping balls and sending out force lightning.

The best of lies have truth to them.
"The Misadventures of Palpatine and Anakin". Now that's something I would watch
Palpatine: "Anakin, what would you like to drink?
Anakin: "I.. I'll just take some milk, senator"
Palpatine: "We'll be having scotch"
the title sounds like the beggining of a really nerdy joke
I wanna see more moments like this! Of palpatine creating a mentor student relationship with anakin in the years of his training. Even a father son type relationship. It would make the reason anakin didn’t strike him down the instant he learned palatine was a Sith more... believable. I mean how could you kill a man that had been like a father or grandfather to you. Called you son often. And waxed your ego.
Can you do "lore of the death sticks guy"
He was my favorite character in entire prequel trilogy
This was actually a pretty cool little story. Hopefully, they'll keep expanding on the new canon and continue to tell us stories about Anakin's early years in the Jedi Order.
Even Palpatine can laugh out loud. LOL
Notice how Palpatine tells the senator Anakin is his son.
While technically that is true, it's was obviously said to further condition Anakin
Agreed.
It's gonna take some time to get used to the new narrator. Good job though!

Thanks, I'm trying my best! If you have any feedback for me to change anything in my narration, feel free to suggest!
But they fight for democracy so the empire is automatically evil.
What you call democracy is actually an Oligarchy.
The deception of saying that he dearly wanted to do something about it and improve the lives of the people down there.
Slavery and genocide also skyrocketed under the Empire too.
Oh my god I saw this referenced in a fanfic. The entire joke of the fic was Ahsoka and the clones going “Why the *fuck* was Anakin besties with an old politician since age 10 and who allowed this?!”
Like this is child grooming red flag city.
You can't just make this comment and _not_ drop the link for the fanfic.
I LOVED THIS. It's amazing how a comic that has no action scenes, no significant revelations, no outstanding visuals can still be so interesting.
It’s funny how the Disney Canon had an old man take a young boy to a bar to corrupt him. Sometimes I feel like some people underestimate what the new canon will do.
This aged well
Can we just appreciate the art in these comics? It’s ridiculously good!
A padawan, a senator, and a Sith Lord walks into a bar...
Because they got complacent and arrogant over the years. Palpatine used these weaknesses to beat them.
@3:20. Would have loved it if the Senator instructed his bodyguards to try and teach the punk kid and his "father" a lesson lol...
Wait, so an old Palpatine took a young Anakin to a bar in a shoddy area? Hi Darth Sidious, I am Chris Hansen with Dateline NBC. Why don't you take a seat right there...
I had doubts from the sample, but this video convinced me that the new narrator is perfectly fine for the channel
Bye wesley (the man who's been narrating the videos up until this point), We'll all miss you!

The title alone got me interested. A great video that goes into Anakin's past.
As large-scale as Palpatine's evil is stuff like this shows he can be evil on a disturbingly realistic manner. His relationship with Anakin is textbook grooming
"It was time for Palpatine to start what he really came here to do. Plant the first seeds of doubt and deception into Anakin"
Ah good ol' Palpatine just whisking off young boys from temples to plant seeds into them in a really shady place.
Imagine Palpatine and Anakin doing Jager Bombs.
The new narrator is awesome. All the changes are fantastic. Good job, guys.

This is basically that uncle you were warned about taking you to the pub. 10/10 Totally what Sideous would do.
Anakin: “I don’t understand Senator. Why did you bring me here?”
Palpatine: “I brought you but for only one purpose... To help me RAISE THE ROOF ON THIS PLACE!”
Awesome first video for the new narrator! Keep them coming!
now i under stand why palpatine was so angry and felt anakin failed im when he fond anakin dying on mustafar seeing the boy hey want to rule next to him was now a broken figure of hes old self
The art style used in this comic is just gorgeous.
