    Previous owner ran the power in my '16 through that side grommet and now there is a ton of rust up underneath the dash and seats. Just so ya'll know, it will probably let moisture in, probably not the best way to run it long term. Forums say theres a grommet behind the glove box that you can use to push the power from the inside out into the engine bay. I'll be replacing the PO's system, and will be using this method in the replacement.

      I mainly went through the side because I’m not flexible enough to get under the firewall. Haven’t had any moisture issues with the doors closed, but my door seals are intact and I keep an eye on everything. Going through the firewall is definitely the preferred method, but this is easier on the back. Thanks for watching and please subscribe!

    Plug and play kits saved me from tapping in it plugs between the factory harness and the radio, 68$ tho but saved time

    I don't normally comment on videos but I gotta say that this was a huge help, I basically mimicked this entire setup and it worked beautifully. I do have one question though, I just wanted to see what your amp is tuned to? Like what do you have your subsonic, reverb, etc. set to?

    • @gapperformance
      @gapperformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for commenting! Are you using the same amp? I’ve since switched to a different setup and can’t remember the original controls, but basically I just tweaked them around until it sounded best from the drivers seat. Glad I could help you out and I hope I earned your subscribe! Thanks!

    Do you need to connect the line output converter? Like what exactly does it do. If I have an aftermarket stereo unit.

    • @gapperformance
      @gapperformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have an aftermarket stereo it’s easier to tap off the speaker lines. The LOC is essentially what syncs up your sub to whatever music you’re playing by piggy backing off the speaker wire. The rear wires in that panel in the video are the easiest access to the speaker wires and that’s why I picked it. If you had a head unit already wired up, it would probably be easier to tap off those speaker wires. My 98 Honda covid is super easy to find speaker wires for, but pulling the dash on a 19 fiesta is a whole nightmare lol. Please subscribe to support the channel if we help you out! Hey man just wondering when you started tuning and setting your gain what volume did you use on the stock head unit? I’m an audio noob and just put a sub in my fiesta st and really need help just figuring out at what volume the stock head unit distorts?

    • @gapperformance
      @gapperformance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ricardo Anorga I didn’t use the stock head unit at all. Did a tap off the front right A pillar speaker wires for a line output converter to rca. All adjustments were done on the amp

    • @ricardoanorga5281
      @ricardoanorga5281 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Casual Car Talk ok, I have a powered usb so my only controls are gain, bass boost and lpf so I’m trying to first figure out when the stock system begins to distort with my gain set to 0 before I start trying to actually set my gain and bring it up to the point before it will start to clip. This is the correct process to set gain by ear right? Like I said I’m pretty new to this.

    How did you plug in the RCA cables in the radio?

    • @gapperformance
      @gapperformance  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I didn’t. The LOC taps of the rear speaker wires giving you the input you need to the amp. The amp then sends the signal to the sub in line with the rear speaker wire LOC tap. So you’re never connecting it to the radio per say.

  • @josecortese9585

    • @gapperformance

      It’s not - it taps off the speaker wire with the LOC unit I tapped. Brings speaker signal to rca which plugs into the amp. Works awesome for the fist :)

      @@miguellayug6792 I just ran the loc off the speaker wire, the. Then I connected it to the amp with RCA cables. There is a little remote knob on a long wire that plugs directly into the amp.
