- Here is a tutorial on how to wire up a subwoofer to a Pre facelift mk7 fiesta. It took a few hours to do and isn’t too difficult, just fiddly. Here are the parts I used
Edge 10” Subwoofer: EDGE EDB10A 10 Inch Active Bass Enclosure www.amazon.co....
Wiring kit: VIBE Audio Slick 2000 W System Car Wiring Kit www.amazon.co....
RCA converter: CTLOC10 Speaker Line Output to RCA Converter www.amazon.co....
Good luck!
super useful and adaptable took me about 5 hours to install into my fiesta as a first time install ever doing a sub, thanks!!
Yooo!!! Thanks bro this helped immensely!! Mine was a little more finicky as I had 4 doors and had to extend a seperate wire through the door grommet...
Worked a treat!
Video is great man... tha k.you so much
Very well explained mate. Me and a friend are coincidentally wiring the exact same sub in my fiesta tomorrow so wish us luck ;)
Best of luck!! Should all go to plan
How’d it go mate???
Bro on your remote wire you might want to run a smaller fuse because the remote wire is super thin and the add a fuse you used is thick so if shorted it’s going to just cook the remote wire, I learned the hard way
Your a lucky man. I have a ground loop and am at my wits end. Next step is running a new ground for the head unit to the same point as amp and loc
This is a perfect video mate doing the same on my fiesta was going to mess about with line converters but this is probably the best way mate.
I didn't understand how you actually installed the line output converter. I thought you needed to use a negative from the left speaker and positive from the right speaker or vice versa to get a single mono signal to the amp/sub.
On the line out converter, Attach the striped wires together and the solids (grey/black + white/black)(solid gray + solid white) splice into the speaker wires so it is mono
can you give me your discord to ask you some questions?
great vid ! why did you use a convertor ?
Is it the black and white strip wire or white and black cables sepertate into the speaker
i have 5 wires coming out from the rca converter (2 green(one has also a white stripe), 2 black(one with white stripe) and another one black
could you use a fuse with a brake out wire instead of a piggyback for the remote? such as this one from halfords ( Halfords Mini Blade Fuse + Breakout Wire 15 Amp (FUSE160) )???
Does this sub have a built in amp? Or did you choose not to use an amp in this project? May have missed something!
Yep, got amp built in 👍🏼
Do you not plug anything into thr back of the stereo ? Seems liek that whole part is missing ? Or im being blind? I have left my sub out of my mk7 fiesta coz i refused to buy a 60 adapter to fit it but i dont seee any adapters in your video ?
Nope, nothing into the head unit!
@@LeonAyalaPaviour then how is the sound playing to the sub from the stereo ? Through the blue cable? That u got in the fuse box ?
@rickyriddell1518 that’s the remote. The sound is received using an RCA converter and back probing a rear speaker
Or you can also use a T-tap to splice into the wire
Cigarette lighter will be a good place for the remote wire ?
Not in these, it’s powered all the time
How did you connecte the remote imput?
What’s the Number are the fuse Yellow?
Watch the video closely, you should be able to see x
Which did you use?
Hello, I got the same subwoofer and I was going to ask if a 1500W wiring kit will do the job or is it better to buy 2000W
Id go for 2000w just to be safe. Might be overkill but better safe than sorry
Thank you so much, that reply time is incredible by the way appreciate it
@@dilanasbidva891 anytime mate
I dont understand the part with the fuse box how you connected the remote wire to the fuse. I cant really understand it because i dont really speak english but dutch. sorry could u please explain? 😬
Special part. Looks like fuse blade with two fuse slots and a wire. You can achieve the same result by putting the wire into the fuse blade slot
It's a piggyback. Has a male and female plug to add the wire.
Should I just tap into the Sony subwoofer positive and negative to grab my signal for my powered sub I am adding into my Sony sound escape titanium
Wait that's a thing on the titanium?
0:48 how did you cut through the insulation
It’s already like that
trying to do this with 1/0 guage wire is a lot harder😂😂
Noe just throw a Digital Designs subwoofer in there and its perfect👌🏻
Why when I put my set up on it’s takes away all the sound from the speakers and only goes tot the sub
What did you do differently?
is this possible on a 5 door fiesta, the splicing to the rear speakers that is
I’m sure it would be, would just need to get the wires through the door and in with that loom
@@LeonAyalaPaviour cool thx, also sorry 2 be a pain but does it work with the factory built in radio or do I need a new radio fitted ?
Factory head unit is all good 👌🏼
How did u remove the radio from the dashboard
You don’t need to
👏👏
How did you remove the glove box ?
Squeeze the sides in once it’s open and pull it down further
Why do you not need to splice both rear speakers? Is it just the same wire which runs through all of them then?
No, so this is just the easiest way that works. It only takes left stereo audio. Generally for bass this skit as issue at all as bass is normally mono
@@LeonAyalaPaviour oh wow ok thanks wish i knew this before i pulled the whole radio out.
Lol does it work tho
@Leon Ayala Paviour yes been working for about a year now just cut into both left and right however I've also added a rca volume knob so I can turn the sub off completely if I want.
only need to do the RCA connectors on 1 side?
Yep. Only wiring into one speaker
@@LeonAyalaPaviour ok perfect and with RCA adapter theres 5 different wires it looks like you only used 1 wire is that right?
@@LeonAyalaPaviour why only one and not both?
@@sl-fu3uh I’m putting one in my Mk8 I don’t know weather to take it from both rear speakers or just 1. If it’s 2 Channel surely both rear speakers ??
@@a..b..9308 all you need is one set of cables for left and right as they are all linked together
Jealous of th at colour for sure!
Of the car??
@@LeonAyalaPaviour yeah!
Thanks man it’s a rare colour!
U literally show half steps
What else do you need to know
@@LeonAyalaPaviourdo you have a guide on how to get the rear trim of i can’t do it
Did you put the original fuse from the fuse board into the side of the piggyback?
Yep, and make sure you put another fuse of the same rating in the other slot to ensure the original use of that fuse keeps working….
