Definitely gonna end up going with the hybrid and might as well grab an aux port for the future… love that quick instant low end power rather than having to wait til the top end
Excellent video, but there is an issue you didn't mention. Hybrid turbos keep the stock dv slot and when those turbos are pushed to 1.7- 1.9bar the heat shits the dv over time. Meaning that under some spirited driving you will feel the throttle getting unresponsive. Secondly, hybrid turbos generate much more heat since they are smaller compared to a s280 or 2860, which means that reliability is an issue. If you choose hybrid turbo , go for small ones like x37 or v1 which give about 280bhp. If you want more the best solution is the s280 which is vfm. Also vt330r is a hybrid turbo not a big turbo. 😛
Any cooling issues? The two main things making me question whether I want to go S280 or whoosh hybrid are 1) I generally prefer the low end hit on the street and don't track it enough to care a lot about a little more power and 2) I'm not sure if making that extra power over a hybrid is going to cause me cooling issues if I'm WOT for extended periods. I'm leaning toward hybrid, especially since my local track is pretty small and the only time it'd really matter to have the extra power is if I'm at Road America which I don't really want to do again anyway lol.
@@Altonivel93 I sold the car nearly a year ago 😭. I miss it. I'm a lot more familiar with the platform now and am seriously considering going back. I ended up getting a 2016 ATS-V after changing jobs and getting a massive pay increase. It's a fantastic car and way better on track stock compared to the fiesta, but the fiesta had a fun factor that this car just doesn't have. I can commute to work with more comfort, but then I also don't want to put a ton of miles on the car lol. I'm stuck here with a dilemma now of what I want to get next. Main 2 cars are Miata or fiesta st again. Miata would remain mostly stock but the fiesta I could afford to build how I always wanted to.
dude youll love the whoosh if you end up grabbing one. I also have the single port auxilary kit. Im about to start tuning for ethanol on the stock fueing system, then when were done, ill be installing my aux fuel kit. should be cracked!
s280 at 375hp must be to thw wheels and even there there alot of poeple pushing 400+ hp on it and its not a issue also max boost comes around 2600 to 3000 rpm
*Technically a big turbo since it's not reusing the stock turbo. But it's a small big turbo, so it doesn't have as much lag as much as one of the legit Big Turbos.*
What's up man I'm new to the car scene and I had a question because I currently have a ford fiesta se hatchback And I am wondering if like parts that fit the fiesta st will fit my car such as spoilers, bumpers, and exhausts because everytime I look for stuff it only ever says for the fiesta st and I'm worried if I buy it that it won't fit and I just dumped alot of money into those parts for nada Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏
Please keep your vids as educational as these. It’s great to learn from especially when you are into cars
Thanks! I try to make this type when i can 👌🏼

Last owner of my FiestaST came with Garrett M24 AR 80. Its been difficult to find information about this turbo.
When you say max out are you meaning it by itself or with supporting mods like, Intake intercooler, injectors yada yada

Had an S280 on my car for years that I put on myself. Thought it was a hybrid? I don't really see it as "Big Turbo"

Aren't the whoosh and x47r similar in specs?
Similar yes
Where is the dizzy tune link?

Do you need an uprated bov or bypass valve to run the hybrid turbo?
yup
