Hey Serge. Before you made the new compound clip, are those grey bars placeholders? I've used a compressor for the first time on my last video, and thought it improved the quality quite a lot. However, on the video I'm working on now, the compressor is amplifying some sounds I don't want i.e. me breathing in and out. Thoughts?

I noticed that after I did this that the audio is peaking at a few spots. Is it recommended to add a limiter after the compressor?

Serge I recently came across your stuff... and you have quickly become one of my favorites. Quick question, do you have a favorite third part compressor plugin? I love the Focusrite Red plugins, but they keep causing FCP to crash. The built-in plug-in is ok, but nothing compared to the smooth compression of Focusrite, Manley or tube tech.

Thanks for this tutorial! My question: 1) With FCP's magnetic timeline paradigm there are no "explicit tracks". So the only way to apply an effect on a whole soundtrack is to group all the belonging clips into a compound clip first? 2) Or is there an alternative, such as to apply effects to all clips which have a specific audio role?
    3) If a compound clip is the only way to apply audio for multiple clips at once, then I have one more question: If you have markers on your main timeline and group the main timeline A/V-clips into a compound clip markers placed on those clips are no longer accessible and also not available for export as chapter markers. a) Is there a way to expose the chapter markers of clips nested in a compound clip to the exported video file? b) If not, what is the proper workaround? b1) Select A/V-clips of main timeline, detach audio, then combine all audio clips into one compound clip. b2) Edit as usual. And towards the project end put the entire timeline into a compound clip so that the timeline then only contains a single main storyline with a A/V-compound-clip and only then apply audio FX and chapter markers? None of both scenarios is ideal in terms for last minute changes. I hope there's something better. If not then I will vary along these my known methods and their pros/cons depending on the project at hand.
