    Okay I can’t believe I’m the first comment here.
    I own the 2021 Powerboost…
    This F150 gentleman’s work truck is the bomb!
    I don’t care what one review has to say about this being a problem for Ford, I’d like to firmly disagree.
    This vehicle performs better then any work truck of its comparison .
    I’ll go so far as to say it outperforms the early versions of the F250 in ways too many to mention.
    With it’s 12700 lb factory tow package and 7.2 onboard generator this baby is amazing, o let me count the way’s.
    I must have landed a gem because it’s been trouble free thus far.
    Out of my small fleet of truck’s it’s the one I want to drive.
    2021 Lariat 501A.
    I’m a proud owner for sure.

      The PowerBoost is an amazing truck!! We had one for two years and put 60,000 hard miles on it with basically zero issues. Our problem with the 2024 is the fact that they're making it harder and harder to save money on these things. By eliminating 90% of the "buildable combinations" they're basically forcing you to buy an options package (or an entire trim level) you don't need or want, just to get one feature. Anyway, enjoy your PowerBoost!!!

    Well, i built a 2024 regular cab XL 4x4 5.0, just added spray-in bedliner and wheel well liners. 2024 XL 4x4 comes with 3.73 gearing and tow- haul package, so if you build a 2023with same options, it comes out pretty much the same..... but you now get the 12" infotainment screen and it has been refreshed. I just came across your channel. This video is on point. I wonder how many new buyers will realize how much they don't need some of those options they bought in the past now that they have to buy expensive packages or go up in trim level to get them? I have an F-150 with the HDP and max tow packages, but I'm not convinced an F-200 would make it. It would be kind of like the Titan XD and we know how that faired.

    • @ArmyProperty
      @ArmyProperty  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For sure. Unfortunately there's a very small market (of which we're definitely a member) for an F-150 that can hold 3,000 pounds of payload and pull a 14k trailer. Out of curiosity, how much do you tow/haul with your HDPP??? Does it hold up well? Never talked to someone who had one.

      @@ArmyProperty My F-150 is a 2022 long bed XLT SuperCab (extended cab) with a 5.0 and 3.73 rear and I tow an Oliver travel trailer with a 7K GVWR. I usually pull around 6.5K with 1,400 lbs. of passengers, gear and hitch weight. I’m not really taxing this truck and it handles my trailer and load effortlessly. My previous truck was a Tundra 1794. The engine and rear were very strong but it had abysmal payload and towing numbers, not to mentions MPG. There wasn’t a lot out there when I was looking to replace it and other half tons I found only offered about 500 llbs. more payload.

    Remember the 2024 is a mid cycle refresh (i.e. cosmetics). Tailgate and the fugly winch on the tremor are about all that's new.
    One hopeful positive of 90% less options is improved quality with simplification.
    Look at other manufacturers like Toyota, tesla. This is what they are doing,

    • @ArmyProperty
      @ArmyProperty  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup. Tesla offers like 4-5 exterior colors, two interior colors, and maybe a couple other choices (seating config, etc). That's definitely one way to do it. But Ford trucks have always been customizable, because there are so many different customer types and they use their trucks in so many different ways. And the increased grouping of features into option packages will lead directly to higher prices out the door, because customers will be forced to buy a ton of stuff they don't want, to get the one thing they do want. It's just a damn shame.

The LED DRLs on the 2023 model are the same ones on the 2023 and 2024 Lariat and it looks like Ford included the digital screens on all trims to one up Chevy.. Chevy did a mid year refresh in 2022 for the silverados and all LTs and up come with the dual digital screens, but with Ford now, I have to get a Lariat in order to get 2 things, LED DRLs and the homelink system aka the 3 button garage door opener which came with my LT Silverado.. Turbo longevity in a truck? Fake worry. Turbos/superchargers and trucks are the MOST COMMON marriage of all vehicles on earth. Turbos/blowers have been on diesels for generations, they have moved millions of Semi rigs with 1mill miles odomoters. Doubting a 6 cyl gasser w turbos is like doubting a 5.9T Cummins or a '91 GMC Syclone? Just drive it and enjoy! Cant make anyone happy even in the future(2024) w 500tq small V6 twin turbos? lol...its basicly a small displacement Nissan GTR engine in your truck and people think "but is it reliable??" after the 5.4L 3 valve debacle and 6.0T deez snafu's if your rolling dice w Ford your probably still paranoid and thats understandable....
    Nobody is gonna miss that NA base V6 motor they cancelled. Thats why you take the 400hp/400tq DOHC 5.0L Coyote(basicly a Cobra motor) and throw on a dealer installed/warrantied intercooled supercharger for 700+ hp and never look back if your scared of a supercar V6TT. People are Always gonna have something to bitch about lol. Fords have the coolest motors at the moment....2.7/3.5TT....5.0 mustang cobra engine, 7.3 big block, 6.7 diesel 500/1000tq....amazing stuff!
    "I cant believe my new all aluminum, turbo'd all aluminum engine with canbus aerospace grade computers and 10 airbags costs more than 40k?" People forget how good we have it now. You dont have to get out of your truck to lock the hubs for 4wd, computers keep you on the road when its raining, back up cameras on integrated laptop screens, on board power supplies, subwoofer stereos, transformer tailgates, LED lighting thats x2 as bright as old yellow bulbs, etc;
    If you want a 'Mans working truck' be brave and go get a 170hp V8 70s or 80s RC long bed w 5MT and solid axles bouncing around on leaf springs and some rust holes big enough to pass a jelly donut thru for $12k and call it a day....or spend 4-5x that and drive around in a space shuttle truck w 700hp lol...take your pick

  • @jesserevilla992
    @jesserevilla992 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ford has always had the most engine configuration /options and tow packages then any other maker. They are now scaling that back; they are trying to keep costs down and keeping it simple. They cannot continue in the direction they are going. Listen trucks in general are so pricey, so a basic STX 2.7 or 2.7 XLT with the 302A package will be their biggest sellers?
    Sadly dealers are also to blame, killing this business. You are correct a stupid reply from the engineer. They simply copped it from RAM and put a slight twist on it for the F150 lol.. I'm not married to any of these makers. My 2023 is my first F150 XLT with your same dash. And love my 2.7L when towing our Travel Trailer on our NE grades in NC & NE Tenn and great mpg's here in Miami,FL 18.5 -19.5 on Eco Mode. My recent truck was the GMC Elevation 2.7L and the only reason I switched was GMC no longer offered the center Console on the 2.7L GMC but they offer it for all their other motor choices. So all makers are making changes. Here I have a $55K truck and no garage door opener, no memeory seats lol Yet our daugthers car just under 38K has all of it; but hey, it cannot tow lol ...Oh and I do like this 10 Spd Trans thats what's giving great mpg's even while towing. To see 8 & 9th gear while towing is insane lol

    • @ArmyProperty
      @ArmyProperty  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure. It could definitely always be worse. But in a truck with the overall sales volume of the F-150, Ford should have the economies of scale to support a base engine. They could even take a 2.7 or 3.5 and remove the turbos. Same block & heads, but maybe more compression. A lot of ppl really don’t enjoy the idea of a small, high-boost twin-turbo V-6 in a truck, and can’t imagine keeping one for a decade plus. Especially after the warranty expires. Thanks again for the comments!!!
