George C. Scott roasts Don Rickles (LEGENDADO)

"I did not come here tonight to make fun of Don Rickles. Neither did I come here to trade barbs with Don Rickles because it would take a comedian to do the first and true wit to do the second.
Instead, I've come here tonight to say something nice about Don Rickles. And for that you have to have an actor." 😂🤣 Great line!

@@corvuscrow5485 Disagree. The Rat Pack group of entertainers and their show biz admirers constantly made reference to themselves as "having class," "doing it classy"... but most of them were assholes, mean drunks, wife and girlfriend abusers, etc.. Of course they treated each other well enough, but ALWAYS made a show of it. In other words, "classy" was merely a pose. Read their memoirs and their spouses' memoirs. So much ugly, cruel behavior behind closed doors.

George C. Scott's performance in Dr. Strangelove is a comic masterpiece that a performer like Jerry Lewis or Jim Carrey could only dream of. The only reason George decided not to pursue a career in comedy is surely because he chose not to. He is one of the best character actors of the 20th century and a legend in his own right, whose work in many classic films will be seen and studied by many film enthusiasts for many years to come. R.I.P. George C. Scott.

Don Rickles was asked "what profession would you have done if not comedy" He replied deeply I have always wanted to do Broadway. A truly emotional man wrapped in genius but he knew to bring laughter rather than tragedy to the earth. In Shakespeare we both laughed and cried. In Don Rickles comedy we just wanted to die.........Circle. of yin/yang.
