It's like a swing axle setup, it was used in the 1950-70s on the Chevrolet Corvair, VW beetle and on some Tatra trucks amongst others, but is no longer in use due to rollover tendencies.
Jep basically the chamber is the same how cares about the spring type torsion or compression dosnt really matters and wouldn't be a swing axle be a easy and too recreate in sracp mechanic
I like the idea. I've been struggling with something like this for a while. I use two bearings to make the wheel always angle straight down. This makes it more stable.
This is very clever. So simple and elegant. I think I'm going to have to use this on all my vehicles. I'll never find the time or component kits to finish that big fully auto farm at this rate=) Bravo again sir.
I like the suspension. Also tye car you made for this suspension, you should keep it somewhere because it looks amazing. It looks like a offroad buggy or something, and you have a lot of storage!
Given the weight distribution of the vehicle, I suspect you improve the design by adding steering to rear set of wheels (using the inverse steering system). I have a mining 6 x 6 that handles really well using that pattern.
Could you do kl suspension and vehicle design for some kind of sports car? I want to make a vehicle to go really fast and smooth across the whole map. Needs to be able to go over the road jumps so would need a good center gravity as well.
use it on a sport car oO?? i say u can use it on every type of vehicle. Sorry i´m very Bad in Visual Decoration Building. If you want a Sport Car Looking Thing then i´m the Wrong Person. I made you here the Technic aspect for a Car ( any Type ) but how to make a Car Frame looking like a Sportscar. that i cant. I´m for the "Inside" ( mechanical stuff ) not for the Outside ( unimportent decoration part ) ;)
@@00FantMod No sorry, I just meant a kind of suspension for a low center of gravity sports car, not the visuals. Because if you just do the standard suspension method, it's so bouncy and you lose speed. If you add weight to counteract it, you use too much fuel. I was thinking like F1 car style suspension, but I can't work out how to make it work.
ahhh, ok ^^ i did a test and a f1 like suspesions is ok for creative ( not survival ) but for survival it needs way to much bearings. with other vehicles around it will be fps kill =/
@@00FantMod if u still have use for a good suspension (and don't mind grinding same more bearings) use a doubel wishbone and set the upper wishbone inwards like in this video OR you use a shorter opper controllarm /wishbone to make it pivit inwards(making the chamber more negative) as it gets compressed (by extending the attachment points(of the upper arm) at the wheel or chassis you cann influence the chamber oder the way of travel but I can't give any info about the fps friendly likelihood of it Edit : forget to mention that the spring is connected to one of wishbones (commonly the low wishbone to decrease build hight) Also the negativ chamber is the helping thing in cornering because it increases the contact patch of the outer wheels as the weight pusches outwards do too centrifugal forces the car rolls and the effectiv chamber gets closer to 0 degrees the contact patch grows and provide more grip on the heavier loaded tire
Wahnsinn! Amazing! So, if I have understood it right, the lower bearing manages the axle, which is dampened by the top spring which has an extra bearing for it to work correctly. This other bearing could be either left or right of the spring, and the middle bearing is there to adjust the height. Like that milka advertisement: Aber Vorsicht, is kool män! Ah, ein Stadtmensch! Sie glauben wohl auch, dass wir hier oben etwas altmodisch sind. Aber das stimmt nicht. Wir haben die neue Federung erfunden! Aber Vorsicht! Is Kool Män!
I do have a question though. When you really have something EXTRA HEAVY, like for instance all the stuff from a warehouse welded together, as soon as you place (weld) it on the car, the wheel bearings pull out (shear). Is there a remedy for that other than do several runs with less weight on the car?
its Not a Double Wishbone. ( i know who that must look like ) and if u have watched the whole video. I say that is a Unrealistic Suspesions that would not work in "Real" but in ScrapM because of the Parts/Joint Banding. They can a bit Deform. That is why it is Stable, Strong and Fps Friendly
00Fant I understood that :) because there are no bearings on both frame and wheel sides to keep the wheel “parallel” to the frame, it isn’t a double wishbone susp. More like a pushrod suspension :) What I think I understand is that the spring allows more load by being horizontal than vertical and because it has only one bearing on its frame side...?
the horizontal positioning is to reduce the space it takes and without the Parallel bars it is a little suspesionglitch stabelizer too. ( very weak in counter force ) that helps alot with the drivestablitity. and without the Additional Bearings to make it to a DoubleWish... it is bending under heavyload and that helps to carry heavy loads. ( i use somekind of part deforming, u know if something is to heavy it will bend a bit the bearings or pistons. )
I tried it for my buig packaging truck but the suspetion glitches a lot and do a full 360 passing trought the pipes :( I will have to do something easier like what u did on your giga banana packager xD
It's the bearing the problem the single bearing on the wheel not the suspension itself really -- for fun I built this and it was super glitchy on a complicated vehicle.

Honestly that is exactly what I needed for my truck

This is the best suspension I have seen in scrap mechanic survival

This is by far the best suspension setup I've used
Your HowToBuild videos are so good! I've made many of these projects, thanks for creating these!
this is like the tatra or tera sus which is nice
holy shit im loving this design very well thought out
Like a sideways McPherson strut. Nice
Thank you just added this suspension to heavy woodcutter build. Thank you!
Das nenne ich mal ne krasse Federung, nicht schlecht. Werde ich bestimmt auch mal gebrauchen können
Awesome building skills
thx i was trying to build a double wishbone set up for one of my veicles and it was to heavy hopefully this works

i have all saved =)
Sehr geil! kann man gut gebrauchen.
Ich hab auch mal nen bisserl getüftelt .......beim nächsten Clip :)

Thx keep it up and I love yours widios
It would be nice to have a Stronger bearing to accommodate heavy builds
The skinny pipes don't seem to work for me. The thick pipes don't glitch and roll in on themselves like the thin pipes do.
when i built this, it didn't even compress, is there any way to fix the suspention glitch?
Can it carry the weight of ~200 food blocks?
You’ve seen banana truck. Now get ready for banana boat
Nice suspension
so from what i can tell im going 4 resource collectors and it seems like level 5 suspension is mandatory

use this suspesion type. its realy stable. and u can adjust the height ( controler )

00fant, why do we need the 2 bearings between the car and the suspension? something I have never understood :/
height adjustment ( controler bearing Degree )
That SUB and LIKE sign! its GREAT! :D
nice it have adjustable positive and negative Camber 😂

Do it work in creative, because it isn’t suspending in any way und drives and flies slowly.

sure ^^? because they are like small stabelizer. ( suspensionglitchs ) but very weak.
So, what the name this vehicle?
Good
I had fun !! thx
how to make a survival world flat?

@@00FantMod thanks but I wanted to know which part of the script I should change. however, if it is bad for business no worries.
