- To my HowToBuild "Simple Automated Farm" i got many requests for the Harvesting too.
So, here i made a new one with 2 Modes, Harvest and Plant ( watering too ).

I use to have a similar setup all on one set of pistons. But now in hopes of reducing risk to catastrophic failure I've broken up the moving parts into separate watering, planting and picking modules. Works well but super laggy.
I finally completed this! I had to do a little debugging (and learned a lot, mostly that some connections are directional). It's working great, but omg took so much glue 😂😂😂
Same here=) The directional connections really got me.... at first it would water, then stop after the first sensor. Once I'd got that fixed, it works like a charm. Thank you once again 00Fant! I now have a working, 432 plot auto watering/planting and harvesting farm=) I just hope the single rail concrete 2 barrier I hurriedly placed around it is up to the job until I work out a way to add auto spud guns/sensors over such an area. Question. The area you call the base plate. Obvious width wise it's the number of plots + 6 blocks (3 each side of the plot grid for the track along the garden edges) but from the plots to the beginning of the base plate do you remember how many blocks deep that is?
Want to make sure I have enough before I start this so not have to redo it all again if I have the wrong amount of rows.

Another great video, Managed to build this only changes i made was a switch for each function and did mine without wheels and it works great just used blocks instead
I am currently a poor Scrap Mechanic so I can't build this now, but I'm very excited to try after I collect the 900 component kits and 50 rock formations I'm pretty sure this takes to build.

5:11 I'm 99% sure that you could have connected the two lines of pistons on only the last step and not every step, if it was on a lift, and then you welded that structure to your wood platform :)

Does the harvesting part, one vacuum can harvest 3 soil area? Im confuse why you only have 4 vacuum only on harvest
Amazing tutorial! I'm gonna try and build this today. A couple of days ago I lost my car on the other side of the map due to dying without having a respawn bed on - and I couldn't locate neither the bag or the car again. Was considering reloading prior but at the very end of me almost giving up, I found the bag and car again! The feeling of happiness and achievement is hard to understand until you have run around the map for 3-4 hours looking for your car, without a map, poor gear etc.
yeah sometimes this happens to me too :D
hint maybe build the Small Flyer so u can Travel very fast to get the stuff back.
@@00FantMod True :) I currently only have like 20 hours into the game in total - so still developing and gathering materials etc. I'm really enjoying the game. Component kits - my nemesis when trying to expand.... always need more.

Only improvement I can make is using glass for the guide next to the wheels, it has less friction and the sides of the wheels
My farm keeps duplicating the soil... Any tips for preventing this?
seperate Harvest and Planting. Dont do it at the same time and close together. its a current bug.

hey fant, i tried making the farm but when on harvest mode, it keeps planting those suck up seeds... do you have any idea why?

I cant make that to function on my base i did exactly how you made it there but the machine keeps watering even when it turns back ... but the problem is if i connect the nor gate the main one to the water and the seeder it starts untill the 1st sensor pickup and then comes back ...
dont slide the options in the pisten menu only click them. They save much more reliable.

I love your mod. I wont play without Rusty Fusion - Fant. I followed your tutorial exactly but when i start the machine after it hits the first watering sensor, the machine turns off and resets. Did i miss something?
Could someone tell me how big the beginning platform needs to be? I don’t want to mess it up
This is kinda laggy in survival. Does the material matter with the wheel friction/collision?
yah laggy. there are better designs. this video is just to show the principle
@@00FantMod It's hard to do it at scale without a design that uses many cannons and pumps. A 5x5 plot is easy with just a few but once you get much bigger than that it's less efficient

Is there a way to make this start automatic? When the plants are fully grown start harvesting and planting without me having to press anything

Hi OOFant I cant seem to get the logic work.
Changed everything 3 times..
the only problem is watering without planting; pineapple and broccoli need to be watered twice, would be nice to do it without wasting a lot of seeds :)
Can anyone tell me why he welds the pistons together from side to side only to take beam out later?
so u can connect all at the end to "One" Cart. There are different ways to get this.
Other way would be to build the whole piston + cart on the lift and then weld it to the ground / farm.
00Fant ah thanks dude I’m new to scrap mechanic and I’m still learning all the little tricks. Can I also ask why you have a controller on the wheels set to 360- does that drive the wheels as well as the pistons or is that just there to keep the wheels stationary when the cart isn’t moving? If so it’s not necessary I guess if you cover the wheels you won’t even see them spinning is that right?
a small compact jeep next maybe with built in chemical collector would be good

If you updated this, it would be really good, with a proper tutorial, for example it would tell you what you need and stuff, and being a bit more specific, otherwise works well and have no problems with it
