If you consider to buy a new bivvy you should look at the Fox R Series 1 Man XL too. It has an inbuild peak to prevent rain coming in, lots of extra headroom, and much more space. Including a sturdy frame, heavy groundsheet, and big mozzy screens for ventilation at a very good price range.
Thanks, yeah I was really lucky to find one in stock when I did. All the disruption to supply chains and people going back to fishing in the lockdown sent demand through the roof. I hope you enjoy your bivvy!
Yeah totally agree about the clip on pack down i used my frontier last week In the gales and it didn’t move I also have the vapour peak cannot fault it I’ve owned quite a few bivvys but this is a brilliant bit of kit I also really like the black out material used inside very dark at night vey impressed nice bit of kit 👍🏻
I really like it, I've managed a couple of nights in it since making the video, setting up in rain and high winds, it was so quick and easy. I've got the vapour peak now too, and it seems to do a good job.
I'm considering buying the X but I can't seem to find a single video where they show the groundsheet more thoroughly.. I'm used to having fixed groundsheet, how does this compare? Does the clips straighten the sheet or is it all wrinkly? Also does it do the job to close any gaps so that insects and other creatures won't come in through the sheet? All the best mate
I've never had a fixed one, so hard to compare. The clips work well though, and there's a decent margin at the bottom of the sides for it to sit over. It's the best one I've owned, but some of the previous ones I've had have probably been a bit ropey.
Good video, I just got mine. Am I being stupid but I can’t unzip the middle door to replace it with the mozzie version, does it just stay on unzipped and you add the new infill?
I was struggling with this at first there is a nact to it and its a bit fiddly I had to get my mate to show me. You have to bring the 2 zips down one side and take it off that way I think it's the left side.
I have the X but a few weeks ago the plastic bit round the holes for where the overwrap connects, came off and will not go back on. Very poor customer service. Just don’t seem to respond. At the moment I would not recommend fox to anyone. Hope this changes.
Hello mate, I can only compare it to the trakker tempest based on having seen one of those set up in angling direct, I've never owned one. All I can say is, the fox one is all quite a bit heavier gauge than a tempest, so it feels pretty robust. I've had mine for a while now and had no problems with those plastic connectors.
Hi there what height is the internal head height.i know the dimensions say 130cm but was not sure if this was the door height.i have a tempest brolly at the moment which is to low. TIA
I haven't yet, at this time of year I'd expect to have used the mozzie mesh, but it's been raining so much I haven't, so I can't offer any advice on that I'm afraid.
Hi Peter, as it happens I've got the bivvy up in the garden right now to dry it out after one of the wettest fishing trips of my life... I can't seem to attach a photo to my reply, but I'll try and describe it. If you start at the bottom right of the bivvy as you look at it from the front, you should be able to just zip it round like doing up a jacket. The door itself is slightly more complicated as you have four zippers; I leave two at the top in the middle & use them for the "letterbox" setting and have the other two at either end so I can open the door fully if I want to. Hope this helps.

Great video! Had one on back order for months and it’s finally arrived in store. Can’t wait to collect it - really glad I went for one of these!

Hi, Can this be taken down with the infill panel still attached? Thanks

im looking to get the frontier x.. but one thing on my mind is plastic elbow joints my current tempest is all metal so thinking is that a weak point

Have you tried to swap over the doors from the solid to the other 2 I have and I’m having a nightmare

Have you got a close video of attaching the font, because I'm having trouble, need some close ups of zip configuration.

Are any of the 2 zip buckles actually attached to either the front panel or the bivvy as mine come completely off.
That doesn't seem to have come through, but you could try emailing us (Eastangliafishing@gmail.com).
The zipper on mine is attached to the bivvy, so, it's hard to tell without seeing it, but it sounds like yours may be faulty or broken.
