Great review brother!! I agree with major Zonk for no manual option!! Shout out to big guns! Saw his reflection in that beautiful paint! Nice video 🤙🏻🤙🏻
OMG OMG OMG OMG THANKS JOE FOR THIS AWESOME DROP DEAD GORGEOUS 2020 MINI COOPER COUNTRYMAN ALL4 JCW. This is what I wanted to see and I bet u so did others. I would absolutely love to get 1 of these 1 day. Would love to see a 2020 Mini Cooper Clubman ALL4 JCW. Thanks Joe. Keep up the great work and reviews.
💋🚘Love this updated one. I currently have a 2015 JCW countryman. Now with your review it's time for a upgrade. MINI IS SUCH A FUN AND SAFE CAR TO DRIVE.🚘
Never was a Mini fan but with that much performance and AWD, it’s gotta be a blast to drive. Too bad it comes with a BMW price. Nice review Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
but there is nothing to cross shop in this sect.. trust me.. i was trying but nothing compares.. its a sub-compact sport SUV.. i'm open to possible lateral competitors w/finish and performance.. no Golfs or WRXs.. we need crossover/sub-compact suv.. and don't you even dare mention a buick or chevy or ford.. rogue perhaps.. but space and doors make it not as roomy
@@doctorrobert60 test drive one.. then talk about that gear box.. that 8 speed is faster than i can move a shifter, its literally i click and it shifts.. fast.. MT mode is the way to drive this MINI..
This is my next next car! Not this color but oh my! I do worry about the engine longevity. May just get a S, they’re still little rockets for a crossover. Love this video, been waiting for an in depth video of the new engine.
btw.. 2020 JCW Countryman does have full power seats w/2 preset memory options. just test drove one today too. also the left rear exhaust has a flap that is opened when in sport mode to enhance exhaust note/perf. also does wireless apple carplay and iphone x does fit in the armrest/wireless charging spot. performance is excellent! i currently own a 2013 custom built Cooper S Coupe (R58) and well.. this thing feels good, that ALL4 works well!! exhaust sounds good and most likely even better once its broke in, aka 1500 miles later..mine is queued for build date of oct 2019 so i'm all for more 2020 JCW vids.. :) also.. you can go sport vs jcw seats if you don't want that cloth on seats. ;) lastly.. manual will return but not in 2020.. per BMW press media.. currently is an issue w/it mated to the current updates to engine but i've heard rumors that 2021 will have manuals across the board if technical issues w/new manual is worked out.. :) yea, i'm a total MINIac even more so.. HUD can be fully adjusted.. the numbered buttons below screen can be programmed to any function in the UI like in iDrive. infotainment is literally iDrive w/a mini theme.. a great thing!! sounds in HK system is very good, solid bass and mids and highs.. can get very loud w/o distortion. got to hangout w/a test drive model today while waiting to build my own build. lastly lastly.. you can now order a 2020 JCW F60 w/o any chrome for quite a few pennies.. i got an Island Blue w/Black top and black door handles, front, rear taillights and interior on order to be built in oct... edited: tons of em.. love minis way too much
Another function of that exhaust flap is to help heat up the catalytic converter. Hotter catalytic converter lowers noxious fumes (NOx) emissions. Also, a more restrictive exhaust helps turbo spooling at lower REVs.
This car is now a macan competitor in my view. Maybe not the same sleek looks but you’d be hard to find a crossover more fun and special then these two.
To be honest I never really gave minis a look. They just look kind of corky to me and a bit to small for me but this one really catches all 4 of my eyes lol. Manual seats is a bit disappointing but wouldn't be a deal breaker. I agree with the zonk for no ventilated seats for almost $50k. Thumbs up on the review Mr. Raiti.
How many times do you adjust the seats in your car? I guess it is useful if you have two drivers who used the same car, but most people don't share a car and never adjust the seats. It is just extra weight, and lower acceleration. I've got a Countryman and only after 20 months did I have to find the seat adjuster two days ago to get something in the car (I wasn't even sure where the adjuster was).
Very Nice, and those are some decent HP number , VW better bump the R's power. I just sold my Golf R but im really liking the JCW Clubman All4 better than the countryman. Great review BTW
Originally Mini designed by Alex Ignosis. First car to use front wheel wheel drive, front lateral engine. FIRST car to be designed like this. SO we can thank Ignosis & BMC for almost all cars engine & drive today, My wife had one as her first car in the sixties.
I'm a fan of the JCW Countryman. We have the 2016 model. Price tag is a bit on the high side, but that's to be expected. Another car I like for this price point is the Kia Stinger GT.
This is the First Mini that I really REALLY like. It's still too small it's still too pricey but it's a way cool fun ride that puts the power to the pavement with a limited-slip front diff AWD system, I like it.
For anyone that truly knows Mini, knows that the Countryman is not a mini. Not the same driving experience and just doesn’t feel the same. Currently running a John Cooper Works Hatch Convertible which is a lot of fun.
The greatest zonk with the car is definitely the lack of a manual - it's not very Mini like to begin with. I'm still deciding in my head if the previous JCW Countryman with the manual and less power is the better option. I almost feel like the manual might be the more fun option for an enthusiast
Very good review. Right now I own countryman2012 and interested to trade for year 2021. What I don't like is wind noise and loud passenger cabin. Could you remind when you tested drive year2020 if it's still loud in the cabin? Than kyou
I love everthing about it. Except the price. 😁 I guess i will have to go sorrento and look that out of the windows and just say i love that mini when it pass by. 😂
As much as I love these, 47k is hard to swallow for such a small car in the performance range of a Type R, Golf R and Focus Rs. All of those could be had (well except the RS which is no longer on sale) for 7-8k less. Hell, you can get a mediumly optioned Kia Stinger GT for the same price.

Part of being sporty. You don't want a lightweight wheel where you are going to throw yourself off the road or overcorrected too quickly. These things will drive different than the likes of a Honda or such

You’re buying the name... mini’s drive differently from most other vehicles because of their size and handling. I own a mini. It’s a love/hate relationship. Ha
For those that are wondering, one can choose the option for powered seats, and one can also choose Union Jack rear taillights which would be LED.
Wayne Yap Would this also depend on what region you live?
In the US they have nothing to choose
Looks like my next lease, after I return my JCW CLUBMAN. Thanks.
Thanks Zach for letting me share it with you!
It’s a car you want to remain in warranty with for sure.
Thanks for the review picking mine up next Friday can't wait.

They need to make an awd mini cooper
That is coming so stay tuned!
You mean like a hardtop? Cooper goes across the whole range
I wander why they didn’t update the rear lights to led like that have done with the clubman and the 2 door.
Its an option that this car doesnt have
Really need to do some sort of anti flicker setting on the camera so the screens and lights don’t flicker so much.

How is this compared to the JCW Clubman you reckon?
Love the world were living in when a Mini has 301hp
Those rear seats don't do "the 60:40 split". They're 40:20:40.
That huge circle in the middle of the dash has always been a huge "Zonk" in my opinion. I know, opinions are like arm pits, we all have them.
I feel like a Mini product is not in your future. LOL
This is the only vehicle I can buy also Joe.
I think that the flat black trim around the fenders is a bit to large for this small vehicle.
It is larger than a cooper.
What was that noise @ 19:54? Anywho I'll keep my R56 for a while with that price, great review thanks.
well technically they've now owned them since 1996 and launched the mini cooper in 2001

The trend today on 2.0t I4 is MORE ♫ more ♬ more HP Then it would probably break sooner than expected Good review
It will be intersting to see how this turns out!

My only knock is that they discontinued manual transmissions for this. I would still take it off road 😍
When Mini will start making them reliable?? I don't need to tow my camper behind it but want this little thing to be reliable.

Side by side with an original Countryman....
the increase in size would blow the minds of a whole (younger) generation.
Look at the badge and look at the badging
Yep
I hope I can get one soon, first car!
You speak of those curves in the road as if they're hard-core chiccanes. A 1980s Lada would also be smooth along that road...
Does it have the 1971 Plymouth roadrunner grille ? 🤔
I totally see it now! Good eyes!
Drove a regular mini before, 2 things I don't like it's the car is too stiff/bumpy and steering wheel is kind of heavy

Did I hear rev matching a couple times?
Yeah mate, watched a lot of vids and this definitely rev matches which sounds sweet

Holy crap! I couldn't agree more. That has ALWAYS looked like shit!
I disagree
I think it's fun and that is what Mini is all about.
@@RaitisRides as an owner of a beautiful modified r56 jcw, the circle dash is one of my favorite things about it :D

Auto or CVT ?

MPG?
Good reveiw this new product increases minis dip in the segment but reliabity depreciation is a disaster
Thanks for your thoughts on this one Jay!
I'm going to submit a "Zonk" on those overly large fender trim pieces.
You have that right here on Raiti's Rides!
I was questing about the the prices $29k but it’s $49k 😫
29k ?
What awd 300hp German car is there for 29k?
How much Mini JCW COUNTYMAN? let me know. Thanks
49k! Extremely overpriced, especially since the market for it is very small.
I feel your pain!
Json07 if you’re patient, you can let someone else take the depreciation hit
I can't let it go. The 19" wheels look like 14" wheels because of those huge fender trim pieces. "Zonk"!
I think you are stretching that just a tad. ;-)
I would zonk them on those 2 windshield washer pimples on the hood. They should have hidden them. Otherwise, quite impressive.

I love this car it’s my dream car but there is no way i’m buying it with no 360 degrees cameras like most of the cars of the same price
The 2019 are going for over $56,000.00 to $59,000.00 + 13% Taxes in 😎🇨🇦
That is nuts!
Hmm. Everything is great. But over 49 thousand for a Mini is little hard to get over...
go to Canada and buy Mini there, way cheaper ! You are welcome !

Joe would anyone spend 50k for 301hp? 😂 it looks good and pretty luxurious but come on
I don't know about luxurious, it doesn't even have leather seats
Natanael Aguillon someone is going to pay that price, but anyone with brains will pass on this
If someone could buy Toyota Avalon TRD for nothing added in hp/torque + FWD why not for AWD
You’re buying the name... mini’s drive differently from most other vehicles because of their size and handling. I own a mini. It’s a love/hate relationship. Ha
No bmw hp figures can be trusted, I'm guessing it's more like 335+hp
Not sure they can put the manual in due to EU Emission regulations. Shame as a manual would be far more engaging and fun to drive.
You need to review the 2020 Clubman JCW. Countrymen is just too bulky.
Stay tuned because it is on the way.
Why is the US getting lower horsepower numbers than Europe?
The first Mini was launched in 1959. The oil crisis you refer to was in 1973. There is no connection. This is not a Mini but a BMW badged as a Mini.
