I test drove a 2021 this weekend and these things can really haul! It actually reminds me of a miniature Macan GTS in terms of being a sporty SUV that combines performance and utility in a good way.
I own a 2015 Mini Cooper 4 Door Hardtop. It doesn’t break down ever but you have to be able to keep up with the maintenance. I bought a extended warranty and boy I needed it this year. A sensor broke and the sensor happened to be attached to the radiator so I had to change the whole thing. Total cost: $1,800. Since around 2015 they have improved in terms of reliability but you need to know you’ll have to pay a lot for maintenance and repairs. By the way, break pads cost $650
I love my Mini but the cost of the repairs are crazy. My last 2 came to over $6000, and one came 2 months after my warranty ran out. The one for $4000 they refused to pay for even though it was covered under warranty. They finally paid for it after I had to drive 100km each way home to get my copy of the warranty and then had to get the dealership owner involved. 😖. Which sucks as I’m now looking to replace my Mini and I want another Mini but the service has turned me off of ever dealing with Mini or BMW ever.
My 2010 clubman didnt need repairs for years HOWEVER my friend's mini broke the gasket because he ignored the fact that these guys consume oil instead of recycling it. Thats the only thing is you have to keep up with mostly simple maintenance. They are arguably more of a happy fun than my golf.
Just finished the video and All I wanna know how it feels in comfort mode. I’m really interested in this gen of countryman but I don’t want anything to rough riding if that makes sense. Other than that I’d need a moonroof and the windows tinted. I agree too that at 50k ventilated seats should come standard lol
@@MarkLagunas I bought a JCW countryman just this year. I have to say, "green" mode feels very soft and mushy, especially compared to sport mode. However, it still retains the sport-like suspension and ride quality that you'd expect from a performance car. The shifting in green mode is also considerably more mellow than in sport mode. All in all, green mode is good to save gas but it really just feels like driving a RAV4 at the end of the day. I'd recommend driving in mid mode for the best of both worlds.
They should make a Minnie just scaled up so it’s the size of a crossover and become legit competition in the US market, but , unfortuanatly, at the cost of ruining the brand image

Great reaview, good job. I enjoyed watching. Everything is covered in detail. A small complaint in the part about driving, I have the impression that the camera is set up incorrectly, and because of that, you can't see how much fun it is to drive this car. All in all, it was a pleasure to watch !!!

For $50k BMW did an amazing job on this car, but I am puzzled how BMW can charge $55k plus for their i3 EV that doesn't even have the build quality or power as this Mini Countryman.

Mini is just part of their group of car brands they also own rolls Royce. The cars are still designed and built by mini. It's like how VW owns Lamborghini and Audi.

How is the ride? We live in Chicago and have a 2007 S. The Mini exaggerates every bump you hit and our roads are loaded with potholes and buckled pavements. The car is fun to drive until you hit a bump, then it feels like its going to fall apart. The roads you are driving in this video look new and smooth.

The bulge used to be a fake scoop, so they ditched that, which is good. 300hp out of a 2L engine is amazing. 50K is kooky though. That’ll be 60K in Canada, I have no doubt.

Great video. I couldn't get a JCW. I got a 2021 Countryman all 4s, with signature package , and a few other features for 29k out the door. Military sales has a great deal on these.
In my opinion, it looks like a car that is best for going to college.
Only that most college students are broke and this car is very expensive

The new ones 2015-present are absolutely amazing cars. The maintenance can be expensive but it’s definitely worth it

You can get the JCW exhaust from mini to be implemented to your mini. I know this is a old comment
