As a Cooper S 5 door 60 years owner with same engine/gearbox combo, this is the next car to be parked next to it at home. JCW is out of the price range and here in Australia where would you use it anyways in traffic and low speed limits compared to Europe. Great review, actually brilliant review as it's like you were at the dealer and tried these things. I bought my last car based on reviews, didn't even drive one or sit in it and it is bang on awesome! Probably do the same again with the Clubman!!
I get that the DCT transmission is a quick-shifting experience when toying around. But what are your impressions with gentle neighborhood starts, traffic creep, etc? This is where DCTs have been known to clunk/shudder, and hesitate.
I’m LOVING the Clubman S!!! I want the Mini sportiness, but don’t want to go to the expense of the JCW. I also would like a 4 door without the quirky look of the 4 door Cooper. I just became an uncle and will be transporting my niece from time to time, so the Clubman will be PERFECT for me and our growing family!!!
I remember when I first subscribed and you had around 20k subscribers and now you have over 100k. Thanks for the great content as always Joe. Really love those reviews!
@@CanadianCruisin It really is true what they say, repetition leads to habit. After cranking them out like he does daily, it comes so natural to him now. I am in the UK Looking to maybe get a clubman Great vid mate lot's of info but you are sure a speed freak It's the best review of the clubman l have seen Thanks from the UK.
Thanks, Joe! I have been asking for it, and I can see you’re working on it. I can’t wait for your review of the JCW. This car is pricey, but it’s so unique. Thunder gray with white roof and mirror, and burgundy interior for me, please.
Hey Joe, major zonk for the higher rate of speed through that neighborhood during the drive portion. Only takes one child running out to retrieve a ball, etc, to ruin your life and their loved one's life forever. As a firefighter/emt, ask me how I know.
@@DS..69 Almost 24 years of marriage, and still fit after 47 years, but I definitely get your point. Nice to meet a fellow brother. After 17 years in the dept., I still love the job, but can't help be a little jealous of what Joe does.
Just got mine a few days ago S with a manual transmission. It is making me a bit nuts as I expected "more" and am already trying to figure out how to get it closer to the JCW Clubman. I wish I knew someone like Lohan but in the US as I am in a quandary as to who can help me. Love the car, it just doesn't have the handling characteristics I was hoping for. As there were no JCWs and no manuals on the lot, I had to make decision by internet and really wanted the manual. Trying to look at this as a chance to learn more about how to get it where I want it (other than replacing the tires because that one is obvious). Have any suggestions as to who could help in the midwest?
I really like that they changed the tail lights. If I recall, the original taillights were those red strips down at the bottom because of US regulations. Glad to see if they moved back to the top.
The tail lights were in the barn doors..... the brake lights were in the bumper due to US regulations. The new ones have the brake lights in the tail light assembly in the rear doors but switch to the bumper if the rear doors are open.
Hey Joe. Litte question regarding this one: The sound doesn't seem to be as poppy as in the 3door hatch. Is ist really that way? Or did you just haven't put it in sport mode for this little "sound test". Regards from germany. 😁
As a former owner of Gen 3 Mini 3-door Hatch, I have to say I enjoy driving it, but I don’t really enjoy riding the same car as a passenger. And I would definitely prefer Clubman over the 3-door hatch for practicality.
I really wish that Mini would at least offer ventilated front seats across their lineup because by the time you option them up to be fully-loaded they rival other cars price-wise that offer that which makes no sense
I applaud Mini staying in the game with their Mini Cooper cars rather than giving into the pressure of this stupid Truck/crossover/SUV trend. Unlike VW letting the beetle and Fiat dropping the 500. Mini keeps improving on their Coopers. They are smart because no trend in vehicles stay around for ever.
I see what you did there. I have done it 3 times, (father hood) the first being 18 years ago. Once we found out what causes it, we stopped cold turkey after me getting neutered at the witch dr's.
This is a loaded car. Also, you should really drive one before you form your opinion based solely on price. We sell plenty at this price point as well as less expensive ones and see people trade all kind of vehicles for them, from $500 beaters to AMG Mercedes, Corvettes, CTS-V's, etc. I've been here 10 years and have even seen people trade Vipers and Porsche 911 Turbo's for MINIs.

Good looking Mini. My wife had one years ago.....and misses it dearly. Think I’ll get her this one and “borrow” it every now and then. 😉
