Just bought my own TT from the auction house last week. Hopefully I don't have to go to the lengths you have had to go through to get yours back on the road! Brilliant rebuild though, super enjoyed binge watching it tonight. As a side note, you mentioned a more detailed engine build on a Golf/S3?
Nice job Dean and you gave a good lesson on the PCV they are a pain if you have no idea what they do, I know people who have had the noise but couldn't work it out.
nice one Dean....you adding a little "How to" section is brilliant.. (explaining PCV)....if you had a little section where you briefly explain a part, that would be epic.."this week guys a two minute overview of intercoolers"...sort of thing..
Great car, awesome repair, nice guy, superb video, honest and open on costs, so yeah perfect all the way. First 100 miles easy on the pistons, break them in carefully. This car will bring joy for many years!
Our Somoa Orange Amplified TFSI manual with 32k miles was 15k last year July. If Labour from specialist was included in the bill, then no profit I'd imagine.
Is it possible that the faulty PCV valve caused the engine failure in the first place? Maybe under or overfuelling, or messing up the lubrication? Just throwing that out there!
Nicely done. I like the interior colour. My brother has a mk2 TTs with the usual alarm siren packing up and typically the bolt it is held on with just spins. Solution? Bloody wing has to come off. What is it with Audi engineers. Bose amp is in the boot in an area that gets lots of condensation so eventually packs up due to corrosion. Rear lights have an earth problem where a new thicker earth has to be installed to bypass the piss poor Audi attempt. So many little design flaws.
Love watching your vids. Have been watching you from your transporter days. Have you still got that company? Looking fwd to seeing the Porsche back on its wheels. Keep the vids coming. 👏 Jules n Karen
Started watching @SavingSalvage after you shared the link on the TT forum. Have now watched the Caravelle, S1, TT and probably some other I've forgotten! Great bids. Will you be rafefling this bad boy or selling??!!
I'm not sure I want to know the answer to this but at 6:50 are you using an impact driver to tighten the spark plugs? I've always done them manually with a torque wrench, is it safe to use the driver instead?
Hi Dean. Good job getting that Engine back in. I bet you will be glad when its finished and gone lol. Wow it sounds brilliant. A new PCV valve and your off. No leaks or nothing. The Camera darkness is fine Dean. This will be a Great car for someone especially when it gets a few coats of Polish and a good Valet. I think £2000 was not too bad to get it all Finished. Engine. Wheels. Parts. Tyres. And the £8000 for the Car. That's not too bad Dean. Someone will get a cracking car. Hopefully it will be me. Lol. Anyway your a Bloody Legend Pal and another Great car hits the road again. Respect. I think if you had not rescued this Car then it would have been Scrapped and parted out. So Thanks for saving another Car. Ireland loves you lol 😅😅
How much would you charge to do head gasket , new tappets and rocker arms on one of this cars ? I have same car and engine and the engine is sweating oil from head gasket
Great work on the TT as always. Can I pick your brain? I’ve a a6 C7 and it has a frayed drivers seatbelt, do I simply disconnect the battery and replace it or will the new belt need recoding? Thank 👍

Hi Dean please let me know if you are going to do a Raffle and keep up the great work your a amazing macanic/engineer so interesting to watch 🤜🤛👌
I want to see that TVR back on the road
Recently discovered your channel.. Hats off you doing all this yourself. Really like what you do.
Should be proud of yourself, Dean. Great job
you're a good mechanic sir ..! tq so much for sharing your knowledge..well done.
Could the broken pcv valve have caused the initial engine damage?
This was a great series! Watch all the episodes 👏🏾
Satisfying 2013 rebuild this one...The newer Audis dont have dipsticks now...She sounded sweet once youd hooked everything up again...😳😏😏🇬🇧
Im only here for the TVR, when are we getting back into it??
Best youtube site around keep it coming 👍
Thanks, will do!
You're a magician when it comes to engine rebuilds! Well done, mate!

Agreed, good to get the explanation. Massive issue on Mini Cooper S engines of the R56 era, the PCV membrane tears.
The PCV system in those 2.0T engines is a right pain. If it wasn't for flipping i'd get a PCV delete kit and catch can.
!.6mm over 75% of the centre of the tyre tread area, the remaining does not need visible tread.
Yeah, my outer edge was bald, but all good

Thank you mate, yeah haven’t boosted it yet. Will go east 😊👌🏼
@@SavingSalvageyou need to go West. Much safer 🤣🤣🤣

Would still be a little I think, 30 hours at £60 an hour is £1800. They haven’t dropped in value as there’s only 2 for sale at 15 and 16.5k now
Brilliant job done once again Dean
Good job. Need to provision a cost for full tracking/steering wheel realignment.
7:46 don't burn the starter motor out Dean
Why did you try original start with headlights on ?not helping the starter circuit.
Interior on that tt looks mint to be honest, super rare example should get the money your after👍
Your diagnoses is spot on as always dean cheers
Nice sneaky view of the tvr
Beautiful car Dean. Dont forget the Air con regas,!!
Had two mk2 tt’s love them
Good day. Very impressive, thank you very much indeed.
TVR?
Considering the exhaust wasn't connected and you didn't install the airbox, that sounded like an engine direct from factory. Well done!
Brilliant loved this build top quality 👍🏽👍🏽
Did the faulty valve cause the piston damage in the first place?
I know that road near the end of the video, great for putting your foot down 😉👍
Great work again, when will tickets be available?
Im already in for s1
Nice work. Lovely Car
The first time you shut it off and I heard the hissing I thought ohh I recognize that noise lol.
Awesome result !!
Is it possible that the faulty PCV valve caused the engine failure in the first place? Maybe under or overfuelling, or messing up the lubrication? Just throwing that out there!
I did think that yes! We will never know
I was thinking the same thing I'd say a very good possibility
Your knowledge and speed is incredible!
Time lapse 😉🤣
very nicely done, did you forget the air con recharge cost? or are you not doing that? 👍
Yeah add £65, just haven’t done that yet
Unfortunately pcv valve common problem on these engines. Great video Dean. But always seems to fly by
Loved this TT series Dean
I get a puff of smoke in my s3 when I start up warm but not cold could this be the pcv valve
Excellent interesting upload. Just shows how hard work and focus always bring good results . Thanks here.
just ordered a carly nice one for the discount dean
Great work, stunning looking motor,we have mk1 tt in red.
Do you think the cylinder failed due to pcv or carbon build up?
Nicely done.
I like the interior colour.
My brother has a mk2 TTs with the usual alarm siren packing up and typically the bolt it is held on with just spins. Solution? Bloody wing has to come off.

They are made in Hungary. That's what I put it down to, haha. As an TT Mk2 owner myself.
Top video Dean! Loved it. Am hoping that you are going to raffle it???
Great job so professional. 👍👍👍👍
Did you fix the driver’s mirror
Does the Dogbone mount bolt always protrude on the TT? most of those are countersunk into the large bush are they not
If I don’t win the s1 I’ll defo be trying for this would be a nice upgrade from a r56 mini ! Love the content mate keep it up !
Great rebuild Dean!
Nice job, Dean - did you forget the plugs? Or are they in there somewhere?
They’re in with the bearings 👌🏼
This has the same engine as my Scirocco :)
Wow fantastic job hope your going to raffle it 🤞
Love watching your vids. Have been watching you from your transporter days. Have you still got that company? Looking fwd to seeing the Porsche back on its wheels. Keep the vids coming. 👏 Jules n Karen
Great job 🎉 so when you want to let the TT go? 😊
Started watching @SavingSalvage after you shared the link on the TT forum. Have now watched the Caravelle, S1, TT and probably some other I've forgotten! Great bids. Will you be rafefling this bad boy or selling??!!
It’s up for raffle now the S1, unsure about the TT yet though.
An hour to book an MOT? I’m in Northern Ireland, the first available date I can get is November 24th!!
I live in the sticks 😆
Nice work but on the costs I don’t think you included the air con re gas or is that not considered in the cost breakdown?
Add £65 🤣
Could that pcv fail have caused the rings to have failed in the first place?
I'm not sure I want to know the answer to this but at 6:50 are you using an impact driver to tighten the spark plugs? I've always done them manually with a torque wrench, is it safe to use the driver instead?
Would that pcv valve be what damaged the engine in the first place ?
Is this going to be a competition car.
Tvr cerbera in back?
Will this be for sale if so how much please.
Get it fixed 👍

Great video enjoyed it very much
Great job Dean, fantastic car that has been sorted properly. 👍🇬🇧😎
Would you not run it in with running in oil for a few hundred miles?
No, engines are quite resilient these days. Most brand new cars with fully new engines don’t have a first service until 18/20k miles
Great video mate
Boy done good.
Nice job
As always another informative ,interesting and highly enjoyable video
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice one Dean she sounds sweet bet shel look mint with the refurb wheels 👌
Are you going to auction the TT?
Fix that Tvr please!
How much would you charge to do head gasket , new tappets and rocker arms on one of this cars ? I have same car and engine and the engine is sweating oil from head gasket
Great work Dean. Lovely result.
Your a bloody good mechanic Dean 😮👏 .
dean air con gas,,you adding that on the bill
Yeah add another £65 😆
I’m sure you’ve mentioned before but I’m curious how you gained all your knowledge. Top mechanic 😎
he worked for audi and vw i think
@@longbar2344 i thought he did, must have been there for years
Yeah I worked for Audi and Vw for 5 years 10 years ago
Congratulations on 150K subs
Thank you!
Great job, any chance you’re going to raffle this one?? 🤞🙏😁
Thats a totally very rare TT, petrol quattro and DSG its like a TTS
Unreal the head work was less than the wheel refurb
Great work on the TT as always. Can I pick your brain? I’ve a a6 C7 and it has a frayed drivers seatbelt, do I simply disconnect the battery and replace it or will the new belt need recoding? Thank 👍
Nope just disconnect the battery, will be fine 👌🏼
@@SavingSalvage thank you mate 👍
Enjoyed the video. Really good job.
You must be an Audi engine rebuild specialist by now Dean well done again mate 👏👏👏
Was it still sucking in air with the new pvc ?
No
nice job dean now a very nice car!
It’s baking Dave “. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Sweating like a Sl@g Dave 😂😂😂😂.
If you can, save a few quid and buy a shop fan for the summer, and a heater for the winter. I feel bad for you between sweating and shivering.
i like that TVR O.O WOOOOAAAA MAAANNN
Lovely motor mate really enjoyed that one 😁
You make it look too easy 😎🔧
Cracking vid as per usual but just wondering did you cut your own hair? I mean you are a TT owner now!!!!!!
