When I bought my Mk2 TDI a few years ago, it came with Comforser CF710 tyres which I'd never heard of, and from research are at the budget end of the market, but tbh, I really like the ride, they are very quiet at 69db on the road, go round corners really nicely and grip well on wet roads, and have a rim protector, the fuel side isn't that good rated at D, although I don't do loads of miles seem to have lasted very well, when these need replacing I'll definitely get the same again. With regards to TT suspension, I've owned a MK1 225 Quattro and now own a Mk2 Tdi Quattro and I have to say I think Audi got it right with the ride and handling on standard suspension, and that comes from someone who has owned a "lot" of cars and changed numerous suspensions to try to improve what ever car I had at the time, with varying degrees of success, I don't see the benefit of adjustable dampers unless you're tracking the car, but if not then Bilstein B4 dampers I've found are a good replacement for standard items, even with slightly lowered springs.
A very helpful video. Straightforward advice in a concise form. I bought a 2001 (pre facelift) roadster 225 a month ago. It's a bit rusty undernewth, has a hesitation under load and the suspension needs some work. I will upgrade the suspension but looking for oem type dampers or very slightly firmer, and oem bushes, I think. I'm used to a car that rolls a bit and I would like it too be comfortable for long journeys.
I have a 2011 TT TDI it’s incredible , the torque and engine set up make it extremely quick. I’ve just sold my Boxster 987 and this TT is far quicker .
@@jeffreyroberts7438 quicker but far less enjoyable maybe :(( can't get away from this heavy nose feeling even after installing rear sway bar and even a haldex controller.. too much money it's rewarding only in the accelerations sometimes in the corners but when you try to use some driving technics it will let you down. Best thing I would say is does everything ok even practicality for a sport car is good.. and fuel economy too.
6:07 truth was said but when installing front sway bar (along with rear) comfort takes a hit in uneven roads for both magride mods.. and there is no aftermarket springs same oem height with just a little bit more comfort only lowering springs available (HR more stiff and Eibach too soft)
thank you very interesting. I am hoping to purchase a MK11 2013 era .not sure to get the 1.8 ltr , as it seems that these are bought by ladies and hence lower milage ( no sexist comments intended, just a fact) or the 2.0 ltr. Also would like your comment on whether to for the manual or auto .MMM!
Hello Sir, outstanding video, lot of topics addressed thanks a million. I drive a mk2 TTS wich upgraded HPFP, TTRS LPFP to suit E85 conversion. You may have considered talking about the fuel pressure release valve that originally is set to 120 bars and can be replaced by the RS4 model set to 140 bars to raise injection pressure and adjust ignition timing. That goes along well with the TTRS/RS3 injectors upgrade too. There seems to be a 150+ bar model too but it was way to expensive for me. How about sway bars? Again thanks and congratulations.
I’ve just fitted Devanti tyres the front of my Audi tt. 255x 30x 20’ and the ride I can only describe as “choppy”, it’s a weird sensation, like the wheels aren’t round! I had them rebalanced, thinking I’d lost a weight. I’m a bit lost what to do. I had Pirelli on before I have 3 mum left on the rear tyres and don’t know if the ride will improve if I moved these to the front until I replace them?
can i ask i have a 2.0 tfsi bwa enigine i have upgraded the intercooler /decat straight thorugh miltec exhaught /ram air induction kit/vis hpfp/and the rs4 fuel return valve ...im about to map it but the mapper is saying the car is over fueling on idle could it be the rs4 return valve courseing my problem as some ppl say its not needed on a k03 turbo?
Too rich on idle can be any number of things just suck it up and take it to audi. Sometimes it is the HPFP sometimes it is a bad or poorly connected sensor. You could swap parts until you're blue in the face or just get a legit diag. I'm assuming you also have a map given you are running a larger downpipe. Even at idle you might have a bad boost pressure sensor. That would cause a rough cold start.
That makes me sad, these cars are future classics and I'm hoping that they will bow to pressure and release a mk4. Look at the Sirocco - it took years but finally they released a new version of it.
the bright side of this is the cars will go up in price in couple of years... at least there's this... although I'd love it if they made one more final edition MK4

One of the best summaries I've heard!

Buy decent tyres for such a beautiful car.
Alignment not balancing

5:27 There’s not going to be a mk4 :(

@@torquecars ..but your rendering would be well received (tone the side skirts down and increase flares 10% :)
