Dean i going to be honest you should bring your cars finished to a few car shows, one you mite gain a few for subscribers for your channel and also self promotion for the Raffles of the car's, Plus i say loads of your viewer would love to see or meet you in person as well???
Don't forget the window noise before raffling finishes. Very good always like how they get done at the end 👍🏼. Mat Armstrong goes too carbon fibre mad. Your videos are just better and original. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼
What a great car. We all know why it was damaged...you have to be an experienced driver to handle this one. These pops and bangs are ridiculous, I would be ashamed to drive it in Sports mode. I would have it removed from the ECU by a tuner. I feel the same as Dean, with that amount of horsepower you need fourwheel drive, much safer. I hope the cash return on the raffle is 10 Pounds, this channel is all about cars, if you buy tickets, you should get the car, not the money. See you in the next one. Have a good weekend!
To answer your question, I watched the video (first half). From my own perspective I thought the work was nearing completion just needing paint so much of the most interesting content was already covered. Some TH-camrs talk about prices and costs which increases interest but I wasn't expecting that here.
This has to be have been one of your most challenging projects Dean, virtually every panel had damage. You have done a brilliant job on the rebuild it looks amazing. Hope who ever wins it is able to keep it in one piece! - it sounds like a car that needs a firm hand😃
Really enjoying the video so far. Nice to see a bmw on the channel. Just a couple of things though, never charge a BMW directly on the battery. There is a positive and negative under the bonnet that you should connect the charger to (you can Google why). And the valvetronic controls valve lift not camshaft position. Cam position is controlled by the vanos gears which in turn are controlled by the vanos solenoids. Thought I’d mention those things in case you have some more BMWs to work on in the future! Car looks amazing by the way, what a transformation. (Just finished the video and just thought I’d add that you’ll need to use diagnostic software to get the DME to relearn the valvetronic postions.)
@@SavingSalvagewith ISTA D it’s a very quick procedure done while the engine is off and ignition on. You will hear the valvetronic cycle and then a confirmation that the position limits have been learned. I’ve heard of people doing some sort of accelerator pedal and key procedure to accomplish the same thing but not sure if this is actually correct.
Never really been a bmw lover but definitely wasn't a hater this car looks awesome will be entering the competition but the pops and bangs will have to go they sound ridiculous well done on the build cant wait to see whats next
A pat on the back from me, not seen you smile so much on at test drive ,can understand why your gonna let it go,you need to keep your license great video as always 👏
Great work again! The C63 builds were how i discovered your channel a couple of years ago while trying to sort some bits on my own, been tuned in to every episode since!
What an awesome job Dean, fantastic transformation. That said, whoever wins has got to remove the pops and bangs.and maybe even dial it down a little..it's almost too hot!!
About 20 years ago I had to replace a Mondeo front wheel bearing on Christmas Eve. I managed to get the part by my regular mechanic was closed obviously. I needed the car back on the road as it was my taxi and therefore my living. Managed to get the old one out whilst it was actually snowing and the forced the new one in with two very well placed sledgehammers. Not conventional but it worked. But never wanted to ever attempt that again. Wheel bearing was fine too 👍🏻 Also entered for both cars fingers 🤞🏻
Them boys at NVM will tune out those pops and tweak the gearbox map. What you have achieved with this car is amazing. I had my doubts but you made replacing a roof look easy. Cannot wait for the GT4S
15:46 Yea that's the time when I just say "Sod it!" (I'm not from the UK but I thought I'd use a vernacular you would know LOL) and drive to BMW and buy another bolt and not go hunting for the old one underneath LOL.
More or less on 20000 miles i had the same problem with the vanos solinode on my 2016 M135i. Unfortunetly the excentric shaft was also damaged, it seems the two things go hand in hand. My local dealership gave me a price of £2400 for parts alone. Even though it was 1 year out of warranty BMW agreed to pay for the whole repair so it seems pretty clear its a known issue but they would not admit that but fair play too them for doing it for free i suppose.
Some pop & bang maps will only work after throttle inputs over a certain %, so if you back off from 1/2 or 3/4 throttle it won’t do it only if it’s seen 90% on the pedal within a set timeframe
After having a 300bhp Renault 5 turbo I am sure I could have so much fun in this. You have done a stunning job especially after how much damage there was. And to be honest I am very much a BMW girl. Have had several in the past and loved every one of them.

Respect Dean! It started looking hopeless(for me). But the endresult is stunning!!! Very well done! Personally I agree with you about the bangs. Quickly disable them😅 Tickets will be bought obviously as the M2 comp looks amazing in that colour❤️ Keep up mate!
i thought this one was beyond repair you proved me wrong give your self a pat on the back great job. would love to enter for that one but iam outside of the uk.
The pops and bangs thing is one of the worst mods to happen to cars, I really don't get why folks like it, good on you Dean for wanting it to come off.
Ignore some of these comments, you’ve done a great job and have a great channel. Raffling the cars after completion makes sense and enables new builds. Few tickets bought by me
Got my tickets fingers crossed, oh I probably wouldn't use that stone cleaning nossle on your jet wash, it might take paint off if its fresh on one of your builds.
Hope someone like myself who needs it wins it... 🙏 I enjoyed the journey 👍 I might enter anyway but I have entered many of these sort of thing before but still been happy to see the handover especially when it's not someone with alot of money.. Great work !

Hats off to you Dean. I thought it was too badly damaged. Tickets purchased and let’s hope whoever wins it doesn’t mangle it again because it looks an absolute handful 😂
Got myself as many tickets as I can afford for this, my birthday is the 29th September so getting as many tickets gifted to me as I can haha! Absolute 10/10 car
Fantastic work as always. The M2 competition looks absolutely amazing with the carbon roof and spoiler. Great series, my favourite part was the addition of the carbon roof, it really works well to enhance the overall quality of the aesthetic of the M2 competition. 😊
