@@Beardman56 Like why didn't Roadworthy rescues just publish it like other truncated episodes? I just seems weird. I do hear what you are saying, though.
Looks like a guy got a promotion to be on Discovery. Congrats Derek, that's a long way from working on cars out of his garage/barn somewhere in Minnesota.
We like the boring stuff with Derek as well Discovery. No need to edit out so much of the B roll. Give us 20 minutes or more at least. I don't mind the extra commercials as long as its not ridiculous.
I'm definitely going to save this one. I have a 1985 J10 that I am in the process of restoring and like the idea of adding the stripe on the side. I am getting mine ready to paint with Raptor Liner tinted Olive Green. I am thinking of a burnt orange for the stripe.
A friend of mine, his father always had a Wagoneer and that is what my friend took when we went out on the weekends to parties in high school. Party's in the countryside ! My friend was a bit risky-crazy with his dad's truck. Here in Virginia where we both grew up, we have the Blue Ridge Mountains just 15 minutes from our community and we did a lot of four-wheeling, and that Wagoneer was hard to get stuck, where others meeting up with us who had 4x4s did get stuck spinning in the mud, and we'd have to pull them out. No kidding. AMC made a good truck..
I was watching the jeep truck episode and you were kind of guessing at the year. On most of the American cars that you work on, the year of the car is printed in the tailight lens. It was that way many years.
Good project truck. It looks like fun. I like the collaborations. It's like rock stars collaborating. BOWIE and JAGGER? .....or better, WAYLON and WILLIE !!! YEAH !
I don't know if you'll be interested but I have a xj6 Jaguar 1985 if you will be interested in doing a will it run on it the far as I can tell it's been parked since late 90s and it's pretty much 100% original
Don't laugh. I had to get the hose that goes from the filler to the tank from Australia. Could not find anyone who stocked it in the U.S. Also did you notice that the tail gate was missing. Luckily mine has it but they are very rare to find rust free.
O man - where's the full video. "We're gonna try to get it fired up." Cut - to Hours later w the truck back at the shop on a hoist. Where are the details!
I believe your truck is a J4000 and not a J10. The J2000 (short bed) and J4000 (long bed) were built from 1971 - 1973 after AMC bought out Kaiser. The J10 and J20 were built from 1974 - 1988. At any rate your Jeep is sweeeet.
there's the diff...lol..Derek's poor back gonna give him grief after all that bouncing around..a feller just needs a few wobble pops and a couple of ibuprofin for a full recovery
This is the first video with Derrick that I've made it to the end of in at 3 years, but it had Dave Chappelle, so I gave it a chance. I always get sick of Vice Grips dumb humor and super low compression personality and click away before the end of the vid. But this one only had a couple of stupid jokes and he wasn't playing up the brain damage angle. It was not bad. I probably won't watch any of his other stuff unless Dave C. or Dave F. is also on it, but it's cool to know this guy isn't always playing a tackling dummy

You and Dave make good videos together Dave makes a good side kick
That was quite the corporate edit going from the farm field to the shop in one swipe.
No first start.
No ride home.
I might just stick to the VGG channel.
Pretty sweet to see Derrick on Discovery though. True talent there
Cut all the real fun part out at the start - did it start? Did it make it home?
I prefer dereks format from vgg also - 3 x 1.5 hrs per car plz
Derek has made it to Discovery. Well I'll be dipped. I've been following him since the very early days. The best car guy on TH-cam.
Did he "make it" to discovery UK? Or did they poach a Roadworthy Rescues short episode?
@@jspaulding4106well discovery owns motor trend so not so much poaching as using content they own

Dave and Derek at it again working on this Jeep pickup and made it much better than it was. Good video!
Wow, what a fun build!
I would like to see more episodes like this.

Damn, I LOVE that truck!!!
I wish he had more video time on this one. But it looks great.
Well it was 43 minutes long when if came out on MotorTrend about a year ago.
You never cease to amaze me Derek.God Bless
Man dude your like awesome chip foose was number one for me then martin brothers now you all you three are my favorite show bad ass
Dave is a beast
Just gotta make sure you don't end up stuck in a ditch with a tornado following close behind!
Twister👍
Makes me miss my '87 J20
Goddang I wish derek could do his detailed videos showing the full journey..
Those old Jeep pickups are cool. Just don't see many around.
That is one sick truck.

Great episode. Cool jeep truck.
With all the accessories available, a friend who owns one told me JEEP means, "Just Empty Every Pocket!"
That or Just every one Else's Parts 😂😂😂
Man I used to have a 76 it had a 360 with a 4 barrel carb .. 3 speed with a granny gear.
A friend of mine, his father always had a Wagoneer and that is what my friend took when we went out on the weekends to parties in high school. Party's in the countryside !

I know you picked that carburetor because of the go handle
More if these definitely!!
Much fun thanks 👍👍👍👍👍
Hope he has that exhaust pipe tipping down slightly to let moisture drain out. !!
Nice! I like it.
More offroad worthy rescue, please!
More Jeep trucks deserve to be saved. The movie Tremors got me interested in the Jeep Gladiator. The 63 Thriftside
Used to have a rattle can camoflauge '72 Wagoneer w a 360. It was a tank! Body was very rusted out. Good hunting truck though.
I want it.

Hello Derek
Sitting on a hill, my a*s, this was a ringer if I've ever seen one....
Dirthead Dave is awesome
What do you do with the vehicles after you fix them up?
Derrick 👍 🙋♂️ 👍
Dave chapel from dirt every day Dave chapel is a popular name 😂
Lol exactly 🤣🤣👍
Did you keep the jeep or get rid of it? Nice rig.
so ypou went from the field to the shop. did you get it running in the field?
hi: on the efi all the parts what is cosT APP
You skipped the part between the field and the shop? Did you tow ot or drive it?
Never seen a holley work out of the box in the last 30 years . They went down hill.

manuals are only cool if you like them.. but for truck work they werent as strong as the automatics.. the automatics had nearly 2x the towing capacity
I've had 4 over the years my dad was driving jeep trucks until they stopped making them
one of my biggest regrets, selling my lifted J10 =(
Factory red engine in 1972 means it had/has California emissions.
Oh Derrick probably has money coming out of his ears with all the channels now has to be
$500 intake
$1200 carb
$1200 efi conversion
$ 2000 tires
$ 1500 exhaust
? Fuel system
? Brake lines
? Winch
Am I missing anything
What's the gladiator in the background
How about the gas cap😮

OK, GREAT! How much?
Who parks a perfectly good truck?
Does he still have the key?
I wonder if he was watching this?
Hey! That's my Truck!!!!
I’ll buy it$$$$$
Where's this yard of jeeps located at?
There is no way you could make that sitting unit to drivable in 4 days
That’s the guys from Vice Grip Garage and Dirt Every Day. They do it all the time, you’d be hard pressed to find better vintage truck mechanics.
Whats the odds you snag Dave thats from Wa. State and you pick a Jeep from Wa. State haha
I love your TH-cam channel

@ vicegrip garage -if a fella goes to unload on that brown jeep truck hit me up.i had one same color as a youngster

that isnt a long bed, its the short bed. So its probly a J2000.
Washington plates. Wonder from where.
I have one in the UK can you come over and work on it. The steering wheel is on the other side to yours.
I sort I saw a SOG
there's the diff...lol..Derek's poor back gonna give him grief after all that bouncing around..a feller just needs a few wobble pops and a couple of ibuprofin for a full recovery
Respect and like Dave and his skills but lowering everything not so much. I'm glad you didn't do that in this project.

Canceled months ago. Discovery has ruined motor trend. Paying to see one roadkill every 6 months. Nah… I’m good.

Guessing you're a minimum of 55 with a stupid take like that
That ain't a Jeep.
