    Thanks for your simple yet helpful demonstration. That's exactly what I was looking for, without an hour talking. Best wishes.

    with a CP helicopter the smaller they are the harder it is to keep them in one place. helicopters do drift around, especially the small ones out in the wind or even in a small room their own wind can blow them around, a FBL helicopter is allot more stable and easier to keep in one spot. if you tell the helicopter to move to the right it will continue to do so till you make it stop. keeping a steady hover means constantly working the sticks to keep it in one place.

    Well, all I can say is you solved my left drift problem trying to learn close to the ground. But thanks for keeping the vid up so long....... Made my day....

    Short and to the point. Exactly the problem I was having. Thought I had either a defective heli or really bad trim setup. Finally got my first rc heli hovering and did it indoors. Thanks for the helpful tip!

    That occurance is caused by tail rotor induced roll. Because it's above CG, it imparts a roll response.

    @rollinolin333 that might be, i have never had to do that, i cant remember what way to turn it. but you can give it a try, just remember where it was set so you can turn it back if that was not the problem..
    i know you said you fixed them, but i cant think of any thing else that wold cause it to pop up in the air and spin the nose around on take off.
    any time you adjust the pot you got to power down and re power the heli for the change to take effect. sounds like a pain.

    depends on how good yo are, when first learning to hover wind is not a good thing. i have hovered in 17mph wind and it is a challenge. even 7 or 8 mph winds can really give you a hard time. bigger helicopters handle much better in the wind that something like the SR.
    it can slam you in to the ground pretty fast if you are not quick with your throttle control. a wind gust can either make you gain altitude or loose altitude quite drastically.

    i had this helicopter a few years ago, i have no clue how i had the radio set up, sorry i can not be of help.. settings should be how you like them any ways. so its not always best to use some one else settings. different radios will also require some different settings for the same helicopter.

    I am just getting into RC Helos, and the fact that I cannot seem to hover a few inches off the ground bugs me. You are saying about 3,4,5 feet off of the ground. I have what you'd consider a mini or a micro. It's an MD-530 by Heli-max, if that means anything. Is it normal for the helicopter to drift, then when you compensate and have it at a steady hover, have it drift in the direction of compensation? Like I said this is REALLY annoying, and my dad insists on a ROCK STEADY HOVER. As if sitting.

      i think what you have is a coaxial helicopter, those should practically hover their self.. if a coaxial is drifting it sounds like it just needs to be trimmed using those little trim tabs on the controller if its drifting forward trim it backwards, if its drifting to the right give it left trim.. so move the trim tab the opposite way that the helicopter is drifting. once you get it trimmed out correctly it should almost hover in place if its a 4 channel. on a collective pitch helicopter you have to use constant very small stick movements to keep it hovering in place and have a proper set up on the helicopter.

    how do you do it with a 3 channel helicopter? it doest have aileron

    • @juhavehmanen8604
      @juhavehmanen8604 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      lukas barasakus This video is about collective pitch helicopters. 3 channel helicopter usually have counter rotating blades and it doesn't have a side tail rotor. 3 channel helis hover themselves.

      You don't adjust like he does, with blipping the cyclic on pick up. Because there's no tail rotor, like the acft. in this video, so there's no tail rotor induced roll like what happens here with this a single rotor 4 or more channel, so it's either a trim or swashplate arm adjustment.
      If a 3 channel coaxial does this, it's out of trim. If you can't trim it out enough with the buttons, if it has them, then whichever swashplate arm is appropriate needs to either be shortened or lengthened, using the turn buckle on the connecting knuckle.

    • @ronbennett6396
      @ronbennett6396 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Juha Vehmanen
      Not neccesarily, because it may be out of trim, or if that isn't enough, the swashplate horn needs to be either shortened or lengthened, whichever is appropriate.

    My grandpa is a navy veteran and he can't fly at all so don't make the helicopter fly like a veteran!

  • @Danny-Lightning-CSR
    @Danny-Lightning-CSR  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    your welcome dummy, hahahaha sorry had to do it... this only applies to fly bar helicopters. don't move the sticks when fly bar less helicopters are on the ground it it will probably tip over..
