- From our Lost and Found department: this interview with Nell Carter debuted 8/14/93 on our first network, CTN of NJ. It was show #10 of our first season and as far as we can tell, it has not been seen since that first season. For years this tape had been lost and has some technical issues but we were able to get a semi-decent digital version made. It brought back some really fun memories (Tivoli Pier at "Tropworld" and the parachute on the beach bump) and has a great chemistry between Nell and David. Nell was a wonderful talent and performer. She always did the local and public access interviews. Says a lot about her character. She never considered those platforms "too small" and she never acted grand with her interviewers.
What a great personality she has. She is infectious and sweet and makes you want to know her. Too sad she’s gone. The good really do die young. 😞 I started watching the show gimme a break and when I see her I think, dang, she can’t be dead... she’s soo funny and full of life.
I feel this amazing woman did not get as much recognition as others. She had it all!! Beautiful! Fabulous singer! Live entertainer on Broadway and comedian! One of the Best Entertainers of all time! R.I.P. Nell Carter❤️🙏🙌🏼

does anyone else see she has no makeup on at all? I love that! She was a talented lady, and died way too young.
She was one if my sheros i loved because it felt like i could relate to her as a person. I prayed for her. Then when she died i took it hard. She just so down to earth.

He’s a very skilled interviewer, he was able to get the conversation flowing so naturally and Nell seemed to enjoy talking to him. Nell is greatly missed. I wish she had not struggled so much in life but then again I guess her struggles made her the artist she was.

Also I don't think she cared about the wig. She had great self-esteem and felt sorry for many people who focused on looks or weight. One comment she made about that when she was alive was that that's their problem, not hers. If they can't look past her weight or (in your case) 👉 a wig to see her talents, and what a gift 🎁 she was to the 🌎 that shows something wrong inside you/them.
We all have a mirror 🪞 at the end of the be day. We all have health issues n grow old if we live long enough. Some day before you die ⚰️ you may be in a wig. So hush on up.

I wanted to ask Nell Carter if she had piano lessons because she could really play piano and sing at the same time. The songs I have seen here play were really hard to sing and she is playing jazz piano type chords.
She's the most talented and made a hit show and look how hard she had to work to get a role on Hanging with Mr. Cooper.
All that's being revealed make me wonder if they got to her. Meaning caused her death. So talented she's missed

She probably was tired, she worked hard, plus took care of her children.
