Thank goodness I'm renting & do not have to worry about inspecting sewers/pipes etc. Very good information for those who would have use for this type of device.
I had a Maple tree right on top of my sewer so I removed the tree, problem solved. I also had roots packed in the PVC of my sump pump drain it was so tight the pump kept cycling. Nice demostration.
This is great info to understand as an owner of a 1917 house that still has the original sewer line, approx 135 ft to the city sewer main. I've had some issues recently and plan to hire a local guy to come probe the line with a camera and a locator to find the second clean out and the city sewer connection point (for when I do have to replace the line.) The first plumber probed multiple times with rotary devices and found no indication of roots, but there is a little pushing up, creating a belly, and some sludge between the belly and my house. He used a power water blaster to get through the sludge and clear a lot of it up, but I bought an accelerator to work on dissolving the remaining sludge for now. I am wondering if these will work down a chimney, too...
That's a very nice tool! It shows what you need to know and the trouble spots. Showing the condition of the pipe can help to locate current and future problems. Eliminate problems quickly to prevent future big "OH NO's! " Thank you for this video.
Can you please measure the thickness of the cable? I need a thicker cable to push through my sewer line for inspection. I'm tired of returning cameras with thin cables in 5mm diameter that will not do their job. Some vendors don't provide this critical info. It costs a lot to return. Thank you!
I recently had to do a buncha research on cameras to make an educated decision. From what I learned, its not so much the thickness, but the classification they give the cable. Youll start at flexible, then mid stiff, then stiff. This unit here is a mid stiff unit with 165 feet of reel. Personally, I cant get it to go further than 120 feet (havent tried it with the rollers attachment, too scared of getting stuck).
I found this video very informative. I wish I would have had one before having a leak detection company come to my house. In finding I have an old cistern under my home, the leak detection company didn't bother to find it's true depth only determining minimum depth of at least 12 feet. I now need to purchase a liquid level sensor to find the true depth myself. There are many inexpensive ones on Amazon most without reviews or instructions at all. Perhaps you could do an instructional video on the liquid level sensors someday.
great video showing how the camera trasitions in the sewer pipe. Vevor should have labeled both sides of the camera cable for ease of viewing how many feet.
Great attention to detail, bud! That weakpoint on the wiring where the case attaches to the frame is vary hard no for me!!! If u have any recommendations for something a bit more modulator so it can be repaired or durable on the wiring connection thats still a bit budget for u minnesotan friendly drain cleaner here please let me know!!😃
Not sure about Canada, but here in the states we have a readily available root killer that you can pour down your clean-out as a preventative measure. It usually contains Copper Sulfate and it kills roots on contact. Your sewer line seems to be in great shape otherwise, so I'm curious if that could save you some cash.
Hello My Vevor inspection camera the viewing angle seems off by 90*. The water shows at the 3oClock position. How do you adjust it so the bottom/water is at the 6 oClock position? Thank You
I installed perimeter drains on new builds for a few years. I am now running a successful moss removal/gutter cleaning business and had the idea of investing in one of these to add perimeter drain inspections. Is this something thats feasible to do for people?
My assumption was right. I worked in the sewer/non-hazardous waste industry. I’ve camera’d lines, jetted lines, pumped out tanks and cleaned large tanks at WWTP. My assumption was the camera assembly isn’t heavy enough for when you push the line back into the coil. Looks like my assumption was correct.
I know its been a year how are you liking it and is there any issues that came up now that u had it for so long . Im thinking of getting it but theres no recent reviews on it
The two rubber caps that you said you weren't sure what they're for the larger one is for the stainless steel end of the cable to protect the electrical connection when unscrewing the camera head the smaller cap is for the prongs on the camera Head
What I can't find out, is how one unreels them without the line come off shooting all over the place. Putting it back on takes inch by inch. Cumbersome. Looks like you had to make your own brace?
This would be perfect for using on my AC drain line if the camera weren't so humungous. It's a 1-1/4" PVC pipe with multiple right angles, which the cable looks like it could handle, but not that massive camera on the end.
Copper sulfate inside pipe, dig up drain and encase it in concrete for about four feet, treat exterior roots with copper sulfate also, it won’t kill the tree.
Shannon you should think about having you pipe relined. That would make a good video. Who knows they may do it for free for advertising how to fix a cracked sewer pipe.
My neighbor had there sewer relined last year, 15 grand was the charge and our homes aren't that far from the street so I doubt anyone would do it for free, but hey, it never hurts to ask ;)
Spartan has a LiDAR patch system patches are slightly expensive but 2 patches would be greatly worthwhile in your case being on a continuous lateral cleaning program
Turn on the switch on the battery box and rotate the knob on the battery box, this controls the light brightness. Be sure the battery is charged also. If that does not do it but the screen has a picture then contact the supplier for advice and or exchange.
If you don't like the little strapped getting in the way of the spool when it's spinning just use your brain clip the strap onto the small metal ring that the cable first comes out
How hard would it be to drill a hole in the frame and attach a ring for the clip when not in use? Seems like you don't really have much in the way of critical thinking skills to problem shoot exceptionally simple issues. Makes me wonder how you make a living in the field of home improvements, if you can't even figure out how to secure a simple clip.
Limited time offer 50% off promo code 9G2H4BB5 for this camera ://amzn.to/3ILZwtO
That promo code is not working any more. Have any others?
any way you could provide another promo code...the current one is no longer valid

I have to say, I always come back to your channel for any tips/advice/ or just finding out how to do a job . Thanks Shannon 🫵
Damn vevor is pushing through youtubers hard! Gotta be the 4th person in a month I've seen review that tool.
The Chinese factories build them for about $47.

This camera would work anywhere you can slide it into.

Great review, and thanks for providing a Amazon Canadian affiliate link!

This is 5mm. I have never had an issue pushing it.

I use a 9.9mm push cable, 200 footer with self leveling camera head, Subtech design. It's a must have!
Done a very good job on explaining everything in this video. Well done
Good point about showing the room on inspections for homeowners.
Seems like the best video is on the way back. Nice slow retreat should give you your best shots.

Sorry I do not.
Nice to see again good morning I learn my framing watching your videos thank you

Possibly , I have never heard of that.
It’s called Root X!
Hello
My Vevor inspection camera the viewing angle seems off by 90*. The water shows at the 3oClock position. How do you adjust it so the bottom/water is at the 6 oClock position?
Thank You
You can't . It all depends how the camera sits as it slides down the pipe.If it really bothers you turn your screen.
Hah just in time, been thinking about renting one from depot and check my sewer lines
Really great and thorough review. Thanks!
Have you tried this on internal piping to see if it can go around corners?
It will go around corners, I'm not sure how small of radius though
I installed perimeter drains on new builds for a few years. I am now running a successful moss removal/gutter cleaning business and had the idea of investing in one of these to add perimeter drain inspections.
Is this something thats feasible to do for people?
There can be a market for it. Many home inspectors and drain cleaning companies in my area offer this service
100 % if you got access for it we get calls to clean out rain drains and so forth I’m sure you could run a camera on those too
Good enough video demo for me. I’m getting one
How are you liking it?
15:00 That reminds me, I'm overdue for my colonoscopy.

How much is the annual clean-out compared to digging down and fixing it for good?
$200 to clean VS. $10K -$14K to replace
Shannon, Would it be possible to kill off the surface vegetation which those roots belong to?
These roots are from a 60+ ' tall tree
I know its been a year how are you liking it and is there any issues that came up now that u had it for so long . Im thinking of getting it but theres no recent reviews on it

Sounds logical, thanks
What I can't find out, is how one unreels them without the line come off shooting all over the place. Putting it back on takes inch by inch. Cumbersome. Looks like you had to make your own brace?
You must have a different camera . This one has a nice reel which encloses the cable and keeps it all under control.
Would like to see this tool used on the forced air duct systems.
good idea. watch for that !
Thanks for this information
My bro has one comes in handy we seen roots growing in them sewer pipes
This would be perfect for using on my AC drain line if the camera weren't so humungous. It's a 1-1/4" PVC pipe with multiple right angles, which the cable looks like it could handle, but not that massive camera on the end.
Nope ,it would never go through.
Do you have to have a license to do sewer scope
Inspections?
You don't need a license for that.
Does it has a sonde to send a signal to a detector?
No
were you able to view these videos from the sd card on your computer? the files come up just as texts on my computer?
I actually have not tried i just view recordings on camera unit
how rigid is that yellow cable, would it be rigid enough to catch and pull cctv ethernet cable between double block walls please?
Thank you so much its awesome.
We call that a low spot, a belly which cause clogs because it slow the flow down hence a build up of product
what happens if there is a U or Y? can it be turning or rotating?
A U would be tough a Y should be doable.
You could do a trenchless repair on that. You can have a 4 section done for a reasonable rate.
can you change the camera to an aftermarket 4K camera
No Idea
Copper sulfate inside pipe, dig up drain and encase it in concrete for about four feet, treat exterior roots with copper sulfate also, it won’t kill the tree.
Will this go through a trap? Thanks
I doubt it. I would not try.
No, not with any brand of sewer cam. The trap must be removed or bypassed first.
Great video.
Wow 😮

Some good common sense hints…..thanks
How much weight??
The other pipe that you keep saying non-whatever is called Orangeburg that’s the name of the pipe that’s done with cardboard and tar
👍👍👍Thank you
I was like holy hell there is an alligator in the sewer!....just tree roots. sheesh.
have you had blue screen yet?
my uncle just purchased this and the light doesn’t come on.
Turn on the switch on the battery box and rotate the knob on the battery box, this controls the light brightness. Be sure the battery is charged also. If that does not do it but the screen has a picture then contact the supplier for advice and or exchange.
get your self a flex shaft , clean it easy yourself with a drill
Not bad at all for the price
Great
Once a man turns 40 he will see his Dr. pull out a similar tool except they use it wet only.
🤣 just turned 40, can confirm.
This is down to $489 US now, thats seems a good deal to me
💪
Sir what is your Facebook page.. I want to buy your vevor snake camera.. thank you
There is a link under this video to the camera .Look in the video description.
You got a hydroponics system going on inside the pipe
$2-300? was just quoted 675 for french drain and my sewer pipe with 2 toilets 😆
If you don't like the little strapped getting in the way of the spool when it's spinning just use your brain clip the strap onto the small metal ring that the cable first comes out
Haha."use my brain". I love you keyboards warriors!
Clipping it there does not keep it far enough out of the way but thanks "tips"!
That's the spirit
Why not reline the pipe with that sleeve machine. I don’t know the name of it. Sure it’s not cheap but would end the yearly root issues.
10-14K to re line
@@HouseImprovements ouch.
that camera looks good quality video too bad vevor doesnt make self leveling camera or all in one self leveling and 512 hz
Camera much cheaper now

Hahaha, I like you problem solvers who hide behind your keyboards!
What are you even going on about? He literally took the clip off and solved the problem in like 30 seconds lol.
Just use a zip tie.
Maybe just poor some bleach or draino to remove those nasty rats nests 😂
That does not work.
I'm sorry man. That is a horrible place for a sewer cleanout.
I do not disagree with you . Its a PITA
This is gross, but necessary. 🤮🤮🤮
DIY Colonoscopy. To think of the money I could have saved!
🤣
