- Painting RV cabinets can be really tricky if you do it wrong. Most RV's are made to be lightweight, not super high quality so if you don't know what you're sanding or painting it can be disastrous!

What brand of paint did you use for the cabinets?
Why didn’t you use chalk paint or paint made specifically for cabinets found at all of the hardware stores?
Great question! We used cabinet specific paint that sticks to this kind of veneer. I’m sure there are many types out there, but this one worked great!
Did you sand the cabinets or not? Just wondering I want to remodel my rv and don't want to sand lol
Unfortunately, they have to be sanded, but only lightly. Since they are made to be lightweight, they aren't usually real wood, so what you are sanding is the outer layer. Since it's glossy, sanding it will allow the paint to seep in and have something to hold onto. If you don't sand it you will most likely not get the paint to stick, if it sticks, it wont be for long.
