A thumbs up is definitely not enough for this beautiful quilt. It amazes me how using all of those print strips and the set in corner print fabric came together so beautifully with the black background!

I did this during. Cozy quilt lock down. She gave the pattern for free. And I have all my blocks done. Just need to work on my wall to lay it out. Have it all ready to go so I’m so glad you did this one. It’s quite easy. It does have a few steps. I love that you lay it out and I can remember. How it goes together. That’s vary helpful. 🌹❤️
I'm pretty sure this is the quilt Cozy did for the sewquester during the pandemic. I made one for my mother in law! She loves it.

I'm not normally a fan of Kaffe fabrics but this was softened by using black.
The celebrations have been great, a fantastic turnout all over! Great to see 🍾
So glad to see a quilt without white! I make quilts use on beds, so I am always looking for color schemes that pop without light colors. :)
Ok, I would never buy Kaffe Fasset fabric, but I just love ❤️ this quilt. I just can't ever imagine what yo do with his fabric. Great job Donna to open my eyes to something different.

Love this quilt. I have followed Kaffe Fasset's career since the late 70s, I bought his knitting patterns. His fabric is just as exuberant and beautiful. He's a truly unique designer. Thank you for making this with the black background to show off those gorgeous colours. I think navy or dark green would also work well and even a burgandy.

I am self-taught quilter and I refer to your videos ALL the time!! Especially if I run into a "how do I do this" question. I have made several quilts family can't believe how I learned. HAHA. This quilt is gorgeous, and I always love when you use black for the background. It really showcases the prints in my opinion. I am glad you zoomed in on the fatter boarder when you did the quilting, because it looked blue on blue instead of blue bubbles on green. Really beautiful quilts. Love the KF fabric, but never used them since they are so big and bold. Cutting it up to jelly rolls, just make the colors pop. Thanks for showing us how to make this quilt using a black background. I prefer a light background, but this is beautiful. Gives me the confidence to try a dark background. I’m not a KF fabric fan at all, but completely respect his consistency in adhering to his vision and production of designs. I had the privilege of meeting him some time ago; he’s an engaging artist and I enjoyed just being in the same room listening to him meet and greet and simply share himself.
Donna, one of the many gifts you share with so very many of us is your consistent use of fabrics different from the pattern’s sample. Thus, you expand peoples’ horizons.
Your giveaway quilt today is another excellent example of your approach to your life’s work. The fabrics on this quilt again aren’t my style but they appeal to your many viewers and that, I believe, is part of your magic.
You always demonstrate excellent technique and make it accessible to so many, regardless of their skills. The workmanship is your usual impeccable doing. For an instant I could imagine how Caryl Breyer Fallert could take this pattern, use her hand dyed fabrics and somehow incorporate her trademark flying geese.
And that, Donna, is your greatest gift to the present and then into the future. You inspire people to learn in the present while you direct them towards future possibilities.
This is the definition of a mitzvah.

I love black as a background and sash color. All those bright colors really showed off that beautiful pattern. The picture on the pattern is very nice with the white and the lighter colors; but, I think your is the most beautiful. Thank you for this video.
White has never been a color I like to use in quilts. Yesterday, I bough white print on dark cream fabric to use as background fabrics in a kit (that came with solid white fabric to use as the background and four different solid green fabrics for the patchwork). I am also changing two of the solid greens to a solid black and a black/green print. Everyone who bought the kits, at the last quilt show, should end up with a wall hanging that looks the same. However, I want mine to look a lot different (and be a throw sized quit). I will still be using the same pattern.
