I am finally making this quilt - I am completely self-taught (sewing machine and quilting) and have learned so much from these videos. The tip to fold the fabric and slide it from the point in the block to the edge of the fabric prior to sewing was such a game changer for me. It's the little things... Thank you so much.
I am really taken by this quilt. So lovely! Soon as my surgery is healing, I would love to begin anew with this classic coffee cake beauty. Thank you for showing us how easy each step in the process is.
I really appreciate how quickly you get through the cutting and ironing basics and get right down to Sewing. Love your teaching style Donna. So glad I found you!
Good Morning Donna 🌻This was a fun tutorial to watch of a quilt pattern that was new to me. I doubt you will see my comment as I see this video was posted three years ago. Nevertheless, I just wanted to go on record to express my sincere appreciation of your talent, generosity and excellence in the fine art and craft of quilt making. I just love the soft fabrics prints and colors you chose to make this quilt with. I also love how you finished the quilt with beautiful borders, backing and a matching binding. At first, I was iffy about the longarm quilting pattern chosen but in the end I was delighted with the outcome. Such an absolutely lovely quilt. I think it would be wonderful if some Interior Designers of Show Homes would use your quilts on the beds in the bedrooms and on sofas in family rooms and living rooms. I also think that a label could be pinned to your quilts with your company name and contact information for interested quilt buyers. Show Homes are usually not sold in Canada, until the builders have sold all of the lots in the new community development. This would mean that your quilts would be seen by so many people who visit the Show Homes: and, thus, these beautiful quilts would find their forever homes around your country and mine. A beautiful dream I think...making so many people happy to retire to their beautiful beds at night and motivated to make their beds in the morning just to be able to have their quilt on display. I think I will start with my own room and go from there. I'm sending you and the Jordan Fabrics family many thanks and best wishes for a rewarding, healthy, and enjoyable week at work and home. Sincerely, Anita
Classic Coffee Cake 🎂 is a delicious three layer cake made of a layer of Matt (who cuts the beautiful layer cakes, strips and kits), a layer of Donna (for the beautiful piecing, quilting and selfless teaching) and a top layer of son James (for the professional videos for all of us to learn from and enjoy.) Delicious? You bet because, all the three are elaborately put together to make a sweet dessert. Learning to quilt from your videos is filling my life after children with such joy and blessings to my family. THANK YOU 🙏🏽
This is my all time favorite pattern video (along with your “Shadow Boxing” pattern). The camera work with close ups at the sewing machine, cutting table and ironing is indispensable and appreciated. No one does tutorials better than you Donna. Thank you for being my number one teacher. You take the fear out of quilting. Hello from Wisconsin.
This is probably my favorite I’ve watched you make. I’ve watched this video probably 10x just so i can i admire the pattern, fabric and overall quilt. Makes my heart happy. I’ve never made a layer cake quilt but i just treated myself to a cute Christmas collection i just have to try.
I’m so envious of anyone living near Donna’s store. I lived in North Jersey and had to travel to Pa to any good quilt shops. I recently moved to SC and looking forward to scouting new shops. Since my husband and I retired, we are planning to do some traveling. Donna’s shop will definitely be a stop.
You make quilting look like so much fun... What a pretty quilt. Pink and blue are growing on me, as I see them together with more colors. Thanks to your videos.
I’ve been watching quilting videos for about a year I just found you about a week ago - YOU ARE AMAZING- after watching you & listening I believe I can do it! You are a great teacher -Now I need a good machine !!👍🧵🪡
Love your shop and all the beautiful quilts. You have helped me learn. Not everyone is blessed with a teaching spirit. Well you are. Thank you so much for yours and your family’s time.
I love your tutorials the best! You are so thorough and take your time to explain everything which is so helpful for a beginner quilter. Love how you and Matt show how you do everything from picking out fabrics and putting it on the long arm and picking out the quilting pattern! And love your precuts by Matt! Yeah...no pinking! ❤️
Is it sad that I so look forward to a new tutorial from Donna? Such a pleasure to reinforce what I have learned from her, and learn new techniques and patterns! Thank you Donna and your team :-)
I have learned so many good tips from finger pressing to making a square within a square so easily. Thank you so much for the work you do to provide tutorials!
Donna, you are a wonderful teacher. I would like to make this quilt. I’m new to quilting but I feel confident after watching your careful and complete instructions.
Donna, as usual yo out did yourself! I tell all the quilt ers a talk to go to Jordan fabrics great prices and the best teacher EVER❤,not to say all the freebies 💕thank you 🙏 and may god bless you😇
Donna!! You are the best of the best! Thanks for teaching me the best way to FINGER PRESS! When I get well enough to sew again, I will be so confused as to which quilt pattern I would like to make! ALL of yours are SEW beautiful! (Thanks for keeping me company during this flare up!!!)

I’ve been learning so much from watching your tutorials Donna, I try not to miss any. I’m getting better at my seam allowances and my half square triangles. And to practice I’ve been making lap quilts for wheelchair patients at the VA. Having so much fun....thanks!
I just found your channel and I'm both excited and wowed. I have never quilted and have taught myself to sew. Your videos give me the desire to try quilting. Thank you. Ahhhh Donna, you make everything look so simple .....this one on point is really nice and the colors are really nice too..... Thank you once more.....karol
Your quilts and color choices are always so much prettier than the ones on the pattern. I hope the pattern designers appreciate your interpretations. Not to be snippy, and I do love Daniela, but I wouldn't have looked twice at that pattern. Very 1970's calico. With those gorgeous Riley Blake prints, all of a sudden it's worth a double-take and a "Oooooo." Now it's a quilt that the great-grandchildren will fight over one day I get inspired every time I watch your videos. Hope all is well in Oregon with you and yours.
Thanks again, Donna!! 😍all your videos and would love to win your lovely giveaway 🤗-Laura Olson. Your piecing tips are so so helpful and instill confidence
This quilt has just gotten under my skin!!!! I was drawn to watch the video over and over and over and over again until I just had to buy the layer cakes, supporting fabric and pattern. Jordan Fabrics didn’t have all the fabric or pattern in stock but I stalked the internet until I found them. I had to change the backing fabric but at last I have everything. I hope to get it started soon and maybe, just maybe a picture of my quilt will appear in the Customer Project section of an email 😌. STAT TURNED 🤣
Have you done a how-to on recreating one of those fabulous old "grandmother's" quilts, white background with pastel and/or 1930's-stle fabrics? Wd love to see one, Donna!
This was such a pretty project! When I saw the heading I thought you were sharing a cooking recipe. Ha. I learn something new every video. Beautiful quilt Donna! And how it’s filmed and edited makes it easy to follow and fun to watch. Thank you!
I love this line by Kate Spain called Voyage. I used it in one of the first quilts I ever made and still have it. It's just beautiful! Another great quilt and video, Donna. Thanks!
I really like this pattern and the colors you chose for it. I would really like to see it in bolder colors too. I'm sure they would both be equally beautiful. Thank you for sharing. 😊🌹
