The most impressive thing about this video is Messi's vision. He is a complete player. He has more Golden shoes than any striker and more Play maker awards than any Midfielder. Its crazy to think about it. If you take all Messis goals away he would still be considered as one of the best playmakers in history as he is the player with the most assists and clear ahead of everyone in that stat. But he is so insane and adds like 800 goals to that. just mindblowing
The whole time there was any controversy as to who is the GOAT, the minute anybody would consider number of assists, it became clear there was never any controversy. Not even close. Messi is two superstars in one. He is both the best striker AND the best offensive midfielder in the world!

Great analysis, but you actor have to add an extremely important factor in football: the offside rule. I don't know if you're familiar with it, but the player who's about to receive the pass must be 'on side' for the goal or the following action to be validated, which adds a significant hurdle to the timing of the pass and the run of the attacker.
For info, a player is on side if he's not standing in a position between the goalkeeper and the last defender when the ball leaves the foot of the passer. There's no offside in a throw-in or if the ball is intentionally deflected by a defender, or the ball is intercepted by an opponent. If a player is in an offside position but doesn't touch the ball (at the moment where the ball leaves the foot of the passer) nor influence the play in any way, for example block a defender or the GK, then the game is allowed to go on.
It's a tricky but fundamental rule in football that defines how the game is played and makes attacking phases much harder, but necessary given the size of a football pitch and how much ground the defenders have to cover. Best is to watch a couple of videos explaining it because if you don't understand it, you're missing a crucial part of the game.
